I immediately pulled away from her, she was panting heavily, her eyes filled with desire. I understood the implications my delay was going to cause but there was nothing that I could do.

“I will get the kitchen to prepare lunch for us, do you have a particular preference?” I got away from the bed, there was no response from her, no doubt she was disappointed.

I stride out of the room and in the hallway was Aiden who seemed to be waiting for me. “Your Majesty, how is she?”

“She is fine and in her heat”

“What are you going to do about it?”

“I am not sure yet, but get the kitchen to prepare something for her and ask Carmel not to restrict her from coming to my chambers”

“What!! I thought you were the one that wanted to stay away from her for her protection, now that she is in her heat, do you think that is a good idea?”

“You saw what she did to herself just because she wanted to see me, I do not know what she would do next, I can’t stop but most especially I need her to be closer to my side now that she is in her hear”

Yes your majesty, I will inform Carmel of your instruction” He narrowed his eyes down to me, no doubt he had something else to say but kicked against it.

Aiden scurried towards the hallway that led to the kitchen and just then she met Carmel.

“Gamma! How is the Luna?”

“She is doing alright, ask the kitchen to prepare something for his majesty and His Luna”

“They are going to be eating together?” She seemed stunned at this information with her brows furrowed at him.

“Yes Carmel, she is his wife, and one more thing, he has requested that she be allowed to his Chamber at all times

“What! This one is different, he seems attached to her, is she aware of his true nature?”

“And what is his true nature, nel I suggest that you control that mouth of yours and know

when to speak and when not to else you might get into trouble, now deliver his message to the kitchen”

Aiden concluded she opened her mouth to speak, but he scurried away.

I sat at the dining table with Ryder seated opposite to me, the table was filled with a variety of meals ranging from seafood, beef, mashed potatoes, and salad, I stared at the table and gulped in my

saliva.

“Come on Chloe, go ahead and eat” He had a cold stare at me but I could not go on with the meal, even while I held the cutlery, my hands were trembling. It seemed like he understood the trauma that I was going through, he picked up some lobsters, carefully peeled them out the back and while I was staring at him, he shoved them into his mouth and chewed.

“See, it is safe to eat, so you can go ahead” he assured although he still had a cold stare on me, tried to pick up the Lobster, but he stopped me. “It is alright Chloe, I will help you with it”

I nodded in response and watched him peel out the Lobsters before inserting them into the white ceramic plate close to me, I went ahead to eat as he finally heaved a sigh of relief.

“You look so thin Chloe, we’re you deprived of food back at home?”

“No… I had been poisoned on several occasions and I got really scared of eating”

“What!! Who would do that to you?” He asked and although I knew the answer to his question, I could not answer as I lowered my head.

“Was it your mother, was she the one that tried to poison you, like she did the other day?” I nodded my head, holding back the tears that filled my eyes.

“I tried my best to see if she could give me just half of the love that she gives to my sister, but with me it never worked, she never failed to remind me that 1 was adopted and I wondered while she went ahead to adopt me if she despised me that much.”

“It is alright, it is all in the past, right here you own this place, this ring, and everything on it, no one can make you feel inferior, you are the Luna” He assured me, but all I could do was nod my head.

“I have some business that I need to finish outside the pack, but once I am back, I am going to introduce you to the council, everyone needs to know their Luna”

“Are you sure about this, don’t you think that it is a bit rushed considering that I am not prepared”

“You have nothing to worry about Chloe, I am right beside you, no one will ever think of bullying you” He went ahead to assure as he wiped off his mouth with the napkin right before him and was about to get on his feet.

“Go ahead and enjoy your meal, I will see you later at night”

“Can I come over to your chambers later at night?” My eyes glued to him while I stared at his expression, but it remained blank as usual.

“I am sorry Chloe, but I do not think that is a good idea” He replied softly.

“But you told me that I could come whenever Lwanted, was that just an attempt to make me take those drugs?” I complained and he grunted. “Fine Chloe, you can go ahead and come“.

A wide smile spread across my face as I watched him scurry away with his Camma behind. Right

from that night that I met him at the bar, I have been so drawn to him, more than I was with Noah, each time my eyes meet with his, my wolf yearns so badly for him.
