Hearing Shivikaâs question, Prafull remained silent for a moment. Then he said, âI got a call last night. I had to urgently return to Gujarat for some work. I thought Iâd leave last night, but when I came to your room, you werenât there, and I could smell alcohol. I realized that you had been drinking. When I reached the terrace while searching for you, I saw you with Hardik there. I heard your conversation with him. You might not remember what he said because you were probably drunk, but I heard everything. He loves you, Shivika. His fear was the only thing holding him back, and now he has overcome it. Whatever Iâve heard about him, Iâve heard it from your mouth and from Shivayâs. From what I know about Hardik, I understand that he is a good guy. If he decides to stay with someone, heâll stay with them for life. And what more could a father want? Just that the person to whom he gives his daughterâs hand will never leave her.â
âBut Papa, he has hurt me; he broke your daughter so much that I went into depression, and still you trust him?â Shivika said, crying.
âLook, Shivika, Iâve seen that Hardik understands his mistake and has tried to correct it. Yes, he made a mistake, but heâs very trustworthy. Last night he was with you; you were drunk, but he never touched you inappropriately. If he had wanted to, he could have done it earlier. But he has always respected you. And a boy who respects women is the kind of boy any father would want for his daughter.â
Shivaay, who was entering the room, said, âPapa is absolutely right, Shivika. If we keep holding onto past mistakes, our lives will be too short to punish them all. But if we move forward, even a short life can become very beautiful. Hardik has admitted his mistake and has tried to fix it. If heâs with you, youâll become the old Shivika again.â
Shivika hugged Prafull while crying. Praful lovingly kissed her forehead and stroked her hair. After a while, Praful left.
Shivaay was about to leave too when Shivika grabbed his hand and made him sit back on the sofa, saying, âFrom your words, it seems like youâre in love too, and youâre waiting for your love as well.â
Avoiding eye contact, Shivaay said, âWhat are you talking about?â
Turning his face towards her, Shivika said, âJust as youâre my brother and know everything about me, Iâm also your sister. Iâve seen that look in your eyes when you see Swati. When you were talking to Swati so authoritatively yesterday, I realized that you love her. But today, I see some emptiness in your eyes. What happened? Tell me.â
After Shivika insisted, Shivaay told her everything about Swati. After hearing everything, Shivika said, âIn a way, she isnât wrong, Shivaay.â
Shivaay looked at her, waiting to understand how Swati wasnât wrong. He had never touched Swati inappropriately, so how could she say that he just wanted her body?
Seeing the question in his eyes, Shivika explained, âLook, Shivaay, neither Swatiâs nor Shwetaâs life has been easy. Swati saw her sisterâs life being ruined before her eyes. She saw how her sister loved a boy, and he left her. She was even forced to marry a guy while pregnant, who then ruined her life. Swati was raising Shwet alone in a city like Mumbai without anyoneâs help, so imagine the hardships she must have faced. And as for Shweta, after living in such an environment, no girl could ever give love another chance. But in my opinion, Shweta should give it a chance if Abhinav truly loves her. And as for Swati, she has it in her mind that boys only deceive. So, both you and Abhinav have to assure Swati and Shweta that youâll never leave them.â
Shivaay, who was listening intently to Shivikaâs words, slowly nodded and began to think about what she had said.
A little later, everyone was in the hall, including Shweta, Swati, and Shwet. Swati folded her hands and said to everyone, âThank you. No matter how much I thank you all, it will never be enough. Youâve saved not just my sisterâs life but countless other girlsâ lives. Youâve brought my sister back to me. I will never forget this debt. Thank you so much.â
Alok placed his hand on Swatiâs head and said, âThereâs no need to thank us in this way, dear. We didnât do anything special. Whatever happened was for the best. So now forget the past. Youâve got your sister back, and youâve got your family, so be happy. And if you ever need anything in the future, donât hesitate to come here. You are just like our daughter.â
Swati smiled hearing Alokâs words. Shweta came to Anokhi, held her hands, and said, âYou are like an angel sent by God to me, Anokhi. You came into my life and pulled me out of that hell. I never thought I would ever meet my sister or my son again in this life, but your arrival made this wish come true. Thank you so much.â
âWhy are you saying this, Shweta Di? I didnât do anything. If it werenât for you all, who knows what would have happened to me? Our plan succeeded only because of all of you, so donât thank me; otherwise, Iâll have to say thank you a lot too.â
Anokhi said innocently, and Shweta smiled. Anokhi glanced at Swati and then, holding Shwetaâs hand, said, âCan I say one more thing, Shweta Di? This life is very short. You never know what might happen. So if happiness is knocking on your door, donât keep the door closed. Open those closed doors. Let the happiness in. The pain of losing your love, the agony of not seeing your love, and the thought that he might leave this world foreverâI know what it feels like. So I just want you to be happy, and if someone else can be happy because of you, then give them that happiness too.â
Everyone fell silent after hearing Anokhiâs words and looked at Swati. Anokhiâs eyes were also on Swati, while Shweta listened with her eyes lowered. Swati remained silent, listening to Anokhiâs words.
After Anokhi finished speaking, Swati smiled slightly and said to Anokhi, âAnokhi, youâre not wrong; youâre right in your place, and Iâm right in mine. What I think is not wrong either. For you, love makes life beautiful, but for me, love destroys life.â Saying this, Swati glanced at Shivaay, who was looking at her intently. Then, turning back to Anokhi, she said, âIn my life, love has no importance. The only things that matter to me are my sister and my Shwet. My sisterâs life was ruined once because of love, and I couldnât do anything then. But this time, I wonât let that ruin come close. Youâve done me a great favor. If you ask for my life in return, Iâll give it, but itâs not possible for me to agree with you.â
Saying this, Swati took Shwetaâs hand and left with Shwet. Shivika looked at Shivaay, who was watching Shwati leave. Vikram, Rohit, and Rishabhâs eyes were also on Shivaay.
Vikram bent down to whisper in Rishabhâs ear, who was sitting in a wheelchair, âMan, this girl rejected Shivaay even before he could propose. Shivaay is going to have to chew on iron nuts to make her learn the lesson of love.â
âAnd if you donât stop gossiping, Iâll make you chew on those iron nuts myself,â Rishabh said, glaring at him, making Vikram stand up straight.
Archana also spoke up, âNow Omkar and I should leave too.â
Hearing Archana, everyone looked at her. Anokhi quickly came to her, held her hand, and said, âWhy, Mumma? Where are you going?â
âIâm going home with Omkar.â
âBut why, dear? Why donât you stay here? Are you having any problems here?â Dada ji asked.
Archana smiled and shook her head, saying, âNo, Uncle, why would I have any problems? But this is my daughterâs home; how can I stay here?â
Then Rishabh came to her and said, âIf not at your daughterâs home, then stay at your sonâs home. You are my mom too. Youâve been away from your family for so many years, and now that you have a chance to stay together, youâre saying itâs your daughterâs home.â
Shobha also placed her hand on Archanaâs shoulder and said with a smile, âYes, Archana, are you stuck with old customs? What daughter, what son? Look at her; sheâs wilted just hearing that youâre leaving, and I canât see my daughterâs wilted face. So, even if I have to kidnap you to keep you in this house, I will.â
Everyone laughed at Shobhaâs words. Anokhiâs wilted face also lit up. Ajay then whispered to Alok, "By the way, brother, you should be careful around sister-in-law. You saw, didnât you? She might even arrange a kidnapping for her daughter's happiness. So, just imagine what she might do to you if you make a mistake in the heat of the moment."
Alok glared at him. At that moment, Sanjay, who was standing on the other side of Alok, placed his hand on Alok's shoulder and said, "Yes, Alok, Ajay is right, and it's only fair for sister-in-law to act like that. After all, if the son is a mafia, then the mother of the mafia king could be quite dangerous too, right?"
Alok removed Sanjay's hand from his shoulder and, glaring at both of them, said, "You both don't seem to have anything better to say. If you spent this time with your wife instead of talking nonsense, it would be better for your own old age."
"Old age!" Ajay and Sanjay said together. Everyone's eyes turned toward the three of them, and they fell silent. Dada ji said, " What you three are talking quietly? You've grown so much, yet you still haven't outgrown your childish antics."
Seeing them being scolded, everyone started smiling. Omkar stood up from his place, walked over to Archana, and said, "Alright, Ma, you stay here, I'm leaving."
"Where are you going now?" Anokhi said, tugging at him a little. One by one, everyone was talking about leaving, so she was getting irritated.
Omkar smiled, placing his hand on her cheek, and said, "Why are you getting so irritated? I'm leaving, but that doesn't mean I'm leaving the house or leaving you. I have some work, there's a match. I'm just going to Australia for that. I'll be back in a few days, don't worry."
"Oh, so you have a match, alright. Play well and come back victorious. And don't come back injured, and come back soon. By the way, when are you leaving, how long will you be gone, and when will you be back? By the way, who are you playing against? Do they play well? You'll beat them, right?" Anokhi's talkative nature had resurfaced, and she started bombarding him with nonstop questions. Seeing this, Rishabh, Vikram, and everyone else began to smile. No one had ever been able to escape Anokhi's barrage of questions.
Omkar, a bit surprised, said, "Stop, stop, how many questions will you ask at once? I'm leaving today, right now. And as for when I'll be back, that date isn't fixed yet, but I'll call you when I have a fixed date. And as for who the match is against, you'll see on the day of the match on TV."
Omkar pinched her cheek and left. Anokhi, rubbing her cheek, watched him leave. Everyone had a smile on their lips, except Riya. For some reason, her face had fallen, and she got up and went to her room. A little while later, Omkar left Shergill Mansion.
Riya sat quietly in the garden, staring at the book in her lap. Her mind was nowhere near the book. Just then, Rishabh placed a file on the book, bringing Riya back to her senses.
She looked at Rishabh and said, "Bhai, you and what's this?" As she spoke, she opened the file. Inside were some company papers and a flight ticket to Australia.
Seeing the ticket to Australia, Riya looked at Rishabh. Rishabh's face was calm. He said to Riya, " Papa told me everything, and I'm giving you this ticket to Australia because there's a small work at the company there that you need to do."
"If it's a small job, you can send anyone, why me?" Riya said softly, lowering her gaze.
Rishabh placed his hand on her head and said, "No, this small job is very important, and only you can do it. And I hope that when the job is done, you'll come back with a smile on your lips, happiness in your eyes, and peace on your face. As Cupcake said, life is very short. Look at me, if I hadn't survived the accident, I wouldn't be here today. Everyone makes mistakes because we're all human, right? So give it a chance." With that, Rishabh walked away.
Riya remained lost in his words, looking at the flight ticket. All the past events were running through her mind-meeting Omkar for the first time, their friendship, Omkar's concern, care, love, the truth of his betrayal, Omkar's apology, expressing his feelings, Alok's advice, Omkar's pain, and Rishabh's words. Everything was playing in her mind.
Nighttime_
Shivika was about to enter her room when Hardik called her from behind, "Shivika." Hearing his voice, Shivika turned around. Hardik came over to her and asked, "Shivika, did Uncle say something to you? Did he scold or get angry with you?"
Shivika didn't say anything, just shook her head in no. Seeing this, Hardik breathed a sigh of relief. He was worried that, just like when Prafull had slapped him, Uncle might have raised his hand on Shivika again.
Shivika started to leave without saying anything, but Hardik called her again, "Shivika." She stopped again and looked at him. Hardik asked, "Do you remember anything from last night?"
He wanted to hear her say that she remembered everything he said. But Shivika's response was 'no.' She shook her head again, and Hardik's face fell.
Shivika went into her room, closed the door, and leaned against it. Meanwhile, Hardik stood for a moment, looking at the closed door, and then walked away.
Shivika, with her eyes closed, leaned against the door, taking deep breaths. She whispered softly, "I remember everything, everything you said."
She opened her eyes, and there were tears in them, but also a sparkle. She walked over to the mirror and, looking at her reflection with tear-filled eyes, smiled and said, "I remember everything, Hardik, how you said you loved me. I waited so long to hear that, longed for it. And you chose to say it when I was intoxicated! I never thought that the situation would be like this when you finally said it. I remember everything, and I've decided to follow what papa and Shivaay said. I've decided to give you a chance, but I'm not going to tell you that. You confessed your love to me when I was intoxicated, but I was sober when I said it, so until you say it again, I'm not going to say anything. Even if it means seeing that disappointment on your face. After all, you disappointed me so much, you made me suffer, right? Now it's my turn, now see how I make you suffer." Saying this, a mischievous smile appeared on her lips.
Rishabh's Room_
Rishabh was lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling. He turned his head to the side where Anokhi used to sleep, but she wasn't there at that moment.
Rishabh ran his hand over her pillow and said, "Is she still going to sleep with her mom? I let her sleep there for one day, but that doesn't mean she has to sleep with her mom every night. She goes to sleep with her mom, but what about me?" he said, making a face.
Just then, Anokhi opened the door and entered the room. Seeing her, Rishabh quickly closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep. There was a smile on his lips, which he was trying hard to hide.
Anokhi entered the room and went to the washroom. She changed and came to lie down in her place. She turned to look at Rishabh, who was lying there with his eyes closed, but then Anokhi noticed his lips.
Despite his best efforts, a faint smile was visible on Rishabh's face. Seeing this, Anokhi squinted her eyes and said, "Don't pretend to be asleep, Rishabh Ji."
Hearing this, Rishabh opened his eyes, smiled, and said, "I'm not pretending to be asleep, I was really sleeping. You came into the room and disturbed my sleep."
"Oh, so I came in the room and disturbed your sleep, as if you were sleeping peacefully, right? And if that's the case, then fine, I'll leave, and you can sleep here alone." Saying this, Anokhi was about to get up when Rishabh quickly grabbed her and rested his head on her chest. Anokhi, startled by this, said, "Rishabh Ji, what are you doing?"
Rishabh lifted his face and brought it close to hers, saying, "What do you mean, 'what am I doing'? You sleep with your head on my chest, don't you? So can't I rest my head on your chest?" Saying this, he moved even closer to her face.
Anokhi, hesitating, said, "You can sleep, but don't do anything else."
"What else? This?" Rishabh said as he kissed Anokhi on the cheek.
"Or this?" he said as his hand slipped inside Anokhi's t-shirt. Anokhi quickly grabbed his hand and stopped him. She was about to say something when Rishabh silenced her words by covering her lips with his.
After kissing her for a while, Rishabh pulled away. Anokhi was breathing heavily, her face flushed pink, and Rishabh was smiling at her.
Rishabh buried his face in her neck and kissed it, causing Anokhi's breathing to quicken slightly. She gripped the bedsheet tightly, and her hands were running through Rishabh's hair. Rishabh moved down from her neck to her chest. Just then, Anokhi called out his name, "Rishabh Ji."
Rishabh lifted his face to look at her. Anokhi softly said, "Stop, you're injured."
"You got lucky, using my injury as an excuse. Otherwise, you'd be calling my name all night long."
Rishabh said in such a way that Anokhi blushed red and hid her face behind her hands.
