CHLOE’S POV***

After Ryder left my room, I was confused about his reaction, it was not how I expected him to react to the painting, and I yet I could not fathom why he did so.

I scurried out of my chamber downstairs to the garden and realized that there were so many cars coming into the pack house today, it felt like an occasion had been held and I wasn’t aware.

“Rose, is it always busy like this at the pack house?”

“What?” Rose who had her eyes previously fixed at my drawing of the flower seemed stunned. “Oh no, I think that his majesty called for a meeting with the Alphas and it must be truly important”

“Oh, I see… But why are they coming with so much luggage?”

“They are important guest from afar, so they get to spend the night at each meeting and be treated with so much respect”

“Oh, I see…” I nodded my head and continued with the painting. “My Luna, if you do not mind me. asking, how did you learn to paint, because your painting seems so realistic and beautiful!”

“Thanks, Rose, I went to the art school at Dark Moon Pack but had to drop out because my adopted. mother thought that it was of no value since one day I would be sold off to a man in marriage”

Just then, a voice cracked his throat from behind, Rose and I both turned around to get a good view of who it was, and seeing that it was his majesty, she immediately bowed her head and scurried

away.

“That is a beautiful painting” He compliments and walks closer to me”

“Thanks, let hope that you are not going to ask me to discard this one”

“Look Chloe, about earlier, I apologize that was not my intention, but you caught me at a bad

moment”

“Is that what you think of me each time you look at me, as a beast?” He asked and I turned to stare at his face, for the first time there was an expression on his face and it was that of sadness mixed with hatred.

“Is that what you think of yourself, as a beast, that is not what I see when I look at that painting. I see a king in his mighty form ready to defend his love ones, the same way you defended me that day against my mother, even with your claws, you held me in your arms so tenderly and never hurt me, that who I see each time that I look at you”

I explained my emotions to him, he opened his mouth to speak but we were interrupted by three figures that walked up to us and I felt my wolf filled with rage.

“Your majesty! “They bowed their head and I could feel Noah’s gaze on me while I avoided his side. His gaze finally drifted to the painting on the ground.

“I see Chloe that you still have your thing for painting, it is so beautiful”

“Yeah, my Luna is so talented, I am so proud of her” Ryder suddenly wrapped his hand around me, although I did not react, but I was so furious seeing the rage in Noah’s eyes.
