Chapter 694: When I Go Mad, I Recognize No Relatives

“Are you feeding her that?! You’re forcing her to eat it!” Tong Sanlang stomped his feet in anxiety.

In his view, this was akin to assaulting an elder!

And this was no ordinary elder, this was his biological mother!

The audacity of such an action was simply outrageous!

Having thrown those three words at him, Qiao Xiaomai, her face covered in frost, turned to look at Zhang Family’s mother.

Earlier, she had stuffed the Truth Elixir into Zhang’s mouth. When Zhang tried to vomit, she forced Zhang to close her mouth, making her swallow the Truth Elixir.

Now, the Truth Elixir was in effect.

It appeared to Zhang as if the space in front of her was ripped open, everything distorted, a constant buzzing ringing in her ears. As a village woman, she had never experienced such a thing, and it left her in a panic, screaming, “Sanlang, Sanlang! Where are you?!”

Everything in view was warped, this feeling was akin to being blind, horrifying for her.

She couldn’t help but scream Tong Sanlang’s name.

Even at such a time, Tong Sanlang was indeed the one she trusted the most.

“Why are you screaming?! You still have the audacity to call Sanlang! Framing his wife for having improper relations with another man, is that how you play the mother?!” Qiao Xiaomai smirked.

Zhang grew even more panicked, “I, I’ve raised him since he was a little boy, I was doing it all for his good.”

“So, your idea of doing it all for his good is to continuously cause trouble for his wife? Always creating problems out of nowhere, making sure he can never live a day in peace?!”

“Enough with your stubbornness, you never saw him as a son! You simply used him as a tool, a tool that could earn you money and face!”

At her words, which felt like a wake-up call, or rather a sharp sword lunging towards Zhang.

Zhang panicked, frantically shouting, “I didn’t, I didn’t! Sanlang is my own child!”

“Since you consider him your own child, tell me who masterminded the baseless accusations against Qiao Zhaodi and Qiao Yindi today!” Qiao Xiaomai shot another question at her fiercely.

“Just as he was preparing to go to Prefecture City for the imperial examination, you messed everything up and disturbed his peace of mind! Did you do it on purpose? Were you trying to sabotage his chances of passing the examination?!”

The accusation was too bold, too heavy. Zhang was so anxious that tears welled up in her eyes, her face burning red, “It was the second daughter-in-law’s idea! It was her! It had nothing to do with me, why wouldn’t I hope for Sanlang to pass the exams?!”
