Chapter 49

Epilogue

DYSPHORIA

5 Years Later

"Mmm,"

I tiredly swat at whatever it was attacking my face and turn over in the warm sheets. I stretch out my foot to feel for another presence but was disappointed by the lack of leg hair, which means Kaeden had already left.

The poking and prodding happen again but I was so tired and sore that I kept my eyes closed and prayed to the gods it would stop.

But who am I kidding?

They're our babies, of course, they're not going to stop.

"Papa? Are you awake?"

I feel my little girl crawling onto the bed and over my body like a mountain climber before I feel the bed shift in front of me and I open my eyes to two little hazel-gray eyes gazing into mine.

"I am now, what are you doing up Noell?" I ask her and she grabs my cheeks in her hands. Her short raven black hair flowing in a messy bed head.

"Baby Rion woke me up with his crying but daddy took him out and told me to find you," she says and I hold in my groan. I wanted to sleep but it was hard to be mad at her sweet little face.

"Mmm okay, good morning baby girl," I yawn and she rubs her little nose against mine.

"Good morning Papa," She giggles and wraps her little arms around my neck. I go to hold her little body only to realize she wasn't wearing any clothes.

"Noell, why are you naked?" I ask and she sits up.

"Because I'm a free spirit Papa! Clothes are too restricting on my soul!" She whines and I sit up, pointing to the door.

"Go put clothes on right now young lady, there are strangers surrounding this boat and your daddy and I don't need our child's...just go!" I yell at her and she reluctantly obeys, stomping her little bare feet as she goes.

I fall back into bed with a loud groan running my hands over my face with stress.

"That crazy child, My god, what have we created?" I mutter under my breath before rolling off the bed and painfully stretching as I force myself to get up.

"PAPA!" My daughter screams my name in a way that had my paternal instincts on high alert and I quickly rush out of the bedroom, hitting the wall first since these stupid hallways were so narrow and bouncing downstairs.

"What?!" I pant and my daughter; who was now at least wearing a nightgown, stood in the middle of the kitchen and points to her little brother, who was currently standing on the kitchen counter rummaging through the cabinet with his little three-year-old self.

"Kaeson Harper Tremblay, just what do you think you're doing?" I ask and the little monkey peeks out from behind the door to the cabinet with a mouth stuffed full of Oreo's.

"I'm hungry," he grunts and moves back to the Oreo's but slips on the wet counter and falls back. Thank the Gods I'm there to catch my little guy before he comes to his demise.

Scared by the fall, he instantly starts to cry and I pull my son close, calming him and my mini heart attack at the same time.

"It's way too early in the morning for the shit," I mutter before taking him and placing him in a chair, holding his shoulders as I wipe the black crumbs from his chubby little cheeks. His light brown eyes flooded with tears.

"Hey, you're okay. But this is why we tell you not to climb on things. If I hadn't been there you could have cracked your head open or worse," I warn him and he nods in understanding.

"Yes Papa, I'm sowy," he sniffles and I take a second to chill. I've got wannabe Tarzan for a toddler and a free-spirited hippie for a five-year-old.

They just had to come out more like me than Kaeden.

But Noell was now in a dress of sorts and Kaeson was unharmed so I can't be too mad.

"I just don't want you to get hurt, I love you very much," I tell Kaeson before kissing his soft dark brown locks, his big brown eyes now wide and alert from my forgiveness.

"Alright, who's hungry?"

"Yes...no, I never said that...yes, I understand but...stop...no,"

After settling the kids in the kitchen with breakfast, I went on the hunt around the large yacht for their daddy and baby brother.

Checking every spare bedroom and living room until I finally reached the top deck and found him laying in the shade on the large hammock looking out towards the crystal blue ocean and the beautiful coast of St. Tropez.

Kaeden was gently swinging in the breeze with our last baby fast asleep on his bare chest.

My wonderful husband had his eyes closed as he talked on the phone with his assistant, dressed in only a pair of blue shorts, his original shirt lying on the floor along with an empty baby bottle along with the baby's shirt.

Our four-month-old Rion was now sporting his Kae's sunglasses and matching blue shorts as his little blonde head bobbed up and down with every breath his daddy took and he sucked on his thumb while his other fist was clenched around Kaeden's finger.

Kaeden opens his eyes as if he feels my presence and smiles, ending the call and nodding for me to come closer.

"Good morning beautiful, what are you doing up?" He asks and I shake my head.

"Why do you think? Noell was running around the boat naked and Kaeson almost committed suicide for Oreo's," I grunt and he chuckles gently.

"Mmm sounds like our little monsters, come here," He calls out to me and I join him on the hammock, wrapping my arm around him while toying with Rion's little curls.

"Where do you think the blonde hair came from?" I ask him and he gently kisses my temple.

"My mother and father had blonde hair, but I know for a fact his gray eyes are from you," He says and I rub my baby's soft back.

"Did he throw up again?" I ask and Kae shakes his head.

"Surprisingly only a little bit this time, where are the other babies?" He asks and I sigh, resting my head on his shoulder.

"I left them eating pancakes but we have about three minutes of peace before they come out looking for us," I calculate as I sit up and take the rare moment to kiss him, careful not to disturb the baby as I do.

In the middle of our kiss, his phone starts to ring and he groans.

"Does that thing ever stop?" I ask as I catch my breath and he takes his phone out of his pocket, the caller ID showed it was the British government calling once again.

He hands the baby to me and gets off the hammock before standing at the edge of the deck and dropping his phone into the water causing me to gasp so loud Rion wakes up.

"Ah, oh no, such slippery fingers, whatever will I do?" he says in a dull sarcastic voice while my jaw had unhinged.

"Y-you can't do that!" I stutter and he just shrugs, walking back to the hammock and pulls me into his arms with his chin rested on my shoulder as I take off the baby's sunglasses and he opens his little gray eyes.

"But I just did," He says and cups Rion's head with his hand.

"But you have a country to run!" I yell at him as I smack his chest and he winces.

"Yeah and I also have a husband and three beautiful babies who require my full attention. England will be just fine without their Prime Minister for a few hours. They were just calling to annoy me about stupid shit parliament can figure out for themselves." He explains and I tilt my head so I could see his face as he closed his eyes again with his arms around Rion and I.

Instead of yelling at him I kiss him again. That was probably one of the sexiest things he's ever done as prime minister.

"Ewww,"

I hear Noell and Kaeson squeal behind us and Kaeden picks up his head.

"Oh you think that's gross? Then it's your turn now!" He warns and gets up to chase after our little ones who were running across the deck as fast as their little legs could carry them.

"Daddy no! Stay away!" They squeal and I watch them. Laughing as Kaeson and Noell are swooped up in Kaeden's arms and attacked with kisses. While laughing at my children's capture I feel my own phone start to go off and shift Rion to my other hand as I pick it up without checking.

"Hello?"

"Finley where are you?"

"I'm in St. Tropez with Kae and the kids why?"

"We need you in Bridgeport,"

"What? Why?"

"Finley, come here as soon as you can,"

"No! Can't it wait! I'm just trying to enjoy-"

"King Henry is dead and he had no heirs,"

I drop my phone as my father says the words, feeling like I was about to faint.

"Fin? Hey babe are you okay?" Kaeden asks, seeing my expression and dropping the kids to see what was wrong.

"Fin?" Kae tries to shake me from this nightmare and I wished I had never answered the phone.

"FIN!"

"I'm king,"

I state and Kaeden's smile fades.

"My cousin passed...I'm king of the island now,"

I say, all joy lost in that single second as Kae drops to his knees in front of me and puts his head down. Our children stop playing and ask us what's wrong but we ignore them.

"No...I don't want this...no Kae," I cry out but Kaeden stays still as he leans forward and bows until his forehead touches the ground in a long-winded tradition I didn't ask to be a part of.

"Long live King Finley Oliver Tremblay,"
