CHAPTER 46
CEO
Chapter 46
Over time, without needing to say much, Scott came to understand her. Maintaining hist gentlemanly demeanor, he didnât offer too much explanation: âItâs nothing, just go ahead and eat.â
Yet, there was a twinge of shame in Ninaâs heart. To her, Scott was merely an old classmate, hardly event a friend, yet he was so attentive to her needs.
Picking up her fork, she tried to eat the meat in her bowl. However, she couldnât shake off a nauseating smell, which killed her appetite.
âWhatâs wrong? Canât eat anymore?â Scott asked.
Setting down her fork, Nina didnât want to admit. she had lost her appetite. Instead, she replied, âI have a small stomach, and Iâm already full.â
Nash stood up. âSince everyoneâs eaten their fill, letâs stop here.â
Nina could sense his displeasure in Nashâs words, so she glanced at him, only to find his cold indifference. Meanwhile, Julia was attending to Zion. With no other choice, Nina had to see Scott off. Seeing Ninaâs pale complexion, Scott advised, âIf youâre not feeling well, you donât have to see me off. Go back and rest well. Iâll come see you again next time.â
Nina had many doubts in her heart, but with Nash present, she refrained from asking too much. She nodded slightly. âOkay, take care then.â
âYeah, goodbye.â
Without lingering too long, Scott took one last glance at Nina before leaving
Nash picked up his coat and walked to the door. âWhy does Scott understand you so well? Were you two that close in the past?â
âI donât know,â Nina replied.
Nash pressed further, âCanât you see it? Scott has strong feelings for you.â
Nina looked up at Nash. âThereâs nothing like that. Please donât make baseless claims. He and I are just classmates. We havenât been in touch for so many years. How could he possibly have feelings for me?â There was no reason for that; they had only met a few times.
âDonât contact him anymore!â
Nina was puzzled. âWhy canât I contact him? He and I are friends.â
âI donât like it.â
âYou dislike many people. It doesnât mean I have to dislike them too.â
Seeing her complete lack of awareness, Nashâs expression became even more displeased. âNina, you are so naive!â
His words made Nina feel a bit
ridiculous. âNash, donât you think itâs
unreasonable for you to be so upset? Shouldnât you think about why, after being.

married for so long, you still donât understand me as well as Scott does?â
She looked at him, even though he was very angry, she still wanted to tell him: âBecause in your world, there is no room for me. You donât care about me, nor do you know my preferences. Even my little interests and hobbies are known through others. So you have no right to criticize me!â
He understood Miranda.
But he didnât understand her.
âNina, anyone is fine, but not him!â Nashâs expression turned serious.
Nina stared at his stern face. âWhat if I do?â
âThen weâll get divorced!â
Nina kept glancing at him as those
words quickly came out of his mouth When she brought up divorce, he could refuse, but when he mentioned it, she didnât even have the right to object.
She felt as if Nash had complete control over her, and she was powerless to resist.
Nina felt both angry and amused, wondering why she ended up in this situation.
A surge of nausea rose up, making her unable to hold back the urge to retch. âUrghâ¦â
