Chapter 69
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
Chapter 69 You Love A Crowd
The next second, the man tried to make a move on Sophie, only to have her grab his hand.
âI told you to get lost. Did you not hear that?â Sophie snapped. She had never been a patient person,
but unfortunately, her appearance always made her look meek and vulnerable.
Alas, the man wasnât about to give up on his lewd advances. âCome on, missy. Iâm really amazing in
bed!â
âWhat are you doing?â Letitia suddenly shouted as she glared at the nosy Sophie. âI had my eyes on
him first.â
The latter arched her brows. My goodness. This girl sure is an odd duck!
âFine. In that case, sorry for bothering you,â Sophie muttered before letting go of the manâs hand and
returning to her seat.
As luck would have it, Felix entered the bar at that moment. âWait a minute. Are my eyes deceiving
me? Thatâs Sophie, isnât it?â
Upon hearing that, Tristan hurried over to take a look for himself. Ah, heâs right. That is Sophie.
She had worn a sleeveless sequin dress, and her long hair was draped sensually over her shoulders.
As she sat on the swivel chair with her legs crossed, there was no doubt many men would have had
the temptation to take her home.
Naturally, Winter had also noticed Sophie. After all, Charles had arranged the party at Nocturnal for her
so they could celebrate the success of her new perfume.
âWell, well, well. Whoâd have thought that a high school student would take a shine to Nocturnal? Then
again, who wouldnât be dazzled by the resplendence here? I suppose itâs even more exciting for Ms.
Tanner since she had spent time in a place like Horington,â Winter scoffed. âThat said, donât you think
sheâs dressed a little too provocatively?â
In all honesty, Winter hated seeing Sophie near her. No matter where the latter showed up, sheâd
immediately steal all the limelight, and Winter would no longer be the center of attention.
âWatch your words, Winter,â Charles warned.
Whatâs the use of making these comments anyway? The more she says, the more sheâll seem rude.
Winter shrugged.
âIâm not suggesting anything. I just donât think itâs safe for a young lady to come to a place like Noctural
alone.â
Felix was instantly rendered speechless. I canât believe sheâs shameless enough to say that! Itâs wild
enough that sheâd be worried about something untoward happening to Sophie.
âYou guys can go over first,â Tristan ordered, his expression cold and stoic.
Deep down, however, he was fuming.
Sophieâs outfit was way too attractive, and several men in the bar were checking her out.
That, without a doubt, made Tristan very uncomfortable. All he wanted was to gouge out the eyes of
anyone who had the gall to look at her.
âMr. Tristanâ¦â Winter said before her voice trailed off. She was worried that Tristan might leave, but
after seeing his expression, she decided to hold her tongue and walk to their private room.
The next second, Tristan marched to Sophie and sat next to her. Like her, his long legs were just as
alluring.
Having detected movement behind her, Sophie turned around and immediately came face to face with
Tristan.
âMr. Tristan, have you installed a tracking device on me?â she mused with a raised eyebrow.
âThanks for reminding me. I really should do that,â Tristan answered. Itâs her fault for always playing
with danger and making people worry.
Instead of answering him, Sophie decided to change the topic.
âWhy are you here?â
âItâs for Winterâs celebration party. Weâre in the same private room as last time. Are you alone?â
âYes, I am,â Sophie replied before glancing at Letitia.
From the looks of it, I guess she has chosen to sink into the depths of depravity. Iâll have to find some
other time to negotiate with her. Letitia is the key to saving Transfix Cosmetics, but I know it wonât be
easy to get the truth from her.
âJoin me then!â
âItâs okay. Iâm leaving in a bit. Besides, Iâm not familiar with Ms. Quigley. I donât think itâd be nice to
crash the party,â Sophie explained. More importantly, I know Winterâs not going to like me.
âItâs fine. Weâll only stay for a while, and Iâll send you home.â
âAll right, then!â
As soon as Sophie got up, her long, slender legs stood out even more.
Alas, the men with Letitia noticed that and quickly made their way toward her.
After all, how could they let a perfect prey slip away?
The lustful man from before whipped out a wad of cash from his bag and slammed it on the table.
âWell? Is this enough?â
Sophie instinctively glanced at Tristan, but before she could say anything else, the man shouted, âWhy
are you looking at him? I have all the money in the world, and if you donât think this is enough, Iâll give
you more!â
With that, he tossed another thick wad of cash onto the table.
âHey, missy, I really like you. As long as you leave with me tonight, Iâll give you any amount of money
that you desire.â
Winter, who had overheard the conversation, couldnât help snickering.
Oh, my. I wonder how Mr. Tristan would feel after witnessing that. Sophie is such a fool! Doesnât she
know sheâs digging her own grave? Once again, this proves Iâm the only one worthy of being with
Tristan!
Sophie suddenly burst out laughing. Whatâs wrong with this guy? Doesnât he know heâs playing with
fire?
âIs it still not enough? Fine. I have more!â the man thundered as he slapped another hundred thousand
in cold, hard cash on the table.
âWait a minute. You areââ
âYes, Iâm Trevor Gardner! You might not have heard of me, but Iâm sure you know my father, Brayden
Gardner!â
âBrayden Gardner? Oh, so youâre his son,â Tristan said coldly with a glint in his eyes.
âThatâs right! Look, missy, even he knows who my father is! Why donât you be my girlfriend? Iâm serious
about it!â Trevor exclaimed as he grinned from ear to ear.
âYou want me to be your girlfriend?â
âYes. What do you think? Leave with me tonight!â
Alas, Trevor still had no idea who he had just offended.
âWait a minute,â Sophie muttered before taking her phone out to make a call.
As soon as the call got through, she immediately rattled off the address of Nocturnal. âThatâs the bar
Iâm in. Bring a few of your kind over here right now.â
Then, she hung up the phone.
âWow, so you love a crowd! Thatâs no problem. I know many people who would be happy to join us!â
Trevor said with a lewd smile. âI see weâre the same kind!â
By then, Sophie could no longer be bothered to answer him.
Tristan, though, couldnât help but chime in, âYouâre courting disaster.â
How dare he perv on my love!
âWhy are you so angry? Calm down. If you like, we can rope you in too. Youâre quite a looker yourself,â
Trevor uttered as he looked Tristan up and down. Honestly, I wouldnât mind trying it out with a man for
once.
Unable to hold it in any longer, Sophie burst out laughing.
âDo you know who he is?â she asked amid guffaws. I got to hand it to him for even thinking about
touching Mr. Tristan.
âDoes it matter who he is? Whatâs most important is who I am, isnât it?â
âMr. Tristan, he said youâre not important.â
âM-Mr. Tristan? Hey, missy, cut it out. Y-Your joke is not funnyâ¦â Trevor stammered. His father had
once warned him not to mess with anyone from the four major families of Jipsdale, especially not with
the head of the families, Tristan Lombard.
âYouâve got some guts,â Tristan said as he finally got up from his seat. âSo you want to play, huh?â
âYou guys canât scare me! Why would the real Mr. Tristan show up in a place like this? Iâm not dumb!â
Trevor retorted, even though he could feel his legs turning into jelly.
âIâm indeed Tristan Lombard. You can now think about how you should die to appease me.â
Upon hearing that, Trevor immediately fell to his knees.
âI-Is that really you, Mr. Tristan? Oh, my goodness. Iâm such a fool. I didnât mean to put you down. Iâm
so sorry!â
âIs that all?â Tristan snapped, his voice even louder now. âDo you have a warped understanding of who
I am? Is that why you think Iâm a kind person whoâd easily forgive those who insulted me?â
