CHAPTER 216
CEO
âQuincy, hurry and take her to the hospital!â
âYes, Mr. York.â Upon receiving the order, Quincy immediately complied.
Miranda looked at Nash. âArenât you coming with me?â
âI still have some things to take care of here. Iâll come see you after Iâm done,â Nash replied.
Knowing he would still come to see her, Miranda felt relieved. âAlright, Iâll wait for you. Iâll go to the hospital first.â
With that said, she glanced at Nina once more.
Nina remained silent. Nash had always been attentive to Miranda, and now that she was seriously injured, wouldnât he be extremely worried?
There was nothing she could do but watch, feeling helpless.
âAre you alright?â Nash suddenly turned to Nina.
Nina casually replied, her hands tucked in her pockets, âWhen I arrived, Linda was already dead. The police told me that if there were no other suspects, Xanderâs death would be closed.â âAre you sure it was Linda?â
Nina nodded. âYes, itâs confirmed. Sheâs dead, and thereâs nothing left.â
Resentment would dissipate over time. Initially, she felt indignant about being manipulated, but surprisingly, she let go of it so quickly.
âNow that the case is closed, letâs go,â Nash said.
âWhere are we going?â Nina asked.
âWhere do you want to go?â Nash hesitated before asking.
Nina just looked outside. âMiranda is seriously injured. Arenât you going to see her later? So why ask me where to go? Itâs not like weâre going the same way. If youâre going to see her, then go ahead.â She appeared generous, but her hands tightened in her pockets.
Deep down, there was a lingering bitterness, a knot she could never erase.
Nash stared at Nina intently, and when she did not say anything else and urged him to leave, he asked, âWhere are you going alone?â
âIâm going home.â
Nina took a deep breath. âMy own home. My parents said I can go back to sleep there.â
She did not need to return to the York residence.
âOkay,â Nash responded lightly.
Nina tightened her fists again and continued, âDonât you find this whole thing suspicious? Linda went to see Miranda, and then she fell from her building.â
Nashâs face showed little emotion as he asked, âWhat did the police say?â
Nina pursed her lips and said helplessly. âThey said it was an accident.â
âIf they say itâs an accident, then itâs an accident. Trust the policeâs judgment,â Nash stated.
Setting aside the issue of the accident, what was suspicious was why she wanted to harm Miranda.
âWhy did she go see Miranda?â
This was something she could not understand. Lindaâs motive for harming Miranda seemed too impulsive.
Nina had concerns, but Nash would
ultimately believe Miranda, not her. There was no point in arguing further, so she relaxed and said, âMaybe itâs just a coincidence. Now that Linda is dead and thereâs no evidence, itâs concluded. Iâlkinform Lily about this later.â
âOkay.â

âOkay,â Nina replied softly.
Nash did not seem to have any intention of leaving and asked again, âDid you drive here?â
âYes, I did,â Nina answered.
After a pause, Nash contemplated for a while. âIâll need to go to the company later. Do you want to come along?â
