Chapter 31
Accidental Amore
"The Moon is exercising at the gym. The Earth is walking around, talking on the phone.
'Krish, we've broken up. I can't come back to you now... wait a second, Krish, I'll call you back later.'
The Earth said to the Moon, 'What, are you planning to get so thin that you won't even be visible anymore?'
The Moon looked at the Earth and said, 'Am I really that bad?'
It was clear from Moon 's expression that the Moon was quite angry. The Earth stopped the treadmill and said, 'What are you doing? You'll get dizzy and fall! You're not okay.'
'Why are you interfering with my work? What's your problem?' the Moon asked.
'My problem?' the Earth replied with a serious expression.
'Yes, you!'
'I'm just trying to help! Why are you getting so angry?' the Earth said angrily.
'You're making me angry!'
The Earth looked at the Moon for a moment, as if trying to understand what the Moon wanted but couldn't figure it out. The Earth remembered something she had read in a book but didn't fully understand it. She gave the Moon a hug.
'What are you doing? Harassing me?' the Moon said
'What?' The Earth was taken aback, feeling embarrassed.
The Earth recalled that in the book, when someone hugged a girl, she would start crying.
The Moon, teasing, said, 'Back off!' But then she noticed Earth's embarrassed face. Her eyes were saying, 'I am here for you! Be calm!' The care and concern that she never saw in Geet's eyes.
As the Earth tried to step back, the Moon pulled her back into position. The Moon looked into the Earth 's eyes, which reminded her of Geet. The memory of Geet's lips flashed in her mind, sometimes resembling Geet's and other times Adolf's. The Earth made a distressed expression as if she was a little scared of the Moon's behavior. She tried to step back again, but the Moon grabbed her waist and held her tight. The Earth was now visibly uncomfortable. She couldn't see the Moon's eyes, just her sweaty body and tight black bra. It was a dilemma for her. When the Earth tried again, the Moon said, 'Why don't stand up...' Earth hand touched, The treadmill started again, and the Moon lost her balance and fell. The Earth tried to catch her but couldn't, and the Moon fell to the side. The Earth asked,
'Are you okay?' She offered her hand to help the Moon up.
'You can't even stand properly.'
'No! I can't because when I keep my heart with you, I lose control! Then you'll accuse me of harassment!'
The Moon blushed and said, 'Don't talk like that! Be ashamed, I'm your boss!'
'I was?'
The Moon stood up without Earth's help, and the Earth pulled her hand back.
The Earth asked, 'Why are you walking like that, limping?'
'My leg hurts because of you.'
The Earth tried to support the Moon, but there was nothing but anger in their conversation. The Earth asked, 'Can't you forget Geet?'
'Wait a minute! Did you press the..
"What?"
"Forget" button on the back of my neck?' the Moon shouted angrily.
'Moon, I know it's difficult, but you have to try.'
'Why? I can't do it! I tried to be great for a while, but I can't keep it up!' The Moon said as if she was disgusted by something.
The Earth asked, 'Are you that angry? At Geet? If you keep doing this, you'll end up destroying yourself.'
The Moon didn't say anything, but the Earth had a bell ringing in her mind, realizing that the Moon wasn't responsible for all this? Even though she loved Geet maybe the Moon had tried to kill Geet?
The Earth asked, 'Do you hate Geet now?'
But again, the Moon didn't answer.
As the Moon was about to sit on the sofa, she slipped, and the Earth ended up on top of her, with the Moon falling on the sofa. The Earth said, 'So sorry.'
The Moon saw those innocent eyes again. The Earth immediately stood up, embarrassed. The Moon then pushed the Earth down onto the sofa and leaned over her.
'What? What are you doing? Isn't this harassment? A new way to vent your anger?' The Earth looked away, annoyed.
The Moon grabbed her chin and said, 'Look me in the eyes when you speak.'
The Earth met her gaze, but her eyes wouldn't stay still. The Moon was only looking into the Earth's eyes, but the Earth's heartbeat was increasing.
The Earth looked away, her cheeks turning red, and said, 'How long will you keep looking at me like this?'
The Moon teased, 'You're free all day, aren't you?'
The Earth, startled, replied, 'Huh?'
The Moon started laughing loudly. The Earth's expression was extremely cute.
The Moon stepped back, but it was too late. The Earth's control was already slipping. When the Moon's lips touched hers, the Moon's eyes widened. She was shocked, but the Earth, with her eyes closed, was trying to kiss her. But the Moon wasn't kissing back.
The Moon stepped back, whispering, 'What are you trying to do? Open your eyes!'
The Earth opened her eyes, looking down in embarrassment. She was completely flushed. The Moon, sitting on the sofa, asked, 'Don't worry, it's okay, it's my fault! You misunderstood my actions.'
"No, it's not your fault! It's because of me! I'm just expecting too much from you."
"I heard you're not going back to Krish?"
"Yes, I rejected him."
"Why? You should forgive people! Don't give such a harsh punishment for a mistake! You and I can't be together! Every time I've loved, I've only gotten hurt! This time, I don't want to choose love."
"So, you'll never be with anyone?"
"Yes, something like that! But I haven't thought about it! I just want to be free from these thoughts. Maybe I don't need love anymore!"
"Did you just realize this or have you always thought this way?"
"Your eyes made me realize that I'm stuck! I've gone crazy, caught up in this love thing, and I've forgotten myself."
"Forget yourself? I loved Krish too, but I don't even remember him."
"Because you got what you wanted, it's easier to move on. I never got it, so it's difficult for me."
"Tell me if I can do anything for you!" The Earth stood up and began to walk away, waving her hand.
After the Earth left, the Moon said to herself, "Now, I only need myself!"
---------------------------
"Payal, that..." someone called out, accompanied by the crunching sound of chips. In fear, Geet bit my finger, making me scream loudly.
"Geeeeeettttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!"
"Chipsy, is that you?"
I looked at my finger, which had turned red, while Geet, embarrassed, hid her face under the blanket. I forced a natural smile and asked Chipsy, "What happened?"
Chipsy replied, "Didi! Listen, that arrogant Ranjeet is showing off again! He's not even talking to me! He just went to his room and locked the door."
"Why are you forcing it?"
"Because I'm so boreddddddd!" Chipsy said with a cute bunny-like face.
"Fine, I'll talk to him! But not every time!" I said, trying to sound stern, though I couldn't hide my affection. After all, he was acting like a little child.
I noticed Geet still had her face buried under the blanket, so I pulled it off her.
"Ouch!" Geet exclaimed.
Geet had been biting the blanket, and when I pulled it, her teeth hurt.
Chipsy asked, "Bhabhi, how are you feeling now? Feeling better?"
I was startled and asked, "What? Chipsy!"
"Bhabhi, Bhabhi, please help me! I don't know how to get Ranjeet to forgive me."
Geet chimed in, "Oh, so you want to make up with Ranjeet? I have an idea."
Geet shared her plan, and Chipsy, excited, ran off to try it.
I turned to Geet angrily and said, "What did you do? Who gives such a silly idea?"
Geet smiled and said, "I do! By the way, Bhabhi suits you."
"Shut up! You're not my Bhabhi."
"But I am your wife now, so I want all these relationships too. You always wear Palaza-suits, when will you start wearing sarees? When will you wear a mangalsutra around your neck?"
"Isn't all this happening too fast?"
Geet laughed and said, "Too fast? Do you even know? You'll have to do all this. You'll also have to apply sindoor in my name, and fast for my long life on Karwa Chauth."
"Are you teasing me? Go ahead!, you wear the mangalsutra and sindoor. Why do you always dress so formally like you're going to the office?" I snapped, half-jokingly.
"Fine! Put the mangalsutra on me then, it's in my bag! The sindoor is there too."
"What? Are you serious?"
"Yes!" I don't know why I was feeling so shy.
I searched for the bag, which was right in front of me, but I was so nervous I didn't know what I was doing. Why was I so scared. Do others feel this nervous too? Geet was lying on the bed, enjoying the show. I found the mangalsutra in her bag, along with the sindoor. Does she really carry sindoor around? What kind of girl is she? She's completely crazy!
I sat on the bed and handed her the mangalsutra. "Here you go."
"What am I supposed to do with it? Put it on me?"
"What? You do it yourself!"
"Me?" She tried to move her hand again. "Sorry, sorry! Don't! I'll do it."
As I put the mangalsutra on her, my mind played a background music like in a TV serial. It was like I could hear, "Mangalam Bhagwan Vishnu..." I tied the mangalsutra and then stared at the sindoor. I never thought I'd be the one to apply sindoor. I always imagined someone else would do it for me. But now everything in my life was turning ulta-pulta (opposite). I was the one who had to apply the sindoor. I mean, I could do it, but it felt so strange. This was all new, and I couldn't decide whether I was more nervous or excited
Jay was outside the room, shouting, "Help! Help!"
All the servants came out, and Ranjeet also stepped out of his room. The servants brought water, but Jay was pretending to be unconscious. Ranjeet picked him up and took him back to the room.
Ranjeet called out, "Jay? Jay?"
He said to himself, "What happened to him?"
Jay opened his eyes and said, "Gotcha, Mr. Husband!"
Ranjeet lightly slapped him and said, "Let me study! You came here to disturb me."
"What you wanna do? You do not need to became anthing. "
"Why, Jay? Won't you let me do any work?" Ranjeet teased.
"Absolutely not! Don't even think about it! The boys in our house have full freedom! You know our boys aren't any less than the girls, right? They've even reached the moon," Jay said, overacting, and Ranjeet, amused by Jay's cuteness, gave him another light slap.
"Dramaking."
"Do it again, please?" Jay said with a smile. Ranjeet lightly slapped his other cheek this time.
Jay gave a big, goofy smile, as if he had gone mad in love with Ranjeet, and said, "Haaye!"
Ranjeet stood up, closed his book, and said, "Jay, I'm hungry."
"You want food?"
"Yes, order something."
"I'll make it myself." Jay standup.
"Then go."
Jay started to leave, then turned around and said, "No, no! What if you lock the door again?"
"So what do you want? Should I come with you?"
"Yes."
Ranjeet yawned and said, "No, I'm too tired."
"Should I give you a head massage?"
"Yes, I really need it." Ranjeet took off his shirt and said, "Go ahead!"
Seeing Ranjeet's body, Jay said, "Oh, Mr. Husband, lie down on the bed."
Ranjeet lay down on the bed on his stomach side and said, "We're just friends, so don't even think about anything else."
Jay smirked and said, "Not at all! Mr. husband"
