Chapter 519: 519: Hua Xiaofeng Battles the Sun Family

Sun Family was trying to escape in a carriage, but horses need time to ramp up to a full run, especially the frail, undersized horse belonging to Yingniang’s family. As Sun Family cracked the whip, the skinny horse began to move forward. Just as the horse started to run, Hua Xiaofeng charged out from Qiao Xiaomai’s house, broom in hand.

Sun Family was facing the doorway as Hua Xiaofeng lashed out with her broom, sweeping it towards her like one might swat at a fly.

Sun Family screamed and hurriedly ducked to the side.

She moved too far though, ending up sprawled on the ground with her head down.

Despite the carriage being low to the ground, the fall left her shrieking in pain as her head hit the ground.

Spooked by the commotion, the skinny horse whinnied and galloped away.

With nothing blocking her way, Hua Xiaofeng sneered, eyes flashing with malice. She hoisted up her broom to strike at Sun Family again, cursing, “You old witch! I’ll teach you a lesson!”

“This isn’t enough after the years you’ve tortured Luhe! Now you even dare to speak of betrothing Changsun to her again. I’ll beat the very life out of you, vile hag!”

“Despicable wretch! I will break your dirty mouth!”

The broom was tied with leafless bamboo strips. Any random swipe would hurt, let alone the one landing on Sun Family who lay on the ground being treated like a fly by Hua Xiaofeng.

Pain overwhelmed her. Sun Family protected her head with her hands, her body curling in, screaming, “Help! Help!”

“Help your arse! It’d be best if a shrew like you dropped dead! Then her in-law could remarry!” Hua Xiaofeng cursed venomously, her broom falling swift and heavy. “Every hit you landed on Luhe in these past years, I’ll return it to you today!”

Sun Family lay on the ground wailing, “Help! Help!”

Qiao Qinghe was initially sitting in the courtyard talking to Zhuang Jia and Qiao Xiaomai. When Hua Xiaofeng suddenly jumped up with her broom, he was taken aback. In that brief moment of surprise, Sun Family had already become defenseless under Hua Xiaofeng’s assault.

Qiao Qinghe’s face changed, and he immediately stood up, striding towards the doorway.

Zhuang Jia gasped and also got up.

Last time, he and Hua Xiaofeng came specifically to avenge Zhuang Lühe but failed to meet the person. His mother had regretted it for several days. Today, he happened to walk right into this and decided he cannot miss such a good show.

As he ran towards the door, he yelled, “Mother, hit harder! Best if you can hit Sun Family into leaving home!”

Watching this spectacle, Qiao Xiaomai curled her lips into a slight smirk.

What an interesting drama.

She stood up and also walked towards the door.

Outside, Sun Family’s silk dress was covered in dirt, her hair was disheveled and several bloody marks appeared on her hands and neck. She looked utterly disheveled.

However, she only appeared to be disheveled. She was protecting her head and there were no serious injuries on her body. She had been close to killing Zhuang Lühe several times, so Hua Xiaofeng was merely venting a little of her anger.

“You old vixen, I told you to hit Luhe! All the hits you gave her in the past, I’ll return to you tonight! I won’t leave Anping Village if I don’t beat you half to death today!”

Qiao Qinghe stood at the doorway, watching the spectacle with tightly knitted brows.

He didn’t say anything to stop it, just stood there.

Hua Xiaofeng was fighting for Zhuang Lühe. Sun Family deserved every bit of this beating.

Moreover, Sun Family insisted on betrothing Changsun to her, despite knowing that Qiao Xiaomai had already asked someone to find Zhuang Lühe. This was beyond excessive.

She deserved it!
