===================================
In the temple, she bowed her head before God and started praying with folded hands.
Swati said, "Thank you so much, God, for bringing my sister back. I ask for only one thing from you, please fulfill whatever is lacking in her life. Give her all the happiness, God, because she has endured a lot. She has faced many hardships, and now, my only wish is for her to be happy."
As she said this, she opened her eyes. Just then, her gaze fell on an old woman on the street below the temple, who was repeatedly trying to cross the road but couldnât. And no one was helping her either.
Swati glanced at Shweta, who was immersed in prayer with her eyes closed, and then she left from there.
Meanwhile, Shweta silently prayed, "Whatever has happened, I have accepted it as my fate, God. Now, please give all the happiness to Swati and Shwet. This girl has spent her life raising Shwet, without thinking about herself. She is a very good mother and a very good person too. Please bring back whatever she has lost in her life. And after hearing Shobha Auntyâs words yesterday, I also feel that she should get married because how long will she live only for us? She also deserves a companion who will take care of her."
After praying, Shweta opened her eyes and bowed to the feet of the deity. She turned around and saw that Swati was not there. This made her panic. "Swati! Swati!" she called out, but there was no response.
Now Shweta began to feel scared and anxious. She was afraid of being alone now. She started searching for Swati throughout the temple and came down the stairs. She looked around but couldn't find Swati anywhere.
At that moment, a short distance away, two or three boys were standing near a bike, talking. When they saw Shweta, they started walking towards her. Seeing the boys approaching her, Shweta began to tremble with fear and started to step back.
Seeing her frightened, the boys frowned and looked at each other. Just then, as Shweta was stepping back, she bumped into someone. Startled, she turned around to see that it was Abhinav standing there.
Upon seeing him, Shweta immediately clung to his chest. Shweta's body was trembling. Seeing her condition, Abhinav became worried. He quickly held Shweta in his arms and looked at the three boys.
One of the boys said, "Brother, we didn't do anything. She seemed very troubled, so we just came to ask if there was a problem and if we could help in any way."
Abhinav looked at Shweta's frightened face and gently stroked her head, saying, "Shweta, they were just trying to help."
But Shweta said nothing and held on to Abhinav even tighter. Seeing her fear and hearing what the boy said, Abhinav understood that the boys were not bad.
He tried to communicate with them through his eyes, but just then, another boy looked at Shweta and said to Abhinav, "It's okay, man, it's not her fault. Maybe it's the world we live in. Girls donât feel safe when they see boys, especially when theyâre alone, so they get scared. Maybe itâs our fault or societyâs fault. And sister, we really just came to ask if you needed any help, nothing more." After saying this, the three boys left.
Hearing this, Shweta also turned to look at them. Abhinav gently held her face and wiped the tears from her eyes, asking, "What were you doing here alone?"
"I-I came to the temple with Swati," Shweta said in a shaky voice. Abhinav made her sit on a nearby bench and said, "I'll go get you some water." As he was about to leave, Shweta grabbed his shirt tightly and looked at him with scared eyes.
Seeing her so frightened, Abhinav didnât have the heart to leave her. He sat down next to her and held her close. Shweta closed her eyes and hugged Abhinav tightly.
"Shweta, I missed you so much. I was alive without you, but it felt like I was just existing, like a corpse. Now, I finally feel alive, and my heart feels its beat," Abhinav said lovingly, kissing Shweta's head.
Standing a little distance away, Swati was watching the two of them. After helping the old woman, her gaze had also fallen on Shweta. She had come towards her when Abhinav arrived, and she had been watching them ever since. Seeing the two of them like this, Swati said to herself, "Am I making a mistake? Should I give Abhinav a chance to be part of Shweta's life? I promised Shweta that I would bring her every happiness, and somewhere I see her happiness in Abhinav. Itâs clear how much comfort she feels in his arms. What should I do? But if he break my sisterâs trust again, if he break her heartâ¦"
Saying this, Swati stood there, troubled. After a while, she approached them and called Shweta's name. Hearing her voice, Shweta was startled and immediately moved away from Abhinav. She went to Swati.
Abhinav said, "I saw Shweta alone here, so I came."
Swati didnât give Abhinav a chance to say anything else and grabbed Shweta's hand, leading her away. Shweta kept looking back at Abhinav, and Abhinav kept watching Shweta as she left.
Next Day_
Evening Time_
Once again, there was a buzz in the media about the Shergill family. There was a crowd of reporters outside Shergill Mansion because today Rishabh Shergillâs younger sister, Riya Shergill, was getting engaged to Omkar Mittal, the boxer representing India.
Additionally, not only in India but also in London, one of the best lawyers, Vikram Malhotra, was getting engaged to a well-known lawyer from Dehradun, Preeti. Both of these news stories were on everyoneâs lips in Mumbai.
After all, first revealing Omkar's face, his relationship with Riya, and now Vikram's engagement.
Omkar was already the crush of many girls, even without showing his face, and after Rishabhâs marriage and Vikram was the most eligible bachelor in town, and today he was getting engaged to someone else. Hearing this, many fan girls were going to have their hearts broken.
Everyone was ready, except for Preeti, because at the last moment, Preeti's lehenga had torn, and she was very stressed.
Anokhi said, "Bhabhi Maa, why are you so stressed? Itâs just a lehenga; we can get another one."
"But it tore at the last moment; where will we get another lehenga now?" Preeti said, worried, her eyes fixed on her torn lehenga, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Vikram held Preeti's face and kissed her forehead, saying, "It was just the engagement lehenga, not the wedding one. And where this one came from, another can be arranged. You are important to me. If you want, we can both wear lawyer coats and get engaged. Think about my idea, itâs not a bad one, something unique."
Vikram praised himself, and Preeti smiled, looking at him while Shalini, Shobha, and Surekha, standing in the room, glared at him.
Vikram said, "Why are you all glaring at me like that? I was just giving an idea."
So Shalini said, "Don't give ideas, just give space. Get out of this room and go straight downstairs. Bringing this ridiculous idea."
Shalini grabbed Vikram's ear and pushed him out of the room, closing the door in his face. Vikram pouted and started to leave, but after a couple of steps, he stopped and came back to the door.
He knocked on the door and said loudly, "Princess, arrange a nice lehenga for your Bhabhi Maa. Look, if my wife isnât beautiful, I will never come to save you from your âJalladâ (executioner), and I wonât support you in any of your plans."
After saying this, Vikram left, and Anokhi pouted, looking at the door. Then she looked at Preeti, Shobha, Shalini, and Surekha, who were all laughing.
Anokhi took out her phone and said, "Itâs not time to laugh, itâs time to make a call." She dialed Swati, who had just finished her work and was changing. She was about to leave the shop when her phone rang. Seeing Anokhi's name, she thought for a moment and then answered, "Hello"
On the other side, Anokhi spoke hurriedly and anxiously, "Swati Didi, Bhabhi Maa's lehenga has torn."
Swati, surprised, said, "What, but how?" Anokhi replied, "Thereâs no time to explain now. Please bring another very nice lehenga. Please."
"But Iâ¦" Swati was about to refuse, thinking of something, when Anokhi said, "Please, Swati Didi, you know Bhabhi Maaâs size, right? You noted it down. Please quickly arrange another lehenga and bring it. If you bring it, no one will stop you. If someone else brings it, security will start checking them."
"Okay, fine, Iâll bring it," Swati said and then hung up the phone. After thinking for a moment, she called Shweta. When Shweta answered, Swati said, "Shweta, actually, I need to go to Shergill Mansion for something. Miss Preeti's lehenga has torn, and I need to arrange another one for her. I need to reach there as soon as possible, so I might be late. Do one thing, you and Shwet have dinner without me. Iâll eat later when I come back, and please take care of yourselves."
"Okay, Swati, donât worry about us. Iâll take care of everything," Shweta replied from the other end. Swati ended the call and went inside the shop.
A while later, a taxi stopped at the main gate of Shergill Mansion. Swati stuck her head out the window and was about to say something to the security guard when he said, "Don't worry, you can go ahead. We already received a call from Anokhi Maâam."
"Okay, thank you," Swati said and told the driver to proceed inside. As she carefully handled the dress and entered through the back door, she accidentally bumped into someone. Before she could fall, someone caught her by the waist and saved her from hitting the ground.
Swati looked up and saw that it was Shivaay. Upon seeing him, she quickly stood straight and moved away from him. Smiling, Shivaay said, "It seems like luck is favoring me because you keep ending up near me."
Hearing this, Swati closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Then, opening her eyes, she glared at Shivaay and said, "Be thankful that it's only luck favoring you right now. The day my hands and sandals favor you, youâll find yourself near the hospital." Saying this, Swati pushed Shivaay aside and went inside. Shivaay watched her leave with a smile on his face.
Swati came near Preeti's room with a dress. When she knocked on the door, Anokhi opened it. Seeing Swati, Anokhi happily said, "Youâre here, Swati Di! Come on, come inside quickly, weâre already late."
She held Swatiâs hand and brought her inside the room, then shut the door behind her. Swati placed the dress she had brought on the bed and removed its cover. Seeing the lehenga, everyoneâs eyes widened in amazement. The lehenga was truly beautiful, a combination of pink and blue colors.
Anokhi, excited, said, "Wow, Bhabhi Ma, this lehenga is much more beautiful than the previous one. Thank you, Swati Di, youâve truly given the best lehenga for Bhabhi Ma."
Hearing her, Swati smiled. Meanwhile, Preetiâs face, which was showing concern, started to brighten with happiness. Anokhi quickly said, "Now donât waste even a moment, Bhabhi Ma. Come on, change quickly."
"But..." came out from Swati's mouth, and hearing this, everyone turned to look at her. "What happened, Swati?" Shobha asked, to which Swati replied, "Actually, donât you think Preeti Maâam's makeup and hairstyle don't suit this lehenga? Her makeup was done according to the previous lehenga, and this one is different, so I think her makeup needs to be changed too."
Surekha said, "Oh yes, we didnât think about that." So Anokhi said, "Whatâs there to worry about? Sam Bhaiya is here, right? Heâll change Bhabhi Maâs makeup in two minutes. Iâll go and call him right away."
She ran out of the room. She went searching for Same in the garden. As she looked around, she saw all the boys sitting in the garden along with Sam, so she walked towards them.
Rishabh was quietly sitting, listening to their talks while sipping wine. Just then, he noticed Anokhi, who was hurrying towards them, holding her lehenga.
Seeing her, Rishabh's gaze froze on her. Although he had seen Anokhi after she got ready, but each time he looked at her, his heart started pounding harder.
In that white lehenga, Anokhi looked like the moon coming down from the sky, moving towards Rishabh. Seeing her, a smile spread across Rishabhâs lips.
Anokhi quickly came to Sam and, holding his hand, started taking him away, saying, "Sam Bhaiya, come quickly. We need to change Bhabhi Ma's makeup."
"Need to change the makeup? But why? I did such a good job on Preetiâs makeup. Did she start crying or something? My God, girls cry so much and ruin all our hard work," Sam said.
So, Anokhi, putting her hands on her hips and glaring at him, said, "Sam Bhaiya, girls donât cry that much, and youâre making me angry."
Seeing her getting angry, Same pulled her cheek and said, "Oh my baby, why are you getting angry? Alright, tell me, why do we need to change the makeup?"
So, Anokhi explained the incident of the lehenga tearing and the new lehenga arriving. So, Same smacked his forehead and said, "Oh God, now Iâll have to work hard again."
"You won't do this much for your little sister? Itâs my Bhabhi Maâs engagement, and I want her to look the best, and only you can make that happen," Anokhi said, holding his arms and sweetly buttering him up.
So, Sam melted like wax, and everyone else was laughing at seeing Anokhi. Sam pulled the girlâs cheek once again and said, "I can do anything for my Barbie doll."
Saying this, he left. Anokhi was about to leave too, but Rishabh grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. Anokhi stumbled and fell straight into his lap. Rishabh wrapped his hand around her waist, holding her captive in his arms.
Seeing Rishabh do this and finding herself in his lap, Anokhi became flustered. She looked around and saw that Shivaay, Rohit, Vikram, Hardik, and Praveen were all smiling at them, along with some guests standing in the garden.
Shivaay said, "Hey man, we know youâre married, but at least have some pity on us singles. Do this stuff in the bedroom, it doesnât look good out here."
Hearing Shivaayâs words, everyone burst out laughing, and Anokhi blushed, turning as red as a Kashmiri apple. She hit Rishabh on the chest and said, "Rishabh Ji, let me go, everyone is laughing at us."
"I donât care," Rishabh said without any expression, so Anokhi scolded him, "Rishabh Ji, Iâm warning you, and this is the last one, let me go."
Seeing her so angry, Rishabh understood that if he didnât let Anokhi go now, his cupcake would turn into a wild cat and get so angry that it would take him weeks to calm her down, and that too with various tactics. So, he let go of her, and Anokhi ran away from there.
Vikram, laughing, said, "The lion might be the king of the jungle, but in front of the lioness, he turns into a mouse."
Hearing Vikramâs words, everyone once again burst into laughter.
After the makeup was done, Preeti changed into the lehenga, and when she came out, everyoneâs mouths were left open. Preeti looked truly beautiful in that lehenga. After staring at her for a while, Swati said, "I hope the fitting is right."
"Yes, itâs a perfect fit. Thank you so much, Swati. You really helped me today, otherwise, I was about to faint from the tension of not knowing what I would wear," Preeti said, holding Swatiâs hand. So, Swati just smiled.
She looked at Shobha, Surekha, and Shalini and said, "Now that the problem is solved, I think I should leave."
"Why leave? Stay for a while, Swati. We invited you before to come to the engagement with Shweta and Shwet, but you didnât come. Now that youâre here, stay for a while," Shobha said.
So, Swati, declining her, said, "No, Aunty, Shweta and Shwet are both alone at home, I need to go."
"Swati Di, it wonât take much time, stay for a little while. The engagement is about to start, please," Anokhi requested very sweetly, holding Swatiâs hands. So, Swati couldnât say no and agreed.
After some time, everyone was waiting in the hall for the girls to arrive. Just then, Riya and Preeti started coming down the stairs, holding their lehengas. Riya also wore a purple colored lehenga and blouse was off shoulder with a messy french bun and she look like an angel in that look.
Anokhi, Shivika, and Ruhi were with them. While Riya and Preeti had smiles on their lips and their eyes were lowered, Anokhi and Ruhi looked very happy. But Shivikaâs face seemed a bit dim.
Her eyes were roaming around the hall, searching for Hardik, who hadnât arrived yet. Just then, her gaze fell on Prafull, standing with Alok, who was smiling and looking at her. Seeing him, Shivika also brought a smile to her lips.
Vikram and Omkar, standing by the stairs, were smiling while watching their dream queens coming down. When they reached the last two steps, Vikram and Omkar extended their hands, and Riya and Preeti, smiling, held their hands. Vikram and Omkar led Preeti and Riya to the stage.
Anokhi went and stood beside Rishabh, Shivika went to stand with Shivaay and Praful, and Ruhi stood with Bharti and Surekha.
Shivaayâs eyes werenât on Vikram, Omkar, Preeti, or Riya; instead, they were on Swati, who was standing in a corner, apart from everyone.
Swati looked different from everyone else. She hadnât worn any party wear clothes. She had come straight from work, wearing a simple kurti and jeans. Though Shobha and Surekha had offered Swati a saree and asked her to change, Swati had refused, saying she was only going to stay for a short while.
When Anokhi saw Swati standing in the corner like that, she grabbed her hand and brought her to the front with her. When Abhinav saw Swati there, he started thinking something.
Riya and Omkar were smiling at each other. Preeti also had a smile on her lips, but Vikram was standing there, grinning widely. Seeing him like that, Rishabh said, "Vikram, isnât your grin a bit too wide?"
Vikram replied, "Of course, itâs going to be wide! Hey, my life is about to change. Today is the engagement, tomorrow will be the wedding, the day after will be the honeymoon, and then there will be kids. Oh, how wonderful my life is going to be!"
Vikram was standing there, planning his future family. Meanwhile, Preeti blushed and covered her face with her hands, and everyone else started laughing.
Shalini slapped her forehead, then walked onto the stage, hit Vikram on the head, and said, "Vikram, grow up! Now it's time to change. Look, if you keep behaving like this and continue troubling her, I wonât let this wedding happen."
As she said this, she pointed toward Preeti, who was still standing there, hiding her face in embarrassment. Vikram said to Sanjay, "Dad, you handle your lady, I'll take care of mine." Saying this, Vikram moved closer to Preeti, held her hand, and gently pulled it away from her face, saying, "Hey, why are you blushing so much? I just said something, didn't do anything!"
"Vikram, please, enough now," Preeti said, pulling her hand away shyly. Vikram started laughing, and soon, everyone else joined in.
Meanwhile, Omkar leaned in and whispered in Riya's ear, "By the way, my plans are similar too. You're going to be Mrs. Omkar soon, so be ready."
At his words, Riya blushed too, and seeing her, Omkar smiled and said, "Alright, meet me on the terrace after the engagement."
"Why?" Riya asked softly. To which Omkar replied, "Well, we're exchanging rings, so a kiss is in order, isn't it?"
"Stop it," Riya scolded him, and Omkar started laughing too. Watching the two couples, Anokhi said to Dadaji, "Dadaji, it seems these four don't want to get engaged, they just want to keep romancing. Let's do one thingâsend these four to their rooms, and you guys skip the engagement, alright?"
At her words, all four of them blushed. Dadaji said, "She's right. Save the chit-chat for later, first, get engaged. And Vikram, if you miss the engagement time, you'll just keep showing off your teeth and nothing else, you fool!"
Seeing him say this, Anokhi started laughing. Vikram made a face and said, "Why are you laughing? And Dadaji, I'm not the only fool standing here, there's another one right next to me, tell him too!"
"Shut up and get engaged now," Dadaji glared at him and said, so Vikram hurriedly replied, "Why are you all just standing there? Bring the rings! These people donât want me to get engaged, theyâre just wasting time."
Seeing him like that, everyone laughed. Anokhi brought a tray onto the stage, which had four rings in it. First, Vikram and Preeti exchanged rings, followed by Omkar and Riya.
Clapping happily, Anokhi said, "From now on, you're my Riya Bhabhi!"
Anokhi hugged Riya, and Riya smiled back.
