Chapter 8
Leam's Chain
As expected Hawi didn't show up in the café in the morning. I don't want to call him to disturb, I bet, his dick still dig in to someone, somewhere.
"Sir, there's a delivery." my staff informed me.
"Okey, I take it." I thought it was kind of goods from our supplier. But I was stunned when a delivery man brought a bouquet of flowers.
"Mr Chain Ramirez?" the delivery man asked.
"Y-yes..." I smiled ackwardly.
"Please, kindly sign here Sir."
I signed. And picked the flowers. I was hesitant to look the greeting card. Who's gonna send this flower?
"I hope this helps you to
brighten your day."
Without sender name? Well maybe it's a mistaken delivery. In fairness the bouquet looked expensive. And it's gonna wasted if I throw it away, so decided to keep and place it in the glass vase.
"Sir, I'm jealous someone sent you beautiful flowers. I hope I can be beautiful as you." one of my staff commented.
"Come on, I don't even know who sent it."
"Maybe someone special to you, or someone who admire you a lot."
"Or someone who's mistaken." I said.
That whole day, my staff teasing me everytime they see those flowers.
Hawi came after the café closing time.
"Oh, we're already closed Sir." I said to teased him.
"Well, I'm not here for the coffee, I'm here because I'm so curious about the expensive bouquet that everyone gossiping in the group chat." he teased back.
"So, are you curious about that?" I asked him smiling and pointed the vase.
"It's true?! From who?" he said in disbelief.
"I don't know.. A stalker maybe?" I joked.
"Then, you have a big time stalker. Not everyone can buy those expensive flowers."
"Umn, I don't care." I ignore.
"Hey! This is a good chance to move on and find someone who can date you."
"Are you some kind of a nuts?! I don't even know who's the damn sender." I fused.
"If ever he or she gonna approached you soon will you intertain it?" Hawi asked in curiosity.
"It depends, if she, no! I'm not interested in women but if he, I must think about it first."
"Such a peaky bitch. Just give it to me if it's a woman okey."
"Such a greedy living bastard you are!" I declared.
After we chitchat for bit hour, we part ways. I decided to go home to my parents house because of my work in the company tomorrow while Hawi went to his apartment to gained his lost energy back again.
My mom open the door for me when I got home. "Good evening Mom." I greeted.
"Good evening Son, You're home late."
"Yeah, I was the one who closed the cafe. It's Hawi's day off in weekends."
"How's your business?" she asked as we seated in the sofa.
"It's doing fine."
"That's good to know sweetie. But take time to get rest okey. You look pale and thinner." she commented.
"Dont worry Mom, I can take care of my self. You, you're the one who must take care of your self and Dad."
"Sweetie, thank you for taking time with us, I know this is not comfortable for you, and this is not what you want either, but still doing your best to pleased us. I'm really sorry. I hope you could forgive us for the time we lost and let us make it up you sweetie." my mom said with her teary eyes.
"Don't cry Mom. It's okey now. See, I'm Okey. It's all in past now. Don't worry about it. " I hugged her tight. When my eyes looked up, I saw my dad staring us.
In the morning at the dinning table.
"What is the updates about the project with Leam?" dad asked.
"He said he send me the documents when it's ready to sign up." I said.
"Good, I wanna see it before you signed."
"Well, I think you're the one who need to sign that. Beside you're the real CEO."
He looked at me. "You're in the chair right now. You supposed to act like the real CEO. You can sign and decide for yourself."
"So, that means I can do whatever I want while I'm the CEO? Are you trusting me now Sir?" I said sarcastic. He just ignored me. "Since, you said that. I'm planning to give the employees a treat. It's either a party or outing for the company anniversary sake." I continued.
"It's a waste of time."
"Why not? I'm doing this for thanking them for their hard work and giving the company higher profits. I heard you give the executives a formal party, why not the company employees also? Beside, they are the reason why you and all the shareholders earned a million of a million." I look at him. "Do I need an approval from the executives or from you perhaps?" I asked.
He sighed. "No, you can do that without any approval. A CEO is a CEO. Just sign the plan for the record."
I smiled. For the first time I won the conversation with my dad. "Thank you Sir. You're invited to join us if you like."
"Umm. I think it first. Quickly. Eat. You gonna be late." he said. Mom can't hide the smile in her face.
