Chapter 563
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
âIsnât it fun to enjoy your university years to the fullest? Why skip a grade? Alas, I can never understand
what itâs like to be a top student.â
Ysabelle was perfectly content with how things were at that moment.
Itâs wonderful to be able to do whatever I want and date whoever I want, so whatâs the rush?
âI donât want Mr. Tristan to wait too long. We said weâd get married after graduation.â
Words eluded Ysabelle as she shook her head in slight disapproval.
âYou twoâ¦â Is there a need to flaunt your affection for one another like that? Then again, itâs not like Iâm
still single.
Sandra nodded blankly.
In truth, she didnât understand what it was like to be a top student either, and she was an extremely
introverted person. Hence, getting acquainted with new people was not her stronghold.
âOnce you leave, I donât know who Iâd go to if I encounter a problem I canât solve!â she lamented.
âYou can come to me if thereâs anything you canât solve by yourself. Iâm not graduating right away, so Iâll
still be at the University of Medicine.â Sophie planned to condense the five-year program into two short
years.
âAll right!â
Nevertheless, they were still going to be at the same university.
Ysabelle and Sandra knew of Sophieâs plans to skip grades, but they werenât expecting her to complete
the entire program in just two yearsâ time.
âLooks like youâre really into Uncle Tristan,â Ysabelle commented. âOtherwise, you wouldnât be so
eager to marry him.â
âItâs not that Iâm eager. I just donât want him to wait too long. After all, he seems pretty insecure, and if
thatâs the case, itâd be better for us to tie the knot as soon as possible,â explained Sophie.
âHm? Why didnât Felix bring this up to me? Could it be that heâs not planning on marrying me and just
wants to date me for the fun of it?â The more Ysabelle thought about it, the more she felt something
was off.
Meanwhile, Felix let out a sneeze, completely unaware of the misfortune that was waiting for him.
That night, Tristan went to pick Sophie up. These days, if he didnât have anything important to attend
to, heâd pick her up from either the University of Medicine or Jipsdale University.
Hence, there wasnât a single person on both campuses that was unaware of the fact that Sophie was
taken, and there was nothing her admirers could do but mend their broken hearts.
Noticing the look they were shooting him, Tristan grew smug.
Yes, thatâs right. I love it when they canât stand me but still canât win against me. What a delightful
feeling!
On the other hand, Sophie was already used to them reacting this way, so she merely walked past
them with her gaze focused on the path ahead.
All of a sudden, Tristan wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her into his arms.
All of a sudden, Tristan wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her into his arms.
âWhatâs wrong?â
She had hardly gathered her wits when she noticed a red sports car speeding away.
Sophie furrowed her brows at the sight of that.
Speeding on campus was an utterly despicable thing to do, but unfortunately, the sports car was too
fast for Sophie to catch a glimpse of its license plate.
A line had formed between Tristanâs brows as well.
If he hadnât reacted quickly, she wouldâve gotten hurt, and the mere thought of that filled him with rage.
Who on earth has a death wish?
The couple continued strolling down their path. At that moment, they didnât investigate the matter
further, but they were certainly planning on figuring out who was behind the wheel once they got home.
Someone had to teach the reckless driver a lesson, after all.
Naturally, everyone else bore witness to the scene as well.
âSomeoneâs going to be in huge trouble.â
âSo what? They deserve it! This is a university campus. Whatâs so impressive about having a sports
car?â
âThatâs right! Fortunately, my goddess wasnât hurt!â
âOh, how I wish I was the damsel in distress! Heâs so handsome!â
âI wish I had a boyfriend like that. Heâs practically perfect!â
A single move from the perfect couple was enough to cause a stir, but the two remained clueless about
the commotion they had unintentionally created.
Meanwhile, Jennifer was displeased, for the private detective was unable to find out the manâs identity.
Thus, she drove to the agency.
This was the hardest task the agency had ever encountered since its establishment. âMs. Whitley,
thereâs nothing we can do. We know absolutely nothing about the man.â
âAm I not paying you enough? If thatâs the case, then name your price. I can give you all the money you
want!â
Jennifer believed there was nothing in the world that couldnât be resolved using money, but the agency
didnât want to ruin its own reputation over the matter. âThis isnât about money, Ms. Whitley.â
âNot about the money? Then is it a skill issue? You call yourselves the best private detective agency in
Jipsdale, but thatâs not true at all! Iâm going to shut you down today so you wonât go around scamming
people again!â she bellowed, her eyes red with anger.
This was a lead she had painstakingly obtained, and naturally, she wasnât willing to give up just like
that.
The harder it was to find out anything about the man, the more she felt something was amiss.
âThereâs really nothing we can do, Ms. Whitley. How about this? Weâll refund the deposit to you.â
This time, the private detective agency had bit off more than they could chew.
Jennifer narrowed her eyes menacingly as she gave them a once-over.
âI think you lot have no intentions of working in Jipsdale any longer!â
After making a huge fuss in the agency for a long while, she finally stepped out of the building.
It didnât take long for her to come into Nicholasâ field of vision. At that moment, he was in his car.
âThatâs her, Boss,â his subordinate reported.
Danger glinted in Nicholasâ eyes as he looked at her.
âWho does she think she is? How dare she investigate me? Teach her a lesson.â
Does she think anyone would be able to run an investigation on me? Is the Sable family a joke to her?
On the way back, Jennifer was hit by a car and sustained severe injuries. Convinced that it was
Sophieâs doing, she hated the woman to the bone.
âWhat? Jennifer was injured?â Sophie was doubtful when she caught wind of the news from Ysabelle.
After all, why would Jennifer get injured out of the blue?
âShe deserves it. You know sheâs been wishing misfortune upon you, so this is great! Sheâs the one
whoâs out of luck.â Ysabelle felt no sympathy for the woman and continued, âI heard her face is pretty
messed up. Sheâs the vainest person I know, so I bet sheâs in misery right now.â
Anyone who was at odds with Sophie was an enemy of Ysabelleâs.
Hence, there was no reason for her to feel an ounce of sympathy for Jennifer.
âYeah.â
But are things really as simple as that? Then again, Jenniferâs matters have nothing to do with me.
âSophie, seeing as Grandpa hasnât been looking for trouble with you lately, I guess your gift worked!â
I didnât expect Grandpa would be bought over with a gift, but oh well! The gift was pretty impressive,
after all.
Josiah hadnât been feeling well, but he refused to go to the hospital. Left with no other choice, Morgan
could only give Sophie a call. In the end, it was Sophie who brought her grandfather to the hospital.
Even so, the elderly man didnât fail to nag at the butler while they were on their way to the hospital.
âMorgan, it seems youâve developed a habit of disobeying my words,â he chastised.
âGrandpa, Morgan did it for your sake. You should go to the hospital for a checkup if youâre not feeling
well. How could you conceal your illness like that?â
