Nydia turned around and saw two police officers walking toward her with solemn faces and irrepressible authority.

Nydia subconsciously clenched her fists. She had a bad feeling, but she still remained calm. “What is it?”

The police officers arrived before her quickly. As he showed his work pass, he said, “You’re suspected of a murder. Please come with us.”

Nydia’s eyebrows twitched. “The results of the investigation were out? But I didn’t kill anyone. Why did they say that?” she wondered.

“Are you guys mistaken” Nydia calmly met the police officer’s sharp gaze. “I didn’t kill anyone.”

“Who else could it be? You bitch!” A sharp female voice came from the door of the Jackson Group building.

Nydia was about to turn around when a slap landed on her face without warning, almost knocking her to the ground.

Seeing this, the police officers immediately stood in front of Nydia. “Mrs. Brooks, please calm down.”

Nydia covered her face and looked over. She finally saw who had hit her.

It was a middle–aged woman dressed fashionably. She looked pretty much like Josephine, but her personality and behavior were more shrewish and domineering.

Hearing the police officer call her Mrs. Brooks, Nydia understood that the woman in front of her was Josephine’s mother.

“Calm down? How can I calm down? My precious daughter was killed!” Pythia shouted. She pointed at Nydia through the gap between the two police officers and cursed. It’s her. She killed my daughter. Get her quickly

“Don’t slander me!” Enduring the burning pain on her face, Nydia suppressed her anger. “Her death has nothing to do with me. She jumped down herself! You said that I killed her. Show me the evidence!”

“You bitch, how dare you deny it!” Pythia roared in anger.

She gritted her teeth and said, “Evidence? Before my daughter died, she sent me a message saying that you asked her out for a walk for no reason. She even said that you threatened to kill her if she didn’t go. In the end, she went and died. Who else could it be but you?”

Nydia’s eyes widened in disbelief. “I never sent her a message, nor did I threaten her. Besides, why would I kill her for no reason?”

“What else could it be? Of course, it’s because of Mr. Jackson. You’re jealous that he loves my daughter and hasn’t touched you for five years, so you’ve always wanted to get rid of my daughter and monopolize Mrs. Jackson’s position. You bitch, you’re so vicious!”

As Pythia spoke, she suddenly rushed past the police officers like a crazy lioness and pounced on Nydia. Nydia did not react in time. Her hair was grabbed by Pythia, and she fell to the ground.

“Cive me back my daughter!” Pythia grabbed Nydia’s hair and smashed her head on the floor. I’ll send you to her today!”

Nydia’s face turned pale from the pain. She wanted to break free from Pythia, but Pythia was shockingly strong. The two police officers took a long time to pull her away.

Nydia raised her hand and gave Pythia a tight slap on the face.

“I told you I didn’t kill her!” She glared at Pythia I don’t care to kill someone because of a man!”

Pythia was stunned by her slap. A few seconds later, she exploded in anger.

She got up from the ground with a whoosh and pounced on Nydia again.

Nydia was prepared this time and fought with her recklessly.

The commotion was getting louder and louder. The two police officers couldn’t handle it and immediately called the Jackson Group’s security for help.

After a while, they were surrounded by people.

This was probably the first time they had seen the president’s wife, who had always been elegant, fight so disregarding her image. The employees of the Jackson Group exclaimed and mocked her.

“Ms. Brooks’s mother called the police in front of Mr. Jackson, but he didn’t say anything. Don’t you understand what this

means?”

Nydia’s hand slapping Pythia froze.

Pythia took the opportunity to counterattack. In an instant, she flipped over and rode on Nydia. She grabbed Nydia’s head and slammed it to the ground hard.

“You’re not allowed to hit Nydial” Lance and a few people from the Sharp Group rushed out. When the Brooks family saw this, they immediately went forward to stop them.

The two groups of people immediately started fighting each other, neither wanting to let the other go.

“Stop!” A cold and deep voice sounded, immediately silencing the noisy crowd.

A path instantly opened up in the crowd.

Nydia’s heart skipped a beat. She looked up anxiously.

Cade walked toward her step by step.

He had a cold face, and his jawline was tense. There was no warmth in his eyes. His thin lips parted slightly, and every word was like a blade. “Get lost!”

Nydia was stunned on the spot. Her body trembled as a chill ran through her entire body.

Pythia still wanted to hit her but could only let go resentfully and stand up when Cade’s cold gaze swept over her.

Nydia ignored the pain in her body and quickly got up from the ground. She went forward and grabbed Cade’s arm. “Listen to me. I walked to the sixth floor alone to get some fresh air that night. Then she…

Nydia suddenly laughed. She laughed so hard that tears flowed out of her

eyes.

She let go of him weakly, and her shoulders slumped. Her hands fell to her sides as she allowed the police officer to handcuff

her.

“Nydia!” Lance and the others wanted to stop the police but were refused by Nydia.

She forced a reassuring smile. I’m fine. As long as I explain myself, the law will clear my name. You guys work hard and wait

for me.”

Pythia was still clamoring behind her. “Clear your ass! Let me tell you, a life for a life. We won’t accept a settlement. I want you to pay for my daughter’s life!”

Nydia ignored her clamor and nodded at Lance and the others again. Then, she followed the police officer into the car.

The moment the car door closed, Nydia looked at Cade.

However, he averted his gaze indifferently, turned around, and disappeared from her sight without looking back.

Nydia sneered and wiped away the last drop of tears.
