Chapter15
Little Bride
Later, he drove me back to school, and it was almost 11 o'clock.
"Do you need me to talk to your supervisor?" he suddenly asked me when I got off the car.
Maybe it was because I had been complaining all the way that I might not be able to get back to the dorm.
"No need." I opened the car door.
"Aren't you my niece? Uncle taking his niece out for a meal and coming back late, what's wrong with that?" He sat in the car and laughed, but showed no intention of getting out.
I knew he was teasing me.
He was now fixated on the fact that I called him my uncle, teasing me from time to time.
I blushed and quickly ran towards the dorm.
Halfway through the run, I received a text message on my phone: "If you can't get in, just come back, Uncle will accommodate you for the night."
Looking at him calling himself uncle, my scalp literally went numb.
As soon as I pressed the phone, I bumped into someone.
"Ah..." I almost fell flat on my face, but my waist was supported.
When I looked up, I saw Vernon's face.
He straightened me up, looked at the time with a dark face, then looked at me, "Do you know what time it is now?"
"In the middle of the night, you're blocking the road, I didn't blame you, but you're the first to complain?" I refused to back down.
"It's none of my business, after a failed relationship, you've become like this." He said and was about to leave.
But I wouldn't let it go, I blocked his way, "Like what?"
He looked at me with an exasperated expression, "Hanging out with someone till midnight and not going back to the dorm!"
" I just want to go out and have a late-night date with the person I like, hugging and kissing, my ex-boyfriend?"
As he listened to my words, he seemed too shocked, his face turned pale, and he hesitated for a long time before uttering a few words, "You weren't like this before."
After a while, he said again, "You used to go back to the dorm early when we went out. Why are you acting so recklessly now?"
Ha... I laughed.
"Have you ever considered that the reason I used to go back to the dorm early was because of your impotence?" After saying this, I saw him clench his fists in anger, and I felt relieved.
I raised my hand and walked confidently towards the dorm.
I couldn't sleep that night. My mind was filled with thoughts of Vernon and the hurtful words I had spoken. I couldn't bear the thought of him thinking poorly of me. So, against my better judgment, I picked up my phone and sent him a message.
"I'm sorry for what I said earlier. I didn't mean any of it. Please don't think badly of me."
I waited anxiously for a response, but none came. I tossed and turned in bed, my guilt eating away at me.
The next morning, I woke up to find a message from Vernon on my phone. It simply said, "Get some rest."
