I Love You More, Cade by Coral Hume ( Nydia and Jackson)
Chapter 27
Cade controlled himself and replied, âTodayâs schedule must have exhausted you. Get some rest. Your wounds still need time to heal.â In the past, he would immediately say yes. However, this time, he dodged her question and changed the topic.
Josephine experienced heartbreak, yet she put on the mask. She nodded and smiled gently, âAll right.â
Cade watched her get into the bed and tucked her up.
Josephine asked, âIâve appointed a followâup appointment tomorrow. Can you go to the hospital with me?â
Cade replied, âSure.â
Soon, Josephine fell asleep, her breathing gradually slowing down.
Cade looked at Josephine coldly for a few seconds and left the room.
When the door closed, Josephine felt a sudden fall in temperature. Tears filled her eyes, running down her cheeks. She bit down on her lip hard until it bled..
Later, she opened her red bulging eyes and swore fiercely, âNydia, you made me do this!â
Cade took a shower in the guest bedroom. After reviewing the files for a while, he lay in the bed and closed his eyes, thinking. âNydia sounds too quiet next door. Her wounds look pretty deep. I wonder if she has taken care of them. I donât want my sheet to be stained with her blood.â
Thinking of that, Cade furrowed his brow. He rose from the bed, grabbed an antibiotic ointment, and walked to Nydiaâs bedroom. He tried to push the door open, but sadly, it was locked. Thus, he cursed inside, Well, I hope she is lucky enough.
not to get inflammation!â
Cade dropped the ointment at the door with a darkened expression. With that, he returned to the guest bedroom and slammed the door.
The birthday party exhausted Nydia, so she fell asleep after she treated her wounds. She slept deeply and did not wake up until 9 a.m. the following day.
Nydia cried inside, âGod. My hands hurt badly. I think my wounds become inflamed. She quickly cleaned herself up and drove to the hospital.
Nydia requested emergency treatment and squeezed into the elevator, holding her appointment sheet. Several young doctors were chatting there.
A male doctor asked, âBentley, have you decided to settle down upon your return to the country?â
âYeah. Iâve decided to settle down here.â A gentle voice rose.

âItâs you!â
Bentley was shocked as well. He smiled gently and asked, âI didnât expect to see you here. Have you got your appointment?â
Nydia nodded and replied, âYes, Iâve had it.â She looked at
After with shining eyes and asked, âAre you a doctor now?
Their conversation soon drew the other doctorsâ attention. They did not recognize Nydia because she was wearing a mask. However, Nydiaâs elegant attire, sparkling eyes, and perfect figure hinted to them that she was a beauty.
A doctor smiled meaningfully and asked, âBentley, do you know her?â His gaze shifted back and forth between Bentley and Nydia.
Bentley answered while staring at Nydia, âSheâs a friend of mine.â
âWhat kind of friend? Like girlfriend?â The other male doctors joined the gossip group.
Bentley did not want them to make fun of Nydia and him. Therefore, when the elevator door opened, Bentley was the first to step out and said to Nydia, âFollow me.â
Bentley was 6,2 feet tall, with broad shoulders and a slim waistline. He looked like he worked out a lot. With his gentle face, he looked graceful in the white coat.
Nydia noticed that all the female doctors and nurses winked at Bentley when they passed him, so she could not help but chuckle, murmuring inside, âOf course. Who wouldnât like a handsome guy like Bentley?â
Bentley captured Nydiaâs smile and asked in a gentle voice, âWhatâs so funny?â
Nydia honestly replied, smiling. âBentley, do you have a fan club I donât know about? I noticed that many girls winked at
you.
Hearing that, Bentley shook his head frustratedly. His eyes revealed his fondness for Nydia. He asked, âSo, what brings you to the emergency room?â
Nydia raised her hands before Bentley and replied, âCheck my hands.â
Bentley reached out and gently grasped Nydiaâs hands. Glancing at her wounds, he frowned and asked, âHow did you get those deep cuts?â
Nydia answered plainly, âAccidentally.â
Bentley raised his head and looked into Nydiaâs eyes, saying, âCome with me. Iâm going to apply some ointment on your wounds.â Then, he took over Nydiaâs handbag and added, âLetâs go.â
Nydia was stunned. Bentley looked at Nydiaâs hand and explained with a smile, âYour hands are injured. Itâs okay for me to hold the bag for you. Doctors always help their patients, right?â
Nydia felt relieved after hearing Bentleyâs explanation. She murmured to herself, âIt is inconvenient for me to hold my handbag with these hands. I guess it would be fine for Bentley to hold it for me for a while. Thinking of that, she said,

âThank you.â
Then, Nydia followed Bentley to the treatment room.
Josephine stepped out of the vice principalâs office and spotted Nydia was with Bentley. She thought, âThey are talking and laughing like an intimate couple:
Josephine sneered and pretended to be surprised, crying, âHey. Does she look like Nydia? Is that her?â
Cade followed Josephineâs gaze and looked over. When he captured Nydia, his expression instantly darkened.
Josephine added fuel to the fire. âI suppose I mistook that lady for Nydia. The guy is holding the handbag for her. I can tell theyâre a couple from a glance. With that, she secretly observed Cadeâs reaction. Unexpectedly, Cade looked away after a glance at Nydia and Bentley.
Josephine wondered, âIt seems like Cade isnât bothered by that. Am I just overthinking? When she was lost in her thoughts, Cade reminded her coldly. âLetâs go.â
âComing.â Josephine followed up with a brisk pace.
Bentley tenderly wrapped Nydiaâs wounds with gauze. Nydia did not feel it hurt during the whole process
âAll right. Iâll prescribe some antiâinflammatories for you.â Bentley led Nydia back to his office.
As Bentley typed, Nydia casually glanced around his office and noticed the white walls adorned with numerous certificates and posters about intracranial knowledge.
Nydia heard the sound of printing when she was looking around. She turned over to take the prescription sheet from
Bentley.
She pondered, âBentley is so gentle. He always wears a smile. Could it be just a professional habit for doctors? But Iâve never encountered anyone as kindâhearted as him.â
Bentley asked, âWhat are you thinking?â
Nydia replied, âIâm considering scheduling another appointment so you can earn your commission. I canât ask you to do it
for free.â
Bentley replied, âWell, Iâm not helping for nothing.â
Nydia was stunned and could not say a word because she did not expect Bentley to be so blunt. Cadeâs warning flashed over her mind. She thought, âDoes Bentley have an ulterior motive for approaching me?
Bentley grinned and explained, âJust buy me a lunch,â
Nydia felt relieved. She complained inside, âCanât he finish his words at one time? She was embarrassed after realizing she misunderstood Bentley. A few seconds later, she replied, âSure. Do you have any favorite restaurants?â
Bentley lowered his head to check the time on his watch. He pursed his lips and chuckled. âWell,â he replied, âI suppose the best option is the hospitalâs canteen since I have surgery later.â

Nydiaâs phone rang when she and Bentley walked out of the office. It was Lance. He asked Nydia to return to the company as soon as possible for an emergency.
Bentley noticed the panicked look on Nydiaâs face and comforted her, saying, âItâs okay. We can have lunch another day. You seem to have something emergent to handle.â
âIâm so sorry.â With that, Nydia strode away.
Bentley stared at Nydiaâs back, his thoughts drifting away. Suddenly, his phone vibrated in his pocket. He glanced at the caller ID and frowned slightly. Nonetheless, he picked it up.
âGet yourself home now!â A middleâaged manâs roaring rose from the phone. Bentley gritted his teeth after hearing that
order.
