After reading the note, Swati couldnât figure out whether she should be happy or sad. Happy that Shivaay will not remember what she had said about her inability to become a mother or sad that he will not remember her saying, âI love you.â
Swati took a deep breath, looked at the note, and said to herself, âShivaay, what should I do with you?â
Meanwhile, at the airport, Shivaay sat in the waiting area, smiling broadly. Although he wrote that he didnât remember anything, the truth was he did recall bits and pieces. Most importantly, he remembered hearing Swati say, âI love you,â before he drifted into sleep.
When he woke up in the morning, he was surprised to find Swati in his arms. Initially startled, he soon remembered the events of the night before and smiled. Hearing her confession felt like he had entered heaven. Shivaay thought to himself with a smile, âI never knew alcohol could be so useful. If I had known that being drunk would help me reveal my pain and understand your true feelings, I wouldâve tried it long ago. But anyway, yesterday was the most beautiful day of my life, and the days ahead will be even better. Now I know how much you love me. Not only could I see it in your eyes, but you also said it aloud. I know you might be a little confused about why I left like this and that you have no idea Iâm going to Gujarat. But Swati Tiwari, youâve troubled me enough. Now itâs my turn. When Iâm not around, youâll feel restless. Youâll run into my arms and say those words in front of the whole world that you said while I was drunk: âShivaay, I love you.ââ
Just then, his phone rang. It was his assistant. Seeing the call, Shivaayâs cheerful mood soured.
âHello, what do you want?â Shivaay asked curtly.
Hearing his tone, the assistant hesitated for a moment. Lately, he had been nervous about talking to Shivaay, as he couldnât assist much with the Swati situation. Nevertheless, he mustered courage and quickly said, âShivaay Sir, why didnât you tell me you were going to Gujarat? You planned it so suddenly.â
âOh! So now I need your permission to decide where to go and where not to?â Shivaay retorted sharply.
Hearing this, the assistant hurriedly shook his head and said, âNo, Sir! Thatâs not what I meant.â
âWhatever your meaning is, keep it to yourself. Listen, Iâm going to Gujarat for three days. Take care of the company while Iâm gone. Iâm visiting my fatherâs company and discussing some matters regarding the new project with our company. Donât mess things up in my absence. Got it?â
With that, Shivaay was about to hang up when his assistant quickly said, âSir, thereâs something important I need to tell you.â
But Shivaay interrupted him, saying, âNo matter how important it is, weâll discuss it in three days. Okay, bye.â
With that, Shivaay ended the call. The assistant stared at his phone and muttered, âWhat can I do? I was going to tell him about Swati. If he doesnât want to listen, thereâs nothing I can do. Fine, Iâll wait three more days.â With that, he returned to his work.
Elsewhere, at the golf course, a different drama was unfolding. Rohit, Praveen, and Abhinav rushed over to Rishabh. Rohit asked, âBro, whatâs going on here? Why is your dog chasing Vikram like this?â
Hearing this, Rishabh, Praveen, and Abhinav gave Rohit a strange look as if saying, âHeâs a dog; of course, heâll chase like a dog! He wonât chase like an elephant!â
Seeing their expressions, Rohit quickly clarified, âI mean, what did Vikram do to make Maxi chase him like this?â
Rishabh smiled and replied, âBecause I ordered him to chase Vikram as much as he could.â
Hearing this calm response, Rohit and Praveen exchanged glances, but Abhinav seemed a bit confused and looked at them for answers.
Praveen explained, âThis is Rishabhâs dog. Whatever Rishabh says, he does immediately, even if itâs to kill someone.â
He paused before adding, âYou donât know this, but Max has killed people on his own. He even helps Rishabh torture people.â
Hearing this, Abhinav stared at Max in shock. Max indeed looked dangerous. Meanwhile, Vikram, tired from all the running, was drenched in sweat. Beads of sweat dripped from his face like raindrops.
Vikram yelled, âRishabh, bro, call him off! What did I do? Iâm exhausted!â
Rishabh shouted, âStop!â
The moment Rishabh said , "Stop," Maxi immediately halted in his tracks. He moved away from Vikram and quietly sat down beside Rishabh. Rishabh lovingly patted Maxi's head and turned his gaze toward Vikram, who was lying on the ground, utterly exhausted.
Vikram was breathing heavily, gasping for air. Seeing this, Rohit picked up a water bottle nearby and quickly approached Vikram.
Sitting on his knees next to him, he said, "Vikram Bhai, here, have some water."
Hearing this, Vikram sat up, took the bottle from him, drank a couple of sips, and poured the rest over his face. Then, glaring angrily at Rishabh, he threw the bottle aside, got up furiously, and walked over to Rishabh. he shouted, "Are you out of your mind? Whatâs wrong with you, setting Maxi after me! Iâve been running like this for the past 3 hours. If I had run straight, Iâd have reached Bangladesh from India by now, that too without a ticket. What exactly did I do?"
Seeing him so angry, Rohit and Abhinav decided it was better to stay silent. But Praveen asked Rishabh, "Why have you called the three of us here?"
Praveen was eager to finish his office work and get back to Shanaya. He tried to spend as much time as possible with her, so if there was no urgent matter here, he would leave immediately.
Rishabh looked up at him and replied in a very calm tone, "I needed advice from you three."
"Advice? From us?" Rohit, Praveen, and Abhinav exclaimed in surprise.
Vikramâs eyes widened in shock. Rishabh asking for advice? It wasnât just new; it was astonishing. Rishabh had never asked for advice from anyone before, let alone help, especially from them. What had happened today? This question lingered in everyoneâs mind.
Rishabh pointed toward Vikram and said, "I need advice on how I can torture him."
This left them all shocked again. Rishabh actually wanted to torture Vikram and was asking for advice on it! When they had entered earlier and seen Vikram running like a dog, they had somewhat guessed that he must have messed up big time. And now that Rishabh had openly stated he wanted to torture him, they were certain Vikram had made a huge blunder.
Meanwhile, Vikram was so stunned by this that he took two steps back. Staring at Rishabh in disbelief, he said, "Are you insane? Why do you want to torture me? And on top of that, youâre asking others for advice on how to do it! What have I done? Youâve completely lost your mind! Praveen, call Hardik and get him here immediately. This guy needs a neurosurgeon. Tell him to open up this manâs skull and check if his brain is damaged. Thatâs why heâs spouting such nonsense."
But Rishabh completely ignored his words and, looking at Praveen, Abhinav, and Rohit, said, "Are you giving advice, or should I include the three of you in the torture as well?"
This made the three of them panic, and they hurriedly started giving suggestions.
First, the most frightened, Rohit, said, "Brother, I think we should place an apple on Vikram Bhaiâs head and aim at it with a gun."
"What? Have you lost it?" Vikram said, his eyes wide with disbelief, but his words were ignored again.
The second suggestion came from Abhinav. He said, "He just got married recently. Send him out of the country for a month. Being away from his wife, I think, would be the greatest torture possible."
"You cruel man, Abhinav! I thought you were quiet, so at least youâd be nice. But I didnât know a monster hid behind your calm face!" Vikram angrily stepped closer to Abhinav, but once again, his words were completely ignored.
The third suggestion came from Praveen. Looking around, he said, "Since weâre standing on a golf course, letâs play golf. Weâll make him stand as the target, and wherever the ball hits on his body, weâll leave it to fate to decide how much damage it causes."
Hearing this, Rishabh, Praveen, Abhinav, and Rohit all looked down from Vikramâs face to a certain area below. Seeing this, Vikram immediately covered himself with his hands and crouched, shouting, "Shameless people! Donât you have any shame looking at a married man like this?"
Pointing at Praveen, he said, "Praveen, Iâd heard that company influences behavior, and now Iâve seen it too. Staying with Rishabh has turned your mind into that of a demon too!"
Hearing his words and seeing his reaction, everyone burst into laughter. But Rishabhâs face remained as expressionless as ever.
Vikram approached Rishabh and said, "Bro, leave all this. Tell me, what have I done? And listen, you wonât get away with this. Do you think youâll be spared after treating me like this? Iâll tell Princess every single thing you did to her brother. When she tortures you, then youâll understand! Princess will..."
He suddenly stopped mid-sentence. He remembered Anokhiâs mood from the morning. He started muttering, "When you and Princess came home this morning, both of you seemed upset. Both of you were glaring at me as if Iâd done something wrong. Did I really do something? And if so, what on earth did I do?"
Saying this, he looked at Rishabh with questioning eyes.
Rohit, Praveen, and Abhinav also turned toward Rishabh when he stood up from his chair. As soon as he stood, all four of them straightened up. Even Maxi, who was comfortably sitting, got up. Rishabh took steps toward Vikram, glaring at him, and with emphasis on each word, said, âSo, you donât know what youâve done? Fine, recall all the messes youâve created so far!â
"From childhood? Man, how am I supposed to remember all that?" Vikram exclaimed, clearly acknowledging how much trouble heâs causedâright from his childhood!
Rohit laughed at Vikramâs response, but Vikram kept looking nervously at Rishabh. As Rishabhâs steps advanced, Vikramâs steps involuntarily retreated. Suddenly, Vikramâs foot landed on the bottle he had tossed aside earlier, and the next moment, he fell to the ground with a thud.
âOw, my back! Iâm dead!â Vikram cried out, clutching his waist.
Meanwhile, Rishabh crouched in front of him, grabbed his collar, and glared at him as he asked, âLast night, you left a vodka bottle in my room, didnât you?â
âSo what if I left a vodka bottle? Itâs not like I left a poison bottle, Rishabh!â Vikram snapped back, wincing in pain. He was fed up with Rishabhâfirst being made to run endlessly, then being scared with those piercing eyes, and now, after falling, being interrogated!
Praveen, Rohit, and Abhinav were listening intently to Rishabh. They too wanted to know what Vikram had done. Rishabh said, âVikram, Iâve ignored all the chaos youâve caused so far. But last night, you left that vodka bottle, and Cupcake mistook it for water and drank the entire bottle.â
Vikram was so shocked he forgot his pain and shot to his feet. Rohit, Praveen, and Abhinav were equally stunned and rushed to Rishabh.
âWhat? Bhabhi drank vodka?â Rohit asked.
âThe entire bottle!â Praveen added.
âDid you give it to her?â Abhinav quickly asked.
Everyone turned to glare at him. Praveen lightly smacked his head and scolded, âAre your ears working? Didnât you just hear? She mistook it for water and drank it!â
âSorry,â Abhinav mumbled, bowing his head as everyoneâs attention returned to Vikram.
Vikram finally understood why Rishabh was so furious. âShe drank alcohol for the first time, unknowingly, not just a sip, but the whole bottle! And the one who brought that bottle? Vikram!â
Vikram thought, âWho knows what she did under the influence? Maybe she got sick. Thatâs why Rishabh is this angry. He definitely wonât spare me now. Why did I even bring that vodka? Shouldâve just stayed quiet. Now deal with it! Think, Vikram, think, or youâll end up in the hospital directly!â
Lost in his thoughts, Vikram suddenly glared at Rishabh and, with the authority of an elder brother, yelled, âRishabh, have you lost your mind? I brought that bottle for you, not Princess! If she mistook it for water, why didnât you stop her? What were you doing when she was drinking it?â
The other threeâs gazes shifted to Rishabh. Vikram wasnât wrong. If Anokhi mistook vodka for water, what was Rishabh doing at that time?
Rishabhâs eyes hardened, but Vikram wasnât fazed. Instead, he scolded him further, âLet me guessâyou were probably glued to your phone or laptop, doing business! I know you too well. Day or night, nothing matters to you except work! Whatâs the point of earning so much money? You donât even share your property with me, so what are you going to do with it? Spend time with Princess! Because of you, she ended up drinking an entire bottle of alcohol. Iâm her elder brother, so Iâm warning you, and forgiving you this time. But remember, no such mistake should happen again! Donât make my Princess drink alcohol unnecessarily, my poor princess!â
With that, Vikram started walking away slowly, muttering to himself. None of the others seemed to notice his clever retreat.
Just then, Maxi barked loudly, snapping everyone back to attention. Rishabh glared at Vikram and shouted, âGet him!â
Before Rishabh could finish his command, Vikram bolted, and Maxy, Rohit, Praveen, and Abhinav chased after him.
Khurana Mansion
Mr. Khurana was in his study, working, unaware that Hardikâs car had just arrived at the mansion gate. When Hardik stopped his car, his grip on the steering wheel tightened as memories of his childhood and his departure from this house flooded his mind.
Shivika, sitting beside him, placed her hand on his and said, âLetâs go,â with a smile. Hardik nodded slightly. The two stepped out of the car and entered the mansion.
They encountered a servant who immediately recognized Hardik. Smiling, the servant said, âHardik Sir, you?â
Hardik said nothing, so Shivika asked, âIs Chacha Ji at home?â
Hearing Shivika address Mr. Khurana as âChacha Ji,â the servant was surprised. But after noticing her sindoor, mangalsutra, and her hand in Hardikâs, he realized she was Hardikâs wife. Smiling, he said, âPlease, have a seat. Iâll call Sir right away.â
The servant gestured for them to sit on the sofa and hurried to the study. Knocking on the door, he heard Mr. Khuranaâs voice, âCome in.â
The servant entered and said with a smile, âSir, Hardik Sir is here, with his wife.â
Hearing this, Mr. Khuranaâs eyes widened in surprise. Standing up quickly, he asked, âWhat? Hardik is here? Where is he?â
âDownstairs, waiting for you,â the servant replied.
Mr. Khurana immediately left the study and hurried down the stairs, finding Hardik and Shivika seated on the sofa, waiting.
âHardik!â he exclaimed, coming to stand in front of him. Hardik and Shivika stood up.
âSit, sit,â Mr. Khurana said, gesturing for them to sit before signaling the servant to leave.
Hardik and Shivika sat down, with Mr. Khurana taking the sofa opposite them. An awkward silence filled the room.
Hardik sat with his head lowered, while Mr. Khurana occasionally glanced at him. Shivika looked between the two before breaking the silence, asking, âHow are you, Chacha Ji?â
Hearing her call him âChacha Ji,â Mr. Khurana was momentarily taken aback and looked at Hardik before replying, âIâm fine, beta. Sorry, I sent your wedding gift through someone else yesterday. I hope you liked it.â His voice faltered slightly.
Shivika smiled and said, âI liked it, but I wouldâve been happier if you had given it to me yourself. Hardik told me that necklace is for the Khurana familyâs daughter-in-law. It wouldâve meant more if someone elder in the family had given it to me.â
She glanced at Hardik, who still had his head lowered.
Holding Hardikâs hand, Shivika said, âHardik, why are you so quiet?â
Hardik looked at her with confusion, prompting her to blink at him in reassurance.
Finally, Hardik raised his gaze to look at his uncle. After years, he was seeing him again. Though both lived in Mumbai, Hardik had kept his distance, and Mr. Khurana hadnât mustered the courage to approach him either.
Hardik noticed how much older his uncle had becomeâgray hair, a weary, forlorn demeanor. And he knew the reason. Aliyaâs imprisonment had probably broken him inside.
Gathering courage, Mr. Khurana asked, âHardik, how have you been?â
It seemed to take him great effort to ask this simple question.
Hardik looked him in the eyes and replied, âHow would a son feel after being separated from his family?â
Unintentionally, Hardikâs first words were a complaint that had been buried in his heart for years.
He then averted his gaze and said, âIâm fine. I have my own familyâa large family that loves me.â
