The Fairbourne Family

The Rich And Not Spoiled: A Christmas Special

🎄 Valentina's POV 🎄

"Mami," I heard a small voice whisper next to me.

Collette lay in my arms and I wrapped my arms around her, rubbing up and down her back softly.

"Mami," the little voice spoke again and I fluttered my eyes open to see Saylor next to me.

"Hi bear," I said softly and unwrapped my hands from Collette. "What's wrong?" I asked her as I ran a hand over her messy curls.

It was still incredibly dark outside and so was our room. I turned a little to check the time and it was only 4 am so I wondered why Saylor was out of bed so early.

"Can I sleep here?" She asked me.

"Mhmm, remember what mommy and I said about sleeping in your bed?" I asked her softly.

Saylor has a habit of not sleeping the night through in her own bed, at first we'd have trouble getting her to sleep the night through in her bed and she'd always come into our bed only ten minutes before we put her to sleep or we'd find her asleep in Fleur's bed.

It's definitely gotten better over the last few months but we're still having trouble getting her to stay there.

"Please mami," she pleaded with me. "I don't like my bed. It's cold." She said

"Okay," I unwrapped my hands from my wife and sat up a little more. Collette sighed a little and turned around.

I picked Saylor up into my arms and placed a little kiss on the top of her head. "Okay bear, let's go back to bed," I said.

"But I want to sleep here," she pouted as we walked out.

"What if I stay until you're all fast asleep?"

"My bed is cold." She said. "I don't like a cold bed."

In that moment all I could think of was the fact that Saylor is definitely our baby. Collette hates a cold bed and would cling to me if it's too cold. She much rather has a cold room and a warm bed.

"You don't like your bed cold?" I asked her quietly and she shook her head. "Okay angel, let's go back to our bed," I said and her brown eyes lit up with a wide smile on her face.

Her little arms wrapped around me. "Thank you mami," she said and placed her head on my shoulder.

I pushed our door open a little more and stepped back inside, closing it behind us. I placed Saylor in the middle and got in myself.

She snuggled in perfectly between us and smiled. "I like your bed, it's warm." She said in a whisper.

"Okay baby," I said and smiled. "Mommy and I will get you a warmer bed." She smiled widely at my words.

"Goodnight mami," she said as she turned to face Collette who just wrapped her hand around her.

"Goodnight bear," I said.

Before I could get comfortable, I turned over to check the time. It was half four and also Christmas Day.

I smiled to myself and laid back down, wrapping my arms around both my wife and child.

"She's right you know," my wife spoke softly.

"About what?" I asked her softly as my hand ran up and down her back.

Our two-year-old old already fast asleep in my wife's arms.

"Not liking a cold bed," she smirked at me. "A cold room is much better than a cold bed."

"She is definitely our daughter then," I said and my wife smiled.

"A copy of her mother's." She chuckled.

"I know it's far too early for this but it's Christmas Day," I said. "So, Merry Christmas, my love," I said and placed a hand on her cheek.

She pressed a soft kiss to the palm of my hands and placed her hand over mine, using her thumb to caress my hand softly.

"It's never too early to say Merry Christmas to the love of your life," she said. "Merry Christmas Val," she blushed and opened her eyes slightly.

Even if we were in a dark room, her eyes still lit up the room for me. Even in the dark, they shine.

"We made it another year to Christmas," she said. "I love you so much more than you know, my love."

"And we'll make it many other Christmases, thanksgivings, New Year's Eve, birthdays, and every holiday baby," I said and caressed her cheek softly. "I love you so much more."

She smiled and I leaned over a little to place a kiss on her lips. She blushed as I pulled away and our daughter stirred a little in her sleep.

Collette placed a kiss on her head lovingly and that seemed to send her back to sleep.

"And Merry Christmas from us to you Say," I said softly and kissed the top of her head.
