my heart stopped

I dropped the cigarette that was hanging out the corner of my mouth

I thought I was over you

or at least close

maybe I was wrong

the twentieth was

in ten days

ten days till I see you again

in a white dress

walking down the aisle

into someone else's arms

that night,

I let the tears fall

for the first time in

a year and a half
