"Why are you looking at me like that with such an innocent face? And what were you talking behind my back?" Rishabh asked as he came close to her. Anokhi replied, " Yes I was talking about bad people, Rishabh ji."
"Oh, so I'm a bad person?" Rishabh said, to which Anokhi nodded and said, "Yes, you are very, very bad."
"So, you must know what very, very bad people do, right?" Rishabh said, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her closer.
Anokhi's hands landed on his chest. She tried to free herself, saying, "Yes, I know what they do, that's why I was running away, but you didn't let me."
"Well, since you came here on your own, why should I let you go?" Rishabh said, holding her in his arms.
Anokhi pouted and said, "So, would you do this in front of everyone, moving my dupatta and showing how bad you are, Rishabh ji? Does anyone do such things in front of people? You're really becoming shameless. You always do this to me and then run away, leaving me alone in front of everyone. You're never around, and everyone teases me."
Rishabh smiled and said, "Rishabh Shergill never runs away, nor does he fear anyone. Don't you remember, I took you away in front of everyone? You're my wife, so why should I be afraid?"
"Then listen to your wife and let her go," Anokhi said lovingly.
Rishabh leaned in close to her ear and whispered, "Kiss me first."
"What?" Anokhi exclaimed loudly.
Rishabh nodded and said, "Yes, give me a kiss and then go."
"You've gone mad! Stop it, let me go. Someone will see."
"No one will see us. I'm just asking for a small kiss. Hurry up, or if I have to kiss you, I don't know how long it will take. And I may not settle for just one kiss."
Rishabh said as he gently caressed her neck and brought her face closer to his.
Anokhi's grip on Rishabh's kurta tightened. Her breathing became heavy. Stuttering, she said, "Rishabh ji, Rishabh ji, everyone is outside. Please don't do this."
"Just one kiss, now," Rishabh said as his lips hovered near hers.
His tone was like an order. Anokhi understood that without a kiss, he wouldn't let her go at all. Nervously swallowing her saliva, she said, "Fine, close your eyes."
"Okay, I'll close them. But remember, if you kiss me like a child on the cheek and run away, things will get very bad," Rishabh warned her.
Anokhi pouted and muttered, "How does he know that's exactly what I was going to do?"
"I know everything. Now hurry up," Rishabh said, closing his eyes.
Anokhi looked around. She didn't see anyone nearby. Realizing this, she stood on her tiptoes and slowly brought her lips closer to Rishabh's.
Feeling her warm breath on his face, Rishabh smiled. His grip on her waist tightened.
Moments later, Anokhi nervously placed a soft kiss on his lips and quickly pulled away.
Rishabh instantly opened his eyes and stared at Anokhi.
With an innocent expression, Anokhi said, "You told me to kiss you. You didn't say how long it should be. It could be just a second, right? I've fulfilled my promise, now let me go."
"You're trying to be too smart. I'll show you," Rishabh said, pulling her close again and placing a deep kiss on her lips. Anokhi tightly closed her eyes.
After some time, Rishabh pulled away and looked at Anokhi's face. Her eyes were closed, her cheeks had turned pink, and she was breathing heavily.
Rishabh leaned in near her ear and softly whispered, "That's what a kiss is. Remember next time, or I'll have to teach you again and again."
Saying this, he kissed her ear and walked away.
Anokhi was still standing there, eyes closed, breathing heavily.
After a while, when her breathing returned to normal, she opened her eyes.
Thinking about the kiss that just happened, her face turned red with embarrassment. Then, making a face, she said, "He talks as if he's never kissed me before. He's kissed me so many times, doesn't he know I can kiss? Of course, I can kiss, but how do I tell him that whenever he's around, my mind goes blank, and then he takes advantage of me. Rakshas Shergill!" she said, stomping her foot and walking away.
The next day,
It was the day of the sangeet ceremony. The whole family, along with everyone else's families, were going to celebrate together. The sangeet was arranged at a five-star hotel in Mumbai. All the guests had arrived and were waiting for the bride and groom to come. The dress theme for today was black and white. All the ladies wore black, and the gents wore white.
In one of the hotel rooms, Ruhi and Riya were all dressed up and waiting for their soon-to-be husbands, Rohit and Omkar, to finish getting ready. The girls were ready long ago, but the boys just wouldn't finish. That's when Riya shouted, "Omkar, how much longer will it take you guys? We girls are ready, and you two are still fussing!"
Omkar shouted from inside, "Hey, we're not satisfied with how we look, so it's going to take some time. And where is it written that only girls take longer to get ready? We boys can too!"
Ruhi looked at the other room, where Rohit was, and angrily said, "Rohit, if you don't come out in the next two minutes, I swear I'll take Riya with me, and we'll make our entrance together. You both can come whenever, holding each other's hands!"
Before Rohit could say anything, Omkar interrupted, "Hey, if you want to go, then go! Why are you taking my wife?"
Then Rohit said, "Have a little patience. Today you'll need it; after marriage, we'll be the ones needing patience when you take forever to get ready. Learn to adjust a little, will you?"
Hearing their conversation, Riya and Ruhi looked at each other and slapped their foreheads. "I don't know how we fell in love with these guys," they said in unison.
Five minutes later, their wait finally ended, and Rohit and Omkar came out of their rooms. As soon as Riya and Ruhi saw them, their anger vanished. Both were dressed in white tuxedos, with their hair styled perfectly, wearing branded watches and shiny shoes. Their engagement rings sparkled on their fingers. Truly, thev looked very handsome.
Ruhi teased, "If you wanted to look this good, you should've taken even more time. You would've looked even more handsome!"
But Rohit and Omkar didn't reply. They stood there with wide eyes and open mouths, staring at Ruhi and Riya. Riya was wearing a black shimmer gown, with her hair straightened, some strands falling on her face. Ruhi, on the other hand, wore a black saree with a deep back, held together by just one string, looking absolutely stunning. Her hair was in soft curls.
Seeing them, Rohit and Omkar were speechless. Meanwhile, Ruhi and Riya exchanged smiles. They slowly approached their partners. Riya wrapped her arms around Omkar's neck, while Ruhi did the same with Rohit. Then, both girls looked at each other and screamed in their ears, "Hey!"
Their sudden action startled Rohit and Omkar, who quickly covered their ears. Rohit complained, "What's this, yaar? Grow up already!"
Ruhi acted dramatically and said, "Oh, grow up? Just a few days ago, you were telling me, 'Be my old Ruhi, my childhood Ruhi!' Now you want the grown-up Ruhi?"
Riya burst out laughing, while Omkar glared at her and said, "And what are you laughing at? Trying to make me deaf, huh? You come near so sweetly, then ruin the romantic moment!"
"So what! Making girls wait, don't you feel ashamed? You deserve punishment!" Riya said sarcastically. Then, the girls started walking ahead, while Rohit and Omkar exchanged looks and thought, "We're hopeless! Our girls are just like this!"
Then they followed behind.
In the party hall, Rishabh kept glancing at Anokhi, who was sitting and chatting with Shanaya, Preeti, and Shivika. She was wearing a black long gown, which looked stunning on her fair complexion. Rishabh kept looking at her, but she kept avoiding him. Every time he got close, Anokhi made an excuse and went to someone else. Rishabh understood that this was the result of his antics the day before during the haldi ceremony.
Shivika noticed Rishabh constantly looking at Anokhi, so she said to Anokhi, "Anokhi, your husband keeps staring at you. Don't you think you should give him some time?"
Hearing this, Shanaya and Preeti started laughing, but Anokhi made a face.
Just then, she looked behind Shivika, where Hardik was walking towards them. Smiling in the exact same way Shivika had, she said, "Yes, Shivika Di, I also think you should go with your soon-to-be husband because he can't bear even two minutes of separation from you."
Pointing behind her as she spoke, everyone, including Shivika, turned to look. By then, Hardik had reached them. Shanaya and Preeti started laughing as they looked at Shivika, whose face had turned pink with embarrassment. Hardik came up to them and said to Shivika, "Shivika, I need to talk to you. Come for two minutes." Saying that, Hardik walked away.
Preeti, laughing, said, "Go, Shivika, go quickly, or those two minutes might turn into two hours." Saying this, she gave Shanaya a high-five.
Meanwhile, Shivika quickly got up, lowered her head, and mumbled, "This Hardik, I swear, he crosses all limits. Calling me like that in front of everyone."
After Shivika left, Vikram came over. Sitting next to Anokhi, he said to Shanaya, "Shanaya, Alka Aunty is calling you."
"Okay, I'm coming," Shanaya said and got up to leave. Then Vikram started staring at Anokhi. Seeing him stare like that, Anokhi and Preeti exchanged glances before Anokhi asked, "What happened? Why are you staring at me like that?"
"Why am I staring? Well, you're doing things that deserve to be stared at! You don't care about your brother at all, do you? Here you are, sitting and chatting with your bhabhi maa, instead of bringing her to your brother so that your brother and bhabhi maa can have some romance."
Hearing Vikram's words, both Preeti and Anokhi stared at him, wide-eyed and with open mouths. Preeti hit her forehead in embarrassment, while Anokhi, shocked, covered her mouth and said, " bhaiya, you shouldn't say such things so openly."
"So how should I say it? Tell me, and I'll say it like that," Vikram replied.
Anokhi, making a face, said, "Honestly, you two friends are just the sameâshameless. Both of you have no shame left."
Anokhi said, and Vikram, lightly bumping his shoulder against hers, responded, "Oh really, then tell me what your shameless Rakshas ji did?"
Hearing this, Anokhi got flustered and, standing up, said, "I don't know, and I'm leaving. You continue romancing your wife." Saying that, she left.
Vikram watched Anokhi walk away, laughing, and then, happy, muttered to himself, "Alright, she's gone. Now I can romance my soon-to-be wife." He turned around only to find that Preeti had disappeared too. Looking around in surprise, he said, "Where did she go? Oh man, I went through so much trouble to get Shanaya and Anokhi out of here, and now this girl has disappeared too. Anyway, I'll find her first, then we'll talk." Saying this, he started searching for Preeti.
After a while, he found Preeti, standing to the side, drinking water. Vikram quietly stood behind her and said, "You left me thirsty there and came here to quench your thirst."
Hearing Vikram's words and his sudden appearance, Preeti was startled. The water got stuck in her throat, and she started coughing. Vikram took the glass, set it aside, and gently patted her back.
Wiping her mouth, Preeti said, "You really go overboard, Vikram. You say anything, anywhere. I'm telling you, straighten up , or elseâ¦" Preeti showed him her finger in warning.
Vikram intertwined his finger with hers, came closer, and said, "Oh, let me misbehave a little first, then you can straighten me up. Let's see, I'll misbehave a bit now, and you can fix me later." Saying this, he grabbed her hand and, sneaking around, led her into an empty room, closing the door and pressing her against it, standing in front of her.
He placed both his hands on the door and smiled as he looked at Preeti. Preeti glared at him and said, "Why did you bring me here?"
"Oh, I told you, didn't I? I said openly, for romance." Vikram replied.
Hearing this, Preeti burst out laughing, "What am I going to do with you, Vikram?"
Preeti said, surrendering.
Vikram, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her closer, said, "Romance with me. Life will pass by in love."
Preeti smiled and looked at him. Vikram kissed her forehead and said, "You look beautiful."
Preeti was wearing a western gown. Although she didn't usually wear western clothes, mostly opting for sarees, Vikram was seeing her in this look for the first time.
Preeti said, "I donât wear western clothes often, so Iâm not sure if I look good. And I donât trust your opinion, because you think I look good in everything."
Preeti said, and Vikram, smiling, kissed her cheek and said, "Why would I lie?"
Preeti wrapped her arms around his neck and said, "Iâm a lawyer, and I know very well how much truth and how many lies another lawyer tells."
"Oh really?" Vikram said, pulling her closer and kissing her other cheek.
Preeti said, "Vikram, this is getting a bit too much."
Vikram, looking at her lips, said, "Well, I donât have the right here yet, so Iâll satisfy myself by kissing elsewhere for now. Who knows when the moment will come when my lips touch yoursâ¦" Vikram couldnât finish his sentence because Preeti softly placed her lips on his.
At that moment, Vikram was stunned. He never expected Preeti to do something like this, not even 0.0001%. His eyes widened in surprise, and his hands fell from her waist. He stood there like a statue, while Preeti, with her eyes closed, remained close to his lips.
After a while, she pulled away and stood there with her gaze lowered. Vikram looked at Preeti, who was breathing heavily, playing with her fingers, her head lowered.
He called out to her, "Preeti?" This time, Vikram's voice wasnât as usual; there was a certain intoxication in his tone, given to him by Preeti herself.
Hearing the change in his voice, Preetiâs heart began to race like a bullet train. Her grip on her saree tightened, and she closed her eyes tightly.
As she was about to leave, Vikram pulled her back. Wrapping his arm around her neck, he lifted her face, looking at her now rosy cheeks, flushed with shyness.
"Preeti, open your eyes," he said. Preeti slowly opened her eyes, her eyelids fluttering with embarrassment.
Vikram, leaning close to her lips, whispered, "If you permit, may I feel that sensation once more?"
Vikram asked, and Preeti just held onto his coat tightly. Seeing this, a smile spread across Vikramâs lips. He leaned in, placing his lips on her trembling ones and kissed her passionately.
Preeti had kissed him before, but Vikramâs kiss was going beyond her limits, something she couldnât handle. Her grip on his coat tightened, and soon her breath started to falter. She began tapping Vikramâs shoulder.
Seeing her struggle, Vikram pulled away and rested his forehead against hers, standing there with his eyes closed for a moment. Then he hugged her tightly, gently kissing her shoulder, and said, "Thank you so much, Preeti, for trusting me."
Preeti also held him tightly and said, "Iâve always trusted you, Vikram. After Papa, youâre the only person I can blindly trust."
Hearing her words, Vikram looked at her face but didnât say anything, just smiled.
Preeti softly said, "Shall we go?"
Vikram nodded, but then, smiling, he wiped her smudged lipstick with his thumb and said, "Now that Iâve got permission, Iâm thinking, maybe one more timeâ¦"
As he leaned in towards her lips, Preeti placed her hand on his lips, pushing him back, and said, "With permission, youâve had your kiss too, so be happy with that. Greed is a bad thing, got it? Now go."
Preeti said, and Vikram replied, "Go? Arenât you coming?"
Preeti glared at him and said, "I need to fix myself first. Should I come looking like this?"
Preeti said, and Vikram noticed her slightly disheveled hair, which he had messed up, and her smudged lipstick, which he had also caused. He started laughing.
Preeti said, "Stop flashing your teeth," and went to the washroom.
Vikram, placing his hand on his heart, smiled and said, "Wow, what a day! The best one ever. Iâll never forget this feeling, and I donât want to."
He fixed himself in front of the mirror and left.
Meanwhile, Hardik had also taken Shivika to their room. Shivika, avoiding his gaze and blushing, said, "Hardik, you brought me to the room like this. What will people think if they see us?"
"Oh, let them think what they want. Anyway, I brought you here for something important, so look at this first," Hardik said, handing Shivika a few papers.
Shivika saw that the papers had designs for a mangalsutra and some jewelry. Looking puzzled, she asked, "What is all this?"
In a casual tone, Hardik replied, "Oh, itâs all for you. Iâll obviously put a mangalsutra on you at our wedding. We canât have a wedding without it, so I had Papa get the designs made just as I wanted. Now you check if you like them or if you want any changes."
Hearing this, Shivika pouted, thinking to herself, "Everyone was teasing me about romance, and here, instead of romance, Iâm getting these papers! I feel like rolling them up and smacking him on the head!" She looked at Hardik with a frown.
Seeing her displeased expression, Hardik asked with a little concern, "What happened? Didn't you like it? You can change it if you want. I donât know much about jewelry, so I designed what I could think of. Besides, it's just a design, not finalized yet."
Hardik kept talking while Shivika was glaring at him. She glanced at all the designs, and they were indeed good.
Shivika said, "The designs are good. I like them. Thereâs no need to change anything."
"Really? You genuinely liked them or are you just saying that to make me feel better?" Hardik asked.
Shivika, with a fake smile on her lips, replied, "At least I'm doing something to make you feel better. But no, I didn't say it just for that. I really liked the designs."
Then she handed the papers back to Hardik and started to leave. Hardik pulled her into his arms from behind.
Shivika, glaring at him, said, "Is there any other design left to show?"
"Yes, there is," Hardik said, and Shivika rolled her eyes. She removed Hardik's hands from her waist, crossed her arms, and said, glaring at him, "Then show me, what other design is left?"
Shivika kept glaring at him. Just then, Hardik took off his coat. Seeing him remove his coat, Shivika unfolded her crossed arms and looked at him in surprise.
Within moments, Hardik also unbuttoned three buttons of his shirt.
Shivika, shocked, said, "Hardik, Hardik, what are you doing? Have you gone mad?"
Hardik placed his finger on her lips and softly whispered near her face, "Shh, just look at what Iâm showing."
As he said this and moved closer, Shivika fell silent. Her heartbeat suddenly quickened.
At that moment, Hardik unbuttoned his entire shirt and showed her the left side of his chest.
When Shivika's eyes fell on the spot where his heart was, her heart skipped a beat for a moment.
Hardik had tattooed Shivika's name on his chest.
Seeing this, Shivika's eyes filled with tears. She gently touched her name on Hardik's chest, and Hardik closed his eyes in peace.
