Chapter 498
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
Sophie went into her room to change after hanging up the phone.
Tristan had no idea what had happened since he had been in the shower before this.
âWhat happened? Are you going out now?â
âYes. TS Entertainment needs me.â
âIâll come with you then.â After all, Tristan had nothing else to do. He had Sean to look after Lombard
Group in his place.
âNo. Youâve been keeping me company for the entire day now. Get some rest. Iâll be back once Iâve
taken care of things there. Itâs nothing serious, so you donât have to come along.â
Tristan kept quiet.
âAlright then. You stay home,â Sophie said domineeringly.
âAre you sure you donât want me to come? Havenât I told you? Iâm feeling much better already. You
donât have to worry.â
âMr. Tristan, Iâm the doctor here. I know your body best.â
âAlright.â
Tristan knew he was never going to win this argument. Hence, he decided to let it slide.
âDrive safe.â
âOkay. Oh, right, you donât have to wait for me. I donât know what time Iâll return. So you can go to bed
first.â
She didnât know how long it would take her to take care of the issue.
That was why she didnât know what time she would return.
Tristan frowned.
âWhat is it about? Is it serious?â He thought everything was going well for TS Entertainment.
Why would she need to take so long if itâs just a small matter?
âAlright, Iâve told you everythingâs fine. Iâm leaving.â She didnât know how much longer Mark could hold
on. Hence, she had to get there as soon as possible.
âOkay.â
Tristan decided to let her be as he sent her off at the door.
âSleep early tonight, okay? Iâll be mad if I see that youâre still awake by the time I return.â He needs to
take better care of himself.
âOkay. Got it. Just go. Call me if you canât handle it. If youâre worried about my health, you can call
Sean.â
After all, Sean was also quite a big-shot in Jipsdale.
He believed that nothing was impossible for him.
Sophie slung her arms around his neck and kissed him on the lips.
âOkay, got it. I can handle this. Donât be such a worrywart.â With that, she turned around and entered
the elevator.
Tristan stood by the elevator, feeling a little dejected for he had wanted to tag along.
What a shame she wouldnât let him do that.
Emerald Gang.
Sunny felt daunted as he stared at the ferocious-looking men before him.
He had never faced these kinds of people before. That was why he was overwhelmed with fear.
But I canât back down no matter what since Mark is here. I will stick with him till the end.
âMark, havenât I told you? Youâre not fit to be in a gang. Weâre gathered here today because weâve
decided to eradicate Emerald Gang,â one of the men spat.
âReally? Well, weâll see about that! Do you seriously think youâre invincible?â
Markâs temper flared.
He couldnât stand to have his authority challenged even though he hated being the heir to Emerald
Gang.
He was going to fight back no matter what.
âHehe. Brat, youâre not going to give up till the very last second, huh? Well then, Iâll show you what my
gang is made of.â
âGet them! Emerald Gang will not exist anymore after today!â
Sunny was rendered speechless.
How could he be so rash and arrogant?
âSunny, you guys should leave first. This has nothing to do with you. You donât have to get involved in
this mess!â Sunny and his men had never gotten involved with the underworld before.
âMark, how could we leave you alone in times like these?â They were a loyal bunch.
âIâm ordering you to leave now. You address me as your leader, but youâre going to ignore what I ask of
you now?â
Mark was genuinely worried for their safety.
These men wouldnât give a da*n about who you are during the fight, and people get injured or killed in
fights.
What am I going to do if they get hurt?
âMark, weâve been following your orders all along. But if we were to leave now, weâre not worthy of
being called your friends.â
âThatâs right. We are part of The Wheelers no matter what. We wonât leave you during troubled times.â
âWe want to stick together no matter what. The worst that can happen is death. Itâs no big deal.â
Mark was at a loss for words.
He had nothing more to say to his friends.
They were always like that.
âI know you guys are loyal. But this isnât something that can be settled easily with loyalty. You guys
should leave.â
âLeave? No one is leaving today,â Harold yelled.
âHarold, donât push your luck. They have nothing to do with this.â
âMark, why are you so naïve? Do you think Iâll let them leave when theyâre your friends?â
Harold chuckled wickedly.
Mark clenched his fists tight. Da*n it. I shouldnât have brought them here.
None of these would have happened if he hadnât brought them along.
âOkay, letâs cut to the chase. Will you hand Emerald Gang over to me?â Harold had lost his patience.
âNo way!â
Mark had a pistol in his hand. He would never give in that easily now that he was the leader of Emerald
Gang.
The gang belonged to his father.
Right then, he was filled with rage
âGuess weâre doing this the hard way then. Guys, donât be shy. Attack!â
âProtect these four!â Mark said to one of his subordinates.
Just then, Sophie appeared at the door. Mark almost popped a vein when he saw her. He turned to
Sunny.
âSunny, did you call her? Why did you call her over during times like these?â
Mark didnât want to put Sophie in danger. After all, she was a girl.
âMark, I called her over because I thought she could handle this. You should know sheâs not the girl she
once was anymore.â
In fact, Sophie knew a lot of big-shots.
Any one of them could take care of the problem easily.
He couldnât see why he shouldnât call her over when that was the case.
Moreover, Mark had mentioned that Sophie would forever be a part of the Wheelers no matter what.
âYo, what a lovely young lady. Mark, sheâs not your girlfriend, is she? Well, you can have Emerald Gang
if you hand me the girl. We can let you off if you do so.â Harold had never seen such a pretty young
lady before.
She looks even prettier than the women I saw on television.
âHarold, donât you dare lay a finger on her.â Mark was enraged.
