Chapter 448
The Imposter Bride (Natalia and Magnus)
Just as she was about to pull open the door of the hospital room, Magnus suddenly said, âWait a sec.â
Gabby paused mid-step and stiffly turned around. âWhat is it, Mr. Andersen?â
Magnus looked back at Gabby with gratitude. âGabby, youâre a good gal. I canât thank you enough for all your help these past few days. I wonât forget what youâve done for me.â
A flicker of panic crossed Gabbyâs eyes as she waved her hands dismissively. âOh, itâs nothing, Mr. Andersen. I was just doing my job. If thereâs nothing else, Iâll be on my way.â
âSure thing. Once Natalia is discharged, Iâll make sure to reward you handsomely for your troubles,â Magnus said, waving goodbye to Gabby to let her know she could leave.
After exiting the room, Gabby closed the door gently behind her. Shecouldnât resist glancing back at the securely shut door, a troubled look on her face. Her expression showed hesitation and inner turmoil, as if she was struggling with a fierce battle inside her mind. It took a while before she bit her lip, and her face was set with determination. She hurried toward the nursery.
The nursery was tucked away at the far end of the ward. Gabby stopped at the door, pulled a hat out of her bag, and let her hair down before she slowly walked in.
A nurse was busy bathing the newborns inside. Gabby had sharp eyes, and she quickly spotted the little one with a wristband labeled âNatalia.â Her eyes sparkled as she watched the tiny legs kicking, and she gently picked up the baby, kissing her tender cheek and cooing, âHey there, princess.
Can you give me a smile?â
The nurse, seeing Gabby so affectionately holding the baby, asked, âAnd who are you with, dear?â
âOh, Iâm Nataliaâs sister. She is still out cold after giving birth, so I came to check on this little cutie. Isnât she adorable?â Gabbyâs response was smooth and convincing.
Thinking Gabby was indeed Nataliaâs sister, the nurse smiled kindly. âSo youâre Mrs. Andersenâs sister? Well, thatâs wonderful. Iâm a bit swamped at the moment. Would you mind watching the princess while I bathe another little one? I really appreciate it.â
Gabby smiled agreeably, cradling the baby and waving the nurse off to tend to her tasks. âYou folks are working so hard; itâs no trouble at all. Iâll hold her while you get on with your work.â
âThank you, dear,â the nurse said gratefully. âWeâre a bit short-staffed today. Iâll be right back.â
âItâs really no problem. Take your time. Iâd love to cuddle her a bit more,â Gabby said, kissing Nataliaâs daughter once more.
Once the nurse had taken another baby into the bathing room, the smile on Gabbyâs face vanished without a trace. Holding the infant tight, she quickly left the nursery.
Suddenly, the sky erupted with deafening thunder, vicious streaks of lightning were tearing through the heavens, and torrential rain began to pour down.
Gabby, clutching Natalia's daughter, hurried out of the hospital into the relentless night rain, hesitating for a moment before looking back at the hospital and whispering, "I'm sorry." Then she dashed into the downpour, got into her car parked at the hospital entrance, and drove straight to the docks.
The relentless rain seemed to pour down the fury of the heavens without end. At the docks, a yacht waited, and a tall figure was standing aboard.
Gabby got out of her car, still holding the baby she had taken from the hospital, and stepped onto the yacht.
The figure laughed uproariously upon seeing Gabby had executed the plan flawlessly. His laughter was wild and chilling, echoing far into the stormy night. "Ha! Magnus, oh, Magnus, never thought you'd see the day, did you? This is karma! Karma!"
He reached out to take the baby from Gabby's arms, but she sidestepped him. "She's just been born and is still fragile. I'll hold her."
The rain grew heavier as if the skies were venting their rage without end.
Not long after Gabby boarded with the infant, the yacht set sail into the sea, leaving Hawaii far behind until it disappeared without a trace...

A year later, Dubai.
Dubai, the jewel of the Middle East. A city paved with gold, opulent and prosperous. Home to the Burj Al Arab, the towering Burj Khalifa, and the expansive Dubai Mall. A metropolis where even the air dripped with luxury.
In one of Dubai's most luxurious neighborhoods lived an unusual family of three, a young couple and their cherubic little princess. They were none other than Gabby and the mysterious figure known as Dummy, and the infant girl they had whisked away from Hawaii.
Before Nataliaâs fateful night of childbirth, Gabby, thanks to the trust Magnus had placed in her, had already prepared the accounts, and stealthily embezzled three hundred million from the company's funds. With all of Magnus' focus on Natalia, he was oblivious to any discrepancies in the company's finances, and Paul, who was temporarily transferred to manage the accounts, was even less aware.

Following Dummy's plan, she had successfully won over the trust of Magnus and Natalia, only to betray them when they were most vulnerable. Not only did she take off with a substantial portion of Magnus' assets in Hawaii, but she also casually kidnapped Natalia's daughter, who was only hours old.
After leaving Hawaii by yacht, Gabby and Dummy went into hiding in a remote country, off the grid.
Magnus, devastated by the loss of his daughter, was furious, launching a global manhunt for Gabby. But even the most skilled hunter struggled to catch a fox that had gone to ground.
Gabby and Dummy had been on the run, ducking and weaving through cities to avoid the relentless pursuit of Magnus. As luck would have it, they managed to liquidate the fortune they had amassedâ a cool three hundred million.
Dubai, a city glittering like a jewel, ripe with opportunity, welcomed them with open arms. Dummy, with the savvy of a seasoned entrepreneur, quickly put their wealth to work. It took him less than six months to multiply their assets several times over, catapulting him to the status of one of Dubai's elite.
Behind every great fortune, there was a great partner, and Dummy had Gabby. She was the powerhouse support behind his success. He made good on his promise to her, taking her hand in marriage and settling down in the most opulent residential district Dubai had to offer.
