Chapter 345: 338: This is not a fairy tale
My Wife Is A Miracle Doctor In The 80s
âI learned medicine from the village doctor as a child. He tutored me for ten years until his passing.â
However, this village doctor seems to be no ordinary man.
Qin Ziye was indeed stunned because Tang Yuxin was much more exceptional than he had imagined.
It seems like he doesnât need to worry about his own wellbeing in the future.
Being able to marry a top-notch doctor would undoubtedly be a blessing over three lifetimes.
Tang Yuxinâs fingers gently trembled over the page as a soft smile played naturally at the corners of her lips.
The train was racing to reach the next station on time, and right before arrival, an emergency pathway was forcibly cleared inside the carriage.
When the doctor arrived, the patient was stable. After setting up the IV, they quickly transported him to the hospital. The train halted briefly before resuming its journey.
Having endured annual Chinese New Year mass migrations, this was not the most uncomfortable train ride for Tang Yuxin. After all, the New Yearâs trip is rarely comfortable. Everyone squeezes into a single carriage; all lifeâs necessities are packed into that space.
By the time they got off the train two days and nights later, dark circles were visible under Tang Yuxinâs eyes. But itâs just temporary; rest would cure her fatigue.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Qin Ziye had reserved a room in a hotel in Qingâan and had already thrown his luggage in there.
âDo you think your dad would beat me up if I went to your house?â
A joking question he asked while tugging on Tang Yuxinâs hair, internally pondering the volatile Tang Zhinian who had warned him off his daughter with a look of utter distaste, as if he were repulsed enough by him.
Such warnings were unnecessary. He wonât make a move on Tang Yuxin. Sheâs still young and hasnât even graduated yet. He adheres to that moral standard, and considering her reticent nature, the extent of their intimacy was limited to holding hands, anything past that she didnât seem to enjoy.
A true daddyâs girl indeed.
However, he was mistaken. Tang Yuxin was a good girl, but she wasnât that good.
She understood that a relationship between a man and a woman cannot remain platonic forever. There was no rush; people in this generation were generally reserved, making it essential for her to be too.
As for whether Tang Zhinian would hit him, Tang Yuxin didnât say, but most probably⦠yes.
Qin Ziye brought Tang Yuxin to Qingâanâs Blue River. The water of the Blue River was no longer as crystal clear. The water carried an unnatural darkness, indicating the beginning of pollution. Nevertheless, the Blue River was still their beloved river, but Tang Yuyu felt that she could no longer love it as before.
âWhy do you like the water here?â Tang Yuxin asked Qin Ziye, puzzled. She remembered her first meeting with him, standing here, against the wind, as if reminiscing. Was he recalling the water of the Blue River?
Your curiosity, Qin Ziye turned his head to find curiosity in Tang Yuxinâs eyes. Not a must-have curiosity, but a curiosity nonetheless.
She could know, or she could stay ignorant.
The glint in Qin Ziyeâs eyes flashed as he looked at the quietly flowing Blue River. The river seemed not to have changed much.
âA few years ago, I came to the Blue River, although not willingly.â
Tang Yuxin was listening but remained silent.
âBack then, I got into some trouble. Someone beat me up and then threw me into the Blue River.â
Tang Yuxin suddenly turned, staring at Qin Ziyeâs face. The pale-faced boy she had pulled from the water, even his lips were colorless. The boyâs face and Qin Ziyeâs were the same, down to the small mole at the corner of the eye. It matched perfectly.
Was that boy him?
Should she remark on how many coincidences there are in this world, and that it seems these coincidences might have been predestined?
A small smile played on her lips, and suddenly, even the changed waters of the Blue River seemed charming.
âActually⦠â
Tang Yuxin suddenly released a breath, yet she didnât finish her sentence.
She heard Qin Ziyeâs voice again, his raspy voice laden with memories. They started here, but where did they lead? She did not know.
âI thought I was done for, you wouldnât know. When I was thrown into the river, I thought I was going to die. The fear of being suffocated by the surrounding water, an experience Iâll never forget. Even after learning to swim, even after overcoming my fear of water, I still have nightmares about it.â
âLaterâ¦â He chuckled, the warmth in his eyes was something Tang Yuxin had never seen before.
âShe saved me.â
Tang Yuxin frowned, âDo you remember who saved you?â As he was unconscious then, he couldnât have seen her. And now, his mannerisms showed that he didnât know her at all.
âOf course, I remember,â Qin Ziye said as he looked at the no longer pristine water of the Blue River, âI love the Blue River, and I fear it too.â
âIt was her who pulled me out of the river and sent me to the hospital. I will forever remember what she looked like at that time. She was a young girl, but when she smiled, she was beautiful. Maybe because she had been studying music since she was young, she always carried this elegant charm. Yuxin, have you ever smelled a fragrance on someoneâs body?â
Tang Yuxin gently pressed her lips together, âHmm, I have,â She felt a chill run along her arm, and the Blue River in her eyes began to feel desolate.
âI vaguely smelled it on her. She said it was the scent of her perfume, but I knew it was her scent. Unique to her, no one else could have it.â
âAnd where is she now?â Tang Yuxinâs fingers tightly held her own in anticipation.
âShe went abroad.â
Qin Ziyeâs hand tucked into his pocket, âLetâs forget about this,â He stroked Tang Yuxinâs hair, âYou should go home. If your father finds out that Iâve taken his daughter away, it will be another reason for him to despise me.â
âOkay,â Tang Yuxin smiled. There was something about Qin Ziyeâs expression. It was as though he was watching her, yet not. When Tang Yuxin tried to figure it out, she found nothing there.
âWhat about you?â she asked him again.
âDonât worry, â Qin Ziye said, pinching her cheek and tucking her hair behind her ear. âThis isnât my first time in Qingâan. I know this place well. I just want to spend a bit more time here.â
