I Love You More, Cade by Coral Hume ( Nydia and Jackson)
Chapter 46
However, the pillow missed the target and hit the female secretary entering the door.
The female secretary respectfully greeted, âHi, Mr. Jackson.â
Cade took a cold glance at her without saying anything and walked out.
The female secretary nervously swallowed and thought, âHe is indeed just as ruthless as rumored. My boss is the best. He is gentle and kind.
The door was closed. Nydiaâs chest was still heaving heavily.
The secretary walked up to her, asking cautiously, âMiss Sharp, are you okay?â
Nydia let out a couple of deep breaths, forcing herself to calm down, and asked, âWhereâs Troy? I need to talk to him.â

âMr. Miles was having a morning meeting in the company. He told me to tell you that Justin has been taken to the Creekheim police station. Because all the money had been recovered, and he took the initiative to confess the whereabouts of several fugitive. criminals. He should be able to avoid the death penalty, replied the secretary.
Nydia breathed a sigh of relief, thinking, âAs long as he stayed alive, there was still hope for everything. Thanks to Troy, or else I wouldnât know what to do this time. I had to thank him in person.
âWhen will Mr. Milesâs meeting end?â Nydia asked the female secretary.
â10:30.â The female secretary glanced down at her wristwatch. âThatâs 20 minutes later.â
Nydia opened the map app and checked it out. Driving from the hospital to the Miles Group would take about twenty minutes.
Time was a bit tight, but she could make it in time.
She was about to tidy up a bit when the door was opened again.â
Stuart came in. âMaâam, your discharge procedures have been completed,â he said respectfully.
Nydia watched him, thinking back to the punch he threw at Justinâs face. With just that one hit, Justin was knocked out.
âHe looks scholarly and gentle but was actually so ruthless, thought Nydia.

âI never realized you are such a good fighter, Stuart.â Nydia sneered. âI had the pleasure of witnessing it last night.â
Stuart seemed utterly unfazed by her sarcasm, as cool as a cucumber. âThanks, maâam.â
To be honest, Cade was the only person who could really affect his emotions.
Nydia stopped looking at him, turned around, and walked out. Stuart immediately followed up.
âWhat are you following me for?â Nydia shot him an impatient glare. She just felt annoyed seeing anything related to the Jackson family, especially Cade and his crew.
Stuart bowed and said, âThe president is worried about your safety, so he wants me to follow you around 24/7 to protect you.â
Nydia felt she had just heard the funniest joke in the world and sarcastically retorted, âProtect me? Do you even believe that?â
Stuart didnât say anything because that was indeed not something Cade said; it was just his own guess.
Cade only instructed him to stay on guard without leaving her.
But Stuart felt that Cade really cared about Nydiaâs safety because he was so worried that he rushed all the way to Mewarting City without even wearing his shoes when he couldnât reach her on the phone last night.
Nydia didnât even need to think to know that these words were all Stuartâs own ideas. Protect? This word was just weird and totally uncalled for to describe her relationship with Cade. Instead, monitoring was more suitable.
Nydia ignored him and got out of the car with the female secretary.
Stuart opened his car door and nodded politely. âMaâam.â This was his way of saying that she needed to get in his car.
Nydia rolled her eyes at him and said to the female secretary, âYou go ahead; Iâll be right behind you.â
The female secretary nodded, glanced at Stuart, and saw Stuart smile at her. She immediately got goosebumps all over her body and bent down to get into the car.
so scary, just like his boss!â she thought.
It was quiet in the car the whole way.

Nydia wanted to give Lance a call but realized after taking out her phone that this was a new phone and all of the previous records, including contacts, were gone.
She was so pissed off. Her eyes were glaring at the only number left. âWhat a shameless man! Not only did he save his number, but he also remarked himself as âMr. Jacksonâ, cursed Nydia inwardly.
âMaâam, I already called Mr. Nguyen just now,â Stuart said as he focused on driving.
Nydia stared at the back of his head, asking, âHow did you know I was going to call him?â
âBecause Justinâs incident had the biggest impact on the Sharp Group. Now that youâve resolved it, you definitely want to tell Mr. Nguyen as soon as possible so he can reassure the others,â Stuart stated calmly.
âYouâre pretty smart,â Nydia said sarcastically.
âI learned it all from Mr. Jackson,â Stuart replied.
Feeling helpless, Nydia chose to take a break and closed her eyes.
Nydia had just arrived when Troy came out of the meeting room.
After saying hi to Nydia, Troy noticed Stuart standing behind her.
âHi, Mr. Miles,â Stuart greeted politely.
Troy nodded, his expression kind of complicated. After all, he almost got punched by this young guy last night.
He had heard about Cadeâs reputation for being vengeful and vicious and always thought the rumors were tinged with fear of the powerful. But last night, he experienced it firsthand.
When he told Cade that Nydia was going to face Justin alone, Cadeâs ruthless side came out. He couldnât stop Cade at all, and he almost got hit by Stuart.
Cade looked like he could kill someone any minute. Troy was so scared that something might happen, so he immediately called the police.
âWhy didnât Mr. Jackson come with you?â he asked politely.
Chapter 46
âMr. Jackson canât make it due to business, so he asked me to say hi on his behalf. Thanks for taking care of Mrs. Jackson these past few days. He also said you are welcome to visit the Jackson Group,â Stuart replied.
âOkay, thanks for Mr. Jacksonâs generosity,â said Troy. âCan such polite words actually come out of Cadeâs mouth?â He was surprised for a few seconds.
Nydia thought this was probably also Stuartâs selfâdrafted speech.
But she was wrong this time. This was actually said by Cade himself.
When he was speaking this, he had no expression at all, showing not a tiny bit of emotion. It sounded like he was reciting a textbook.
Nydia and Troy walked into the office, with Stuart standing guard at the door. The female secretary wanted to ask him to go to the lounge, but Stuart refused and flashed that smile at her again, scaring her off instantly.
âWhat did the doctor say?â Troy placed the coffee next to Nydiaâs hand and sat down opposite her.
âThanks.â Nydia took a sip and calmly said, âNo big deal, just a bit tired.â
âNow that everythingâs sorted out. Just go back and take a good rest for a while,â added Troy.
âAlright. You really did me a solid this time. I donât even know how to thank you.â Nydia put down her cup, looking at him sincerely. âIf you need any help at work, just let me
know.â
Successful folks like Troy naturally werenât lacking in material things. Even if they hadnât got it yet, Nydia definitely couldnât afford it.
So she thought about work, and Troy mentioned last time that he really appreciated her professionalism. Maybe she could help out when he was having some trouble in business.
Troy knew Nydia didnât want to owe anyone favors. If he refused, she might not come to him for help in the future. Then he would really lose a decent friend. And he really appreciated Nydia and definitely wanted to collaborate with her.
âWould I seem too much mercenary if I say thereâs actually a case that I need your help with?â Troy raised an eyebrow, smiling slyly.
Nydia was speechless, thinking, âThis old man is showing off again.

âWhat do you mean by âseem? You are,â she joked.
âReally? Everyone else says I look like a sophisticated professor,â replied Troy.
âA professor teaching someone how to drag race, huh?â mocked Nydia.
âTeaching someone how to conduct themselves,â Troy answered.
Nydia was left speechless again.
