Chapter 5

I was in my office. I'm thankful that my dad decided to attend the board meeting today. I can concentrate to the other work I have now. I'm relieved that I  don't need to see Leam in the conference room. I better stayed here until the meeting is done and all the members gone.

"Sir?" it's secretary Claire knocking on the door.

"Come in." she entered. "I thought your with my dad in the meeting?" I asked.

"Yes Sir. I'm just here to tell you, that your father wanted you to go in the conference room right now." she said.

"What! B-but why? Is there a problem?" I asked.

"I don't know Sir. He just ordered me to send you there."

"O-okey. I just fix myself then I go there." Oh shit, I didn't expected this.

"What to fixed Sir, you already look handsome."

"Oh come on, Secretary Claire. It won't work. I got nervous right now."

"Its not obvious, Sir." she tease.

My legs are tremble as I go near the conference room. The secretary knock for me.

"Excuse me gentlemen. CEO Chain Ramirez is already here." the secretary said while I took my entrance.

"G-good afternoon everyone." I look my dad and go near him.

"What's the problem d-dad? Why you sent me here? I asked whispered.

"There's no problem. I just want to introduce you to the members of the board." he said then he look everyone there. "Everyone, meet the acting CEO of Ramirez Group of Company... Mr Chain Ramirez." he announced.

I don't know how to react. I'm too nervous. All eyes is on me.

"Again, good afternoon to everyone. I'm Chain Ramirez. the acting CEO of this company for the meantime. I hope I can  satisfy your expectations and maintain the first class rates of this company while I'm doing my job." I said.

" I heard you work hard this days, Mr CEO, can you do the report for us?" Leam smile while asking me. This nerves!

I look my dad and he nod to me. "S-sure. It's my p-pleasure Sir." I said to Leam with a fake smile. I start the report according to the documents submitted to me. I give all the details that I read and studied for the past two days. When I ended, everyone give their comments.

"How come you memorized all the details, since they told me you've been doing your job for just 3 days now." one of the share holder.

"You're a good choice for your job. Your father must proud of you."

"Thank you Sir." I said.

"Gentlemen if there is no other question, the meeting is ended now." my dad announced.

Finally I can leave this room. I felt suffocating. "D-dad, can I go back to my office now." I asked.

"No. Stay. CEO Napolles have something to say." What now?

I calm myself and wait for him to talk. I didn't look at him. I'm feel ackward. After that day of our confrontation, I didn't expected to meet this man again.

"Congratulation. You did well." he said.

"T-thank you. Is that all?"

"Leam has a propose project. He want a collaboration with us." my dad interrupted.

"I told uncle that I want to discuss this with you, since your the CEO now."

"Okey. Let me hear it." I prepared myself to what he wants to talk.

"I didn't bring the documents, if it is okey with you I discuss it in another day. Can we make an appointment?"

"Sure, no problem as long it's for business." I clearly said. "Just tell the secretary."

"Make sure you pay attention to this project." My dad ordered. As usual he have an eye for Leam.

"Yes Sir." I rise to my chair."Can I take my leave first, Sir?" my dad nod. I left that room without looking to the people I left behind.

This is bad. With that project, I have no choice but deal the present of Leam in the future.

I decided to call my mom to inform her about not going home this evening. I'm planning to visit the café and sleep in my apartment.

"Wow! You look great with that suit." Hawi compliment when I entered the café.

"I had a meeting with the shareholders today that's why I need to wear this damn suit." I pouted. "How's going on here?" I asked him.

"As you can see, everything was perfect without you sweetie."

"How dare you telling me that, im still your boss bastard!" I joked.

He laugh. "Come here, give me a hug. I missed you." he open his arm. I hugged him tight. "Are you okey?" he asked.

"Yah."I replied. We stay like that for a minute. "I planning to sleep in my apartment tonight."

"That's good. We have time to chitchat." he said excited.

After we closed the cafe, Hawi and I decided to buy a take out for dinner. We planned to eat in my apartment.

"Oh, still look clean." I commented to my place.

"Of course I cleaned it yesterday. I have this feeling you will escape from your dungeon soon." he joked.

"Yah, right!" I rolled my eyes.

We prepare our food. I missed having dinner with Hawi. He's not a boring person.

"How's being a CEO? He asked.

"Pressured and exhausted.. " I smiled.

"I think you're doing fine, you can still smile."

"Just because I'm with a clown right now."

"So, you find me funny ah?!"

I smiled. "What do you think?"

"Chain Ramirez, you living bitch!" I laughed loud.

We had some beer after the dinner because Hawi had no plan of living yet.

"Are you and your dad talk already? He asked.

"Yah, sometimes, but it's all about business."

"At least, it's a good start right?"

"Maybe. But my big problem is Leam. He's one of the company shareholders."

"Really?"

"Umn. We met in the conference room this afternoon. That jerk, he's a real actor, he use to act as if where okey. And worst our company have to work with his company."

"That will be hard for you sweetie. You can't just ignored him."

"I know, I hope my dad will getting well soon. I want to go back with my life again.."

Hawi put up his glass asking for a toss. I smile and put up my beer with his. "Fighting!"
