Chapter 386
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
âSophie, you should let Danny walk you out!â Eustace sounded concerned.
âThatâs right, Sophie. Iâll walk you out right now. It wonât take more than a few minutes.â
How can we let her walk out alone?
With no further protest from Sophie, Danny escorted her to the main gate.
âSophie, Iâm really sorry. Iâm supposed to send you home, but I canât do so because duty calls.â
Cognizant that they were in a hurry to go on a mission, Sophie would never have allowed him to do so.
âApologies are not needed. You can go back now.â
Sophie hailed a taxi and left right away.
âSophie is really amazing!â Whatâs wrong with our captain? How can he not recruit such an exceptional
person to the team?
By the time Sophie returned to Wisteria Apartments, it was already ten at night.
No sooner had she punched in the code for the door and opened it than Ysabelle sprang forward from
the couch.
âSophie, where did you go? Do you know how worried I was?â Ysabelle was on the brink of tears.
âSomething came up. Didnât I tell you earlier about it? Why are you still so worried?â
âYouâve been gone for so long and we couldnât reach you, so how can we not be concerned?â
We were worried sick, all right?
After throwing Tristan a glance, Sophie gently nudged Ysabelle aside. Oh no, he sure looks angry right
now.
âI just went running some errands, and the place required me to turn off my phone. Thatâs why.â
Tristan was rendered speechless.
While all of us were filled with anxiety, she was just running errands?
âWhy didnât you call? Donât you know that we would be worried?â
âI forgot, as I was in a rush. Iâm sorry. I promise not to make you worry the next time.â
I really didnât mean it. Itâs just that the place Eustace brought me to canât be revealed to others.
âWhere in the world did you go? Felix couldnât find you anywhere,â Ysabelle questioned, unable to
control her emotions.
âYou even sent Felix to look for me?â
âDonât overthink it. We were just worried about you.â
âMmm-hmm, I know.â
I admit itâs my fault for disappearing for such a long period.
âAll right now, all that matters is that youâre fine. I was so worried I couldnât even drink any water.â
Ysabelle then poured two glasses of water; one for Sophie and the other for herself.

Nevertheless, Ysabelleâs reaction still made Sophie guilty.
âIâll make it up to you by buying you drinks the next time we go out.â
âNo, do it now. I have yet to have my dinner!â Famished, Ysabelle couldnât wait for another day.
âHave you not eaten too?â
The usually calm Tristan hasnât had his dinner, too? I lost contact with him for about ten hours, thatâs
all.
âYeah.â Obviously, I havenât eaten.
Even since he got to know her, he lost the ability to maintain his composure.
Anything that was related to her would affect him in one way or another.
âWhy are you so stubborn? Didnât I tell you to wait at home for me?â In the end, she still chose to
disobey and head out.
The situation was too urgent to be ignored.
âI promise this will never happen again. Are you satisfied now?â
âIs Eustace and the others in some sort of trouble?â Itâs never good whenever Eustace is involved.
âMmm-hmm, but I canât tell you much about it. I hope you understand.â She couldnât say much as the
information was classified.
âI do. Nonetheless, since you intend to compensate Ysabelle, Iâm entitled to something too, as I was
also given a scare.â
He obviously didnât want to miss out on any benefits now that she had returned.
Otherwise, the few hours he spent worrying would have been a waste.
His words ignited a glint of amusement in Sophieâs eyes.
âSo, what is it that you want?â Fine. Iâll try my best to satisfy whatever request he has.
âIâve yet to decide what I want. Why donât we have dinner first, and Iâll tell you about it later.â
âOkay. Coincidentally, Iâm hungry too.â She didnât manage to eat due to how busy she was earlier.
Having had nothing since noon, she was truly famished.
âI planned to visit Sunny today, but couldnât make it in the end. I wonder if his hand is doing any better.â
As he was recuperating in the hospital recently, Sunny didnât participate in any of The Wheelersâ
marketing activities.
âWith Arius around, what is there to worry about?â If Arius canât manage the situation, no one can.
âThatâs true.â
Weâll have to wait till tomorrow to visit Sunny at the hospital.
After learning that they were going out for a meal, Felix drove out to join them.
Are you kidding me? After all the effort I put in, Iâm not going to miss out on Sophieâs treat.
Once they arrived at the restaurant in Tristanâs car, Ysabelleâupon opening the doorâwas greeted by
the sight of Felix waiting for them.
âFelix, what are you doing here? Sophie didnât mention that she was giving you a treat, so donât you
feel embarrassed for inviting yourself?â
How shameless can he be?â
âItâs just a meal. Iâm sure Sophie wonât mind at all, right?â
âWould you leave if I told you that I do?â Sophie teased, causing Felixâs lips to twitch.
âSophie, do you really want to embarrass me in front of everyone?â
âWhy shouldnât she?â Tristan threw the question back at him, rendering the latter speechless.
Forget it. What else can I say? The realization that no one cared about him devastated Felix.
âSophie, look at how pathetic he is. Why donât you let him join us?â That was how Ysabelle was. Even
though she loved to bully Felix, she would be the first to waver whenever she saw his pitiful expression.
âMr. Northley, I was just kidding. I hope you donât mind.â
Felix immediately shook his head.
âNot at all. Why would I? As long as youâre treating me to a meal, you have the liberty to say whatever
you want.â
âFelix, how can you be so spineless?â Ysabelle couldnât help but criticize him. Itâs just a meal. Is he
really that desperate?
âWhat does it mean to have one? Will it fill the stomach?â
Ysabelle chose to ignore him instead.
He deserves to be bullied for being so annoying all the time.
As the group arrived at their private room, Felix announced, âI have some wonderful news to share.
Nicholas is miserable right now.â
âWhoâs Nicholas?â Ysabelle asked curiously, as she had no idea who he was.
âHow miserable is he?â Sophie inquired in a nonchalant tone.
