Chapter 280
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
Chapter 280 Only You âItâs Transfix Cosmeticsâ annual event today, Ms. Willow. If Ms. Sophie finds
outâ¦â Wilma trailed off. Willow sneered. âTrying to threaten me with Sophie? Do you think Iâm scared of
her?â Wilma frowned. Itâs going to be hard dealing with Ms. Willow without Ms. Sophie around. âI said,
fire her, or else.â Caleb heard the commotion. When he came to see what was going on, he saw Willow
making an unreasonable demand. A frown appeared on his brows. I take my eyes off them for two
seconds, and this happens?
âWhatâs going on, Willow?â âCaleb, this lowly employee wonât even listen to me! Unbelievable!â Willow
teared up. She obviously did it on purpose! A simple apology isnât enough! Caleb sighed. âEnough,
Willow. Calm down.â âIâm sorry, Ms. Willow! Iâm really sorry! Please, have mercy on me!â Wendy was in
tears right now. She didnât mean what she did to Willow. That was just something she did on the spur of
the moment. âThatâs enough. Wear this, Willow.â Caleb took his suit jacket off and draped it over her.
Tristan and Sophie came back just in time to see this. Sophie approached the scene. âWhat
happened?â she asked. Wendy cried even harder the moment she saw Sophie. âYouâre behind this,
arenât you, Sophie? You hate me, so you told her to splash that wine on me.â The more Willow talked,
the angrier she was. How could they do this to me? Sophie gave her a look that said, âAre you mad?â
âWhat are you, mad? Shut up and go home. This is an office.â âWe still donât know whose fault this is.
Can you be nicer to her?â Caleb chided. Canât you see sheâs crying? Tristan looked at him. âWhat
happened?â he asked, and everyone quieted down. âMs. Sophie didnât tell me to do anything. I just got
angry seeing Ms. Willow trying to seduce Ms. Sophieâs boyfriend, so I splashed her with wine.â Wendy
decided to step up for the woman who had given them so much.
I wonât let anyone slander her. âWhy, you littleâ¦â Willow felt like she could have a heart attack at any
moment. The other ladies nodded in agreement. âYeah, we saw it too. While Ms. Sophie was drawing
the prizes for everyone, Ms. Willow kept showing off her skin to Ms. Sophieâs boyfriend, but he didnât
even spare her a look.â Soon, everyone else chimed in as well. âWe saw it too.â âYeah. Trying to steal
your own sisterâs boyfriend is despicable. I canât believe sheâd do this.â The more they spoke up, the
paler Willowâs face became. âT-Thatâs a lie! Theyâre lying, Caleb! I didnât do anything!â She looked to
Caleb for help, but he shook his head. Apparently, he didnât believe her at all. âAll right, thatâs it. Weâre
going home.â It was embarrassing to find out that his sisters were fighting over one man. âYouâre
leaving? After she hit someone?â Sophie blurted coldly. Calebâs brows knitted together. âWeâre not
gonna talk about this anymore. I know Willowâs at fault, but your employeeâs partly responsible too.â
And weâre your family. Sheâs not. âIâm fine, Ms. Sophie. This is partly my responsibility too.â Wendy felt
a little ashamed of herself since she didnât mean to cause Sophie any trouble. âApologize,â Sophie said
coldly. Nobody told them to come. They came uninvited and tried to bully my employee. That is
something I wonât stand for. âNo! I wonât apologize!â Willow snapped. I will not apologize to that lowly
peasant! âSophie!â Caleb was incredulous. âSheâs your sister!â âDonât make me repeat myself.â Sophie
shot Willow a look, and the arrogant woman hid behind her brother. âWillow, you did slap her. An
apology is nothing. Itâs expected.â Caleb had to say that since Wendy was bleeding from what Willow
had done to her. Rage filled Willowâs heart, and she uttered reluctantly, âIâm sorry.â Everyone was
starting to gossip about her, and she had no plans of being an exhibition for their entertainment. âIâm
sorry too, Ms. Willow, but please never seduce Ms. Sophieâs boyfriend again.â Godd*mmit. Willow was
speechless. Sheâs saying that on purpose, isnât she?
Wilma nudged Wendyâs arm, telling her to stop talking. At the end of the day, Willow was still Sophieâs
sister, and Wendy would make things worse for the family if she kept talking. Wendy finally shut up.
âYou may leave now.â Sophie chased them away immediately. They would have been denied entrance
if not for Josiahâs sake, but they took that kindness and trampled all over it like they usually did. A sigh
escaped Calebâs lips, and he took Willow away. Only Sophie, Tristan, and Transfix Cosmeticsâ
employees were left. Wendy quickly bowed to Sophie. âIâm really, really sorry, Ms. Sophie. I didnât mean
to put you in a tough spot.â Her brain felt like it short-circuited for a moment, and she couldnât hold back
from splashing Willow with wine. âItâs water under the bridge now, but donât do anything like that again,
Wendy. I donât want to see you get hurt.â Sophie didnât lecture Wendy, as she did that all for her sake
after all. âYes.â Wendy was too ashamed to even look at Sophie. âYou guys go on ahead. Iâll be going
home now.â âAre you sure youâre all right, Ms. Sophie?â Wilma was still worried about her. âIâm fine.
Just calm everyone down and tell them to have a good time.â The new year is drawing near. No need
to sour their mood over something so trivial. âOf course, Ms. Sophie. Iâll give Wendy an earful. Iâll make
sure she doesnât act impulsively next time.â âDonât lecture her. Sheâs already scared enough as is.â
Willow is still a terrifying woman when she wants to be. They exited the venue, and Tristan held the
carâs door open for her. âWhy are you looking at me?â
âI need consolation.â Tristan held her hand. âFor what?â âI canât believe a witch like Willow was trying to
seduce me. Do you know how scary that was?â Huh? âI thought you were looking forward to it. Youâre a
guy, arenât you?â âIâm not like other guys, so how am I supposed to know what they think? Personally, I
donât like any other women.â Sophie nodded. She had no reason not to believe him, as he would have
slept with all kinds of women if he wanted to. Those women would kill to have that chance. Tristan
pulled her into his embrace. âNow give me some sugar and delete that horrible memory from my mind.
I can feel the nightmare fuel tank feeling up.â âWait. So youâre saying she actually tried to seduce you?â
Tristan tried to remember what Willow had done. Yes, Willow was right beside him at the party, but he
didnât even talk to her. What she did wasnât of interest to him. âI think so? I donât think Wendy and the
girls would lie.â âWait, so you donât know what she did? You werenât even paying attention?â
