Amari's Point of View
Paris and I have successfully stacked the fridge. She wanted to help, so I washed her hands under the sink and showed her where to put the things. She spent more than ten minutes placing in the eggs, ever so jentle.
She then bothered me for more chicken and that was when we took a break and ate. The coffee was cold so I threw it in the bin and drank orange juice.
Having packed the cupboards and put away the empty bags; I told her to go for my phone.
Two miss calls from a strange number greet my eyes. Multiple messages comes in on Whatsapp from Brie.
I watched as Paris removes a juice from the snack bag. I haven't unpacked it as yet even though that was were Zendi got the Tea biscuit from. It's hard to even think straight. How can I have another man feeding Cals child?
But wasn't it thoughtful of Dominic to do so? Wouldn't I have judged him if he hadn't?
"Where is the juice you had earlier?"
She pouts and removed a swizzle," I don't like it anymore, I like this one," She said, folding her arms.
"Okay, take it. Did you bought clothes over?" I asked, lifting the snack bag and putting it on the next counter, in the corner to the sink.
I might as well keep them, but I need to talk to Dominic about this he can't just buy things just like that
"I have two clothes," She grunts dramatically removing the straw.
"You will not drink that until you are finish bathing."
I took up the letter from the middle counter and walked around it. I ushered her to the hall and to the room.
"Let me see the clothes that you have."
I called Zendi's number and waited.
"Ayo."
"Hum, Zendi, could you get some clothes for Paris? Please, I apologize for not telling you, I didn't remember."
"Oh shit. I already got the shoes for you, amma have to go back."
I could hear Aunty pet's voice in the background along with Brie's laughter. It's a amazing sound to hear. It's been a while.
"Damn, it's fine, just get the ones you have there. I'll wash -"
"Nah, hell nah, I got you. I will go and get them for you. Pray I see Cals over there."
"I don't need no trouble, Zendi."
"Don't worry bout it dear, mi will falla har go mi gyal, she nah put yuh ina mi more fiyah," Aunty pet said.
"A Caz Aunty pet wah claat off him head a dats why she wah go," Brie said, and I heard Zendi laughed.
"How's Katie?"
"Katie is sleeping."
"Aright, Zendi, get the clothes for me, get her toys as well. She will go from here to school, you can pick her up on Friday so she can see her father for the weekend."
"And my bike, mommy," Paris looks up at me. She places Her clothes and two books, with crayons, rubber and pencils on the bed.
"And her bike, being the rest of her books too, and her uniform just things you know she'll need."
"The uniform is dirty with Ice cream so Amma get two from your place."
"It's in her room. Thank you."
"Bye, check the message and remember to come and look for me," Brie called out.
I hang up, throw the phone down and took up the clothes, it's abvious she was the one who packed them: One going out yellow blouse, blue shorts, a pink dress and one clear slipper.
"So where is your underwear Paris?" I asked as searched the empty bag.
"My panty?"
I laughed out at her curious looks as she helped me to search the empty bag. She took it from me and shook it.
"I didn't bought any panty," She pouts.
"So you planned on wearing a naked ass?"
"I was excited, I didn't know."
"You didn't know that you should have packed a panty?"
"Yes, but I - " Tears enters her eyes and I pulled her head to me.
"It's fine, lemme go and bathe you. Bathroom, lead the way."
"So I will wear no panty?"
"Oh Goodness Lord, only if you keep your mouth shut," I took up the yellow blouse, short and slipper.
For the first, she will be going without underwear because I didn't planned on waiting until Zendi Returns.
"You will wear your school bag so it's not abvious. I should be scolding you right now," I gently shove her through the door.
"I promise I'll bring seven panties a next time. For the whole week," She jumps.
Ginger was fold up at the back of a sofa and she made an attempt to go after it.
"Leave her," I scold, I pointed towards the bathroom that's a little from the room. She scurried off.
A soft ringing could be heard coming from my room and I did a backstep.
The unknown number was calling again. I don't like answering unknown calls, it speaks my anxiety and unlocks my worst fear.
The phone rang out and my heart picks up speed.
What's if it's my mom?
Maybe she knows that I took a break from Cals. What else would she be calling about?
What if she had dropped down from blood pressure and the hospital is calling me from her emergency contacts?
I stand at the door entrance and answer the calling. I remained silent and waited.
"Prinicesspa?"
Dominic
My heart sped up in my chest and I hold it. Silently I walked to the bathroom, Paris was seated on the toilet and I handed her clothes and stepped back out.
"Hello?"
"I apologize for not asking you directly for the number."
I fold my hands and rolled my eyes,"Wow, Mr Romano's apology as now started. I started despising that word. Please make sure not to use it often."
Cals have said millions of sorries to me, it's always sorry after sorry.
"Wow, we are doing this? Okay since we are doing it. My apologies are earned, sincere and most definitely am not your man, Cara mia, am no where near Mr Renard. Now, let's get to business. Four men will be delivered at your place, two will be outside at the shop, the other two will causally be on the street, when night comes two will be on your verandah and the rest will go. I have a business meeting to attend to." Cara mia- (My dear)
Wow
My heart races as adrenaline comes in. Unsure of how to respond or how to act, my emotions betrayed me when I swallowed.
I don't want to cry
He sighed and said," Amari,"
His accent makes my name sounds so better and I feel foolish even thinking that. He's so mean when he wants to be. What more did I expect? He's right. We fucked but he's not my man. Maybe he sees me as just someone who he can fuck and then discard, isn't that the red flag I should be running from?
I should have known that he's a monster. I know that he's dark. He is a killer just like his brother is. He is a Mafia.
All mafia are killers
He's apart of drugs and all kinda things Amari
He can changed his emotion whenever he wants to
Why am I -
"Amari."
The tears begged to escape my eyes.
"It's fine, okay."
"Amari, I know I once said that I don't want to control you but if you don't answer me, then I might have to leave the meeting that I have and come to your house. This is very important to me, but so are you."
Remember seh a so Cals did a run yuh dung him get yuh and now what if a wah next one dis?
"Am not your woman, why would you come to my house?"
He chuckled and my emotions betrayed me. I grew sexually wet at his voice.
He is not Cals
"Amari, Am giving you time."
"I didn't ask for time, okay!" I snapped but remembered that Paris is a little further from me.
"You don't get to fuck me, then, full my house with food and disappear am not fucking cheap," I grit my teeth and said in the phone speaker.
Mi wish him did undastan how mi
blood a start up ino man
One slap mi woulda give him mek him face tun red
"You may be many things, but cheap you are not."
My voice came out low and dangerous, "Mr Romano."
"I bought you things because I felt it wise to do so, it's nothing and even if I haven't fucked you, I would still want to help. Let me help. Okay? You needed the house stocked and I did it. It's better than feeling like shit knowing that I fucked you and left you hungry."
Di audacity him have like seh mi did ago dead Fi food!
"Mi Neva did ago dead Fi food, mi have mi owna money and mi coulda call mi friend Dem di fuck yuh feel like white bwoy? caz yuh a fucking billionaire it look like?"
Deep breaths were heard on his line and the beeping of iron knocking together. They sounded like tiny stress balls.
"Take a deep breath and be calm. I don't quite understand what you are saying but based on the dialect that you are using; I understand that you might have passed my original limits of taking disrespect. Am not saying that your opinion doesn't matter. I would never invalidate you like that, but I don't see it nessacary for you to blow a fuse when I've already explained my reason for doing so. If it bothers you that much I can get a man to come and take them out, or you can just relax that beautiful face of yours and let peace reigns."
I hummed and took deep breaths and then I realized I was a little overreacting.
Not wanting to say Sorry I chose a soft voice instead," Mhm, oKay, but you said you are not my man so-"
"Am not yours because I have no intention of sharing. If so, then I suggest you leave that fucking asshole."
"Dominic."
A silence went over us and I hugged myself. I knew if it was with Cals, we would have been arguing some how Even though Dominic is angry, he listens.
I should stop comparing them
"I wish I was there to see your eyes when telling you this; two years ago we locked eyes in that hotel, you sealed a apart of me with your gaze. You looked at me in a such a way that I said this is it. You snatched me like no other Prinicesspa. I never thought I would see you again. Unfortunately, you have someone, someone that doesn't deserve you. I would be a fool if I watch you sit and ruined yourself for him. I'm here for you, but there are certain things I just can't do. One of them is; I can't share you, as much as I want to fuck you, I know now, I shouldn't."
I hang up the call with a heavyweight in my chest. My world felt empty and my mind ran restlessly. He said all I wanted to hear. How can I just leave Cals for a man that I barely know? Yet still it felt like our soul has bonded.
I checked Brie message and what I saw made my eyes widen. My stress for this life seems to overflow.
I placed the phone in my bedroom and head to the shower.
Half an hour later

Paris placed a pack of tissues on the trolley. She runs off ahead of me and came came back with hand towels.
She's such a jem. Just the sight of her warms my heart. If am having a bad day, just her laughter is enough to make my day lighter.
She's so curious and always ready to help and that's what she's been doing. She saw the foil paper and called me with a wave of her hand. She's so sensible.
I parked the trolley and removed the foil paper.
"How yuh memba foil paper and not yuh panty?" I asked, and laughed.
"Mommy, I don't want anyone to know," She smiles, sheeplessy pulling the school bag lower.
I doubled over in laughter.
"Come on."
"Mommy, popcorn?" She points. I nod my head at her and smile. I would do anything for my baby.
A young woman with her daughter; they look so much alike. She Took it down for her and I offered a smile, which she returns.
"Thank you," Paris said.
"Your welcome," The mother said.
We continued our walk and I checked to see: A dozen tissues, foil paper, popcorns, hand towels, bleach, disinfectant, air freshener, washing detergent, around six different types of body wash, bath soaps, two big toothpaste. Basically hygiene stuffs and things that is nessacary for the house. Am sure new tooth brushes are there but they'll be too big for Paris.
"Mommy? Remember that I want Babacue tonight."
"Barbeque," I correct her.
"Aunty Zendi let me tried Tacos and I loved it. Can you buy that on our way back?"
"You and Zendi a live life, of course, just remind me about it."
She nods her head and continues to skip walk.
After scrolling through aisles, am perfectly sure that I've passed twenty thousand dollars. It was a good thing that I bought my cards because I don't keep that much money on me, except the money Cals have given me to send Paris to school. I didn't bring that with me on the road. Thinking of him, I remembered that the whole week I was at Zendi's I never got a dime from him, I had to draw money from the bank.
Den mi did fool no rass
How was i so blind?
I didn't noticed
"Mommy?"
"Yes, baby?"Â I asked, walking down to the cashier.
"We haven't taken up jug water."
"Shoot, aright, gwaan, which part yuh see it ?"
She has a good memory of remembering things. I don't know how she didn't remember her underwear. Chuckling at my thoughts I followed behind her. I know she will be intelligent in the future.
She skipped and say excuses to people and I followed her to the aisle, grabbing a jar of coffee and Milo on the way.
Good thing mi did turn back
"See it deh mommy," Paris stopped and pointed. Her Jamaican accent are like Brie's and Katie. It's hilarious.
I removed a pack of wata wata that helds four together, struggling to put it underneath the trolley; I straightened my back for a moment before bending again. Paris grabs a box of chocolate mix and placed on top. She assisted a elderly with her trolley and came back to me, grinning from ear to ear.
As I turned to reverse the trolley my eyes caught the back of someone. The person stood with his back turn to the refrigerator at the fruit section. It feels as if I know him.
A who Dat?
Dominic
He turned and our eyes met across the room, multiple people passes us, blocking the way for a bit but our eyes still helds on. My heart races in my chest but just in time, a white woman in all white, walked up to him and gave him an apple.
She specs him on the cheek and rest her head on his shoulder!
She seems to have noticed his distance and turns to where his stare was.
The face of my manger greets my eyes !

Thoughts?- Well, it looks as if Dominic is married ðð
Also since Dominic is not much of a talker unless referring to business, am breaking his character a little for Amari's Sake. He talks a lot when it comes on to her. That's what am working on. Am building his character a little like myself-(Mi Nuh three like talk but mi talk so yeah if dat mek sense ) Iâm a blend of contradictions-soft yet unbreakable, logical yet unpredictable, reserved yet outspoken. My mind shifts between worlds, adapting but never conforming. Enough of that ð¤
What did Brie told Amari through text message?ð
Also mi soon give uno back Nico's POV ðð
