**********************************

The cold wind blew across the silent eerie dark night. It would have sent cold shivers to anyone but not her. She had grown custom to this kind of weather and the darkness. It did not affect her at all. She pulled her jacket's zipper up to her neck and tightened her hold on her sword as she walked through the terribly silent graveyard. Glancing down at her watch, she knew that it was almost time. She looked around for any human being and was glad that there was none. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of crickets singing through the night.

She took a deep breath as she came to a stop. She stood still in the middle of the graveyard, closing her eyes and listened for the signs.

The sound of the earth cracking filled the silent air. Slowly, the dead awoke from their sleep, grunting as they escape from their graves. She did not move. Her eyes were still closed. Her grip on the Excalibur tightened. Her heart picked up its speed but not due to fear.

She could sense them getting closer to her but she still refused to open her eyes just yet. A zombie came slowly behind her and as it reached out for her, her eyes shot wide open. In a flash, her sword slashed through the dead's neck, its blood spraying everywhere.

More restless deads made their way to her. She sprung to immediate action, swinging her sword as she stabbed and slashed their bodies brutally. Blood spurted out from their bodies as they groaned in pain, clawing and trying to grab her. Her sword went through them, the sound of flesh ripping could be heard in the air.

A grip on her arm made her adrenaline rush faster in her. Bringing her foot to the dead's face, it flew and landed its back to a hard tree. She stormed to it and her sword went through its eye, resulting to immediate death. She looked around and let out a relief sigh as she saw the number of the walking dead decreased. Her grip on Excalibur tightened as she turned to kill more of the undead.

One by one was killed, vanished into thin air until there's only one of them. She punched the undead before cutting his head off leaving it headless as its head rolled down to her feet. It slowly vanished to the thin air and she let out a sigh as she closed her eyes. She was done for the night.

"Opps...you missed one." She heard the familiar voice said. She turned and saw the man held the zombie up high, holding it by its neck before breaking it, its skin and flesh torn apart as blood gushed out of it. He threw the zombie to the floor as it vanished and left no sight of it.

The handsome man turned to her as he flashed a sheepish grin at her. She could only shake her head as she placed her hands on her hips and lifted her brows at him.

"You're late." She spoke.

The man shrugged his shoulders and gave her an innocent look. "Sorry. Traffic." He replied, his voice thick with a British accent.

She raised her eyebrows higher and gave him a serious look. The man was a vampire for god's sake. He was supremely fast and could reach anywhere in no time. Traffic wasn't a trouble for him. Besides, it was three o'clock in the morning. She was sure that the roads were almost empty.

He lifted up his hand and gave her an apologetic look. "Okay, okay. Maybe it's not traffic but I had a good reason!" He exclaimed.

"And this good reason is...you were having quality time with your mistress." She stated with a knowing look.

He gave her a shocking look as he placed his palm on his dead heart. "How could you think of me that way?" He gasped, faking hurt.

She stood there, not giving him any reply, still giving him the 'are you kidding me' look.

The beautiful man finally let out a defeated sigh and admitted. "Okay, okay...maybe I did get a little distracted...but it's not my fault she won't stop me from feeding off her." He spoke, giving her another sheepish grin.

She looked at the handsome man in front of her. He was tall, gifted with a build body that got every woman swooning. His hair was dark like ink. His face was pale but handsome, stunning face structure with a strong chin. His eyes were blue like the sea, letting women drown in them. This man in front of her was indeed gorgeous but she could never look at him in a way a lover would. He was just like a brother to her, a very close friend.

She let out a sigh as she observed him. No matter what he did, she could never be mad at him. "Fine." She said.

The man immediately lets out a relief sigh as he gave her a sweet smile. "Thank you, Elektra. I'll make it up to you." He said. She gave him a nod as he walked towards her and stopped right in front of her.

"You better be." She muttered and he chuckled in response.

He wiped the small drops of blood on her face with his sleeve before patting her head gently. "Well, even if I am not here, I knew you would do well." He noted.

Elektra rolled her eyes though her lips curled into a soft smile. "You know I need you, Henry." She said.

Henry smiled lovingly at her. She was a beautiful creature. Her lustrous dark brown hair, her beautiful brown eyes with golden flecks that would send men shaking, her tempting rosy lips, her earthshaking smile, she was definitely beautiful, breathtaking indeed. Men would come running to her and he would just have to chase them off like any kind of brother would. She was his little angel, his saviour. She needed him and of course, he would always be there for her. If it weren't for her, he would have died that day.

"I'll always be here for you, Ela." He whispered.

Elektra smiled softly in return as he caressed her cheek. They stayed in silence for a few seconds before Henry spoke. "Well, you better be off, little one. You still have a few more hours to sleep before you go to school."

Elektra grunted in agony. Henry chuckled as he saw her annoyed face. "Now, now. Don't make that face. You know you have to go to school." He pointed out, raising his eyebrows at her.

She let out a grunt once more as she lifted her eyes to meet his. "Ugh...I hate school." She muttered.

Henry chuckled once more, patting her head gently. "Well, at least, you could get away from those devils."

She let out a small smile but Henry could see the sadness in her eyes. How he wished to take those pain away. "Ela...if only you would agree to move in with me." He said.

Elektra shook her head and let out a small sigh. "You know I want to...but Darcy...I can't leave her...and the house...I just can't leave it." She said softly.

Henry gave her an apologetic look as he placed his hands on her shoulders. He understood her. Those imbeciles would never let her and her sister go. They would torture them and made sure they would never be happy. The house was another thing. It was her parents and they're filled with so many beautiful memories that she didn't have the heart to leave it.

"One day...I promise you, one day." He whispered.

Elektra didn't say anything in reply but he knew she heard him and understood. He hoped that she would trust him and kept on hoping.

"Off you go now. You don't want to be late." He said, breaking the silence between them.

Elektra groaned and Henry chuckled in response. They walked out of the graveyard and he walked her to her motorbike. Before Ela got on to her motorbike, Henry gave her a tight hug and a kiss on the forehead.

"Take care, Ela. I'll see you soon." He said.

Elektra wore her helmet, gave a nod to Henry before her motorbike roared to life, and sped down the road. On her way to her house, she hoped that she could get some good sleep. It had been a long night and she had to wake up early tomorrow. Plus, she had school in the morning. Ela let out a grunt thinking about school.

It was going to be a very long day.

******************

The sound of the alarm clock blaring through her ears made her groaned in annoyance. In a swift move, her hand hit the alarm clock, breaking them into pieces. Noticing that she had broken another alarm clock, she let out a grunt as she opened her eyes and sat up.

Now, she had to buy a new alarm clock. Great.

She lazily got out of her bed and made her way to the room next to hers. She slowly opened the door and got into the room. She smiled, looking at the beautiful little seven-year-old girl lying on the bed, sleeping soundly. She didn't want to wake her but she knew she had to.

"Darcy...wake up. You have to go to school today." She said softly.

The little girl with dark brown hair opened her eyes lazily. "Morning." She spoke, still sounded sleepy.

Elektra smiled and placed a kiss on her forehead before stroking her brown hair. "Go get ready for school, okay?"

"Okay." Darcy replied with a smile as she got off the bed. Elektra kissed her little sister's forehead once more and told her to meet her downstairs when she was done before she made her way back to her small room.

After a half an hour getting ready for school and trying her best not to fall asleep, she made her way downstairs and entered the kitchen, making breakfast for the family as always.

Breakfast was done as quickly as possible. She wanted to get out of the house fast. She didn't want to see those idiots because it would only make her angrier. Darcy came down minutes later and started eating her breakfast immediately. She knew how much her sister wanted to leave immediately. Darcy wanted the same too.

All was well until they heard the sound of their heels coming to the kitchen. Her body went rigidly tense as they entered the kitchen.

"Good morning dears." Her stepmother said.

She scoffed silently as she gave them a curt nod. Her stepmother looked at her and glared. She cursed silently as she forgot to greet her back. "Good morning, Georgina."

Georgina smirked and nodded her head. "That's better."

Elektra held back the urge to roll her eyes at her stepmother. Georgina was a monster disguised in a beautiful body and face. She was shorter than her, bigger in size though. Her face covered with thick make up to hide her non-beauty. Well, correct that. Maybe she was not as beautiful as it seems if it weren't for the makeup but she had the body to kill though.

Her two daughters were the same. They were the greatest nightmares for kids in schools. They were popular, bitchy, and heck annoying but kids in school would kiss their feet and hang out with them even though they're bloody mean.

Typical but true.

Reina was the eldest. She was tall, had a beautiful face and a body to die for. Her personality isn't as pretty as her face and her body though. She was a typical bitchy mean girl. Boys were all over her and girls dreamt and wished to be her friends. She gets everything she wants and will get people whoever gets in her way. Her posies were always around her, including her sister and she's considered as the queen of the school.

Riley was her twin, her little sister. She's the exact image of Reina except Riley was a red hair and Reina was blonde. Although, Riley is a little better than Reina. Correction. She is way better than Reina. She is nicer in a certain kind of way but still, it didn't mean she isn't mean. She's less talkative and less annoying. She's a little bit shy and less dramatic than her twin who's the biggest drama queen. She gets the same kind of attention as Reina, boys everywhere and girls following her like lost puppies. The twins always hung out together, bringing their wrath to unpopular kids and annoys the hell out of certain people. They were the typical mean girls. They rule the school.

Again, typical but true.

"God! We have to get to school now or we'll be late!" Reina announced dramatically. Riley only nodded as she stuffed eggs into her mouth.

Elektra once again held back the urge to roll her eyes. It was only morning and she was already annoyed. She went over to Darcy and took her school bag that was next to her chair.

"Come on, Darcy. We have to get going." She said softly as she took Darcy's hand and sprinted out of the kitchen.

"Ela!" She heard her stepmother called.

She let out a low grunt and turned head to the evil witch. "You have to work an extra hour today since you broke one of my plates." Georgina said with a smirk on her face and to add oil into the fire, Reina was smirking too.

Oh god, she internally groaned. The plate was an accident. It wasn't even her fault. She was cleaning them until a certain bitch came and hit her shoulder with hers.

"Yes, Georgina." She muttered before running off to her bicycle. It was a beautiful black vintage Velorbis bicycle. It was nothing fancy but it was one of her treasures. It was her mother's once and it's one of the things that she had that reminded her of her dear mother.

It was a good thing that school was not far away or she would be in real trouble. The evil witch took away everything, her father's money, their things, claiming it theirs. She had no money to buy a car and she couldn't use her father's special motorbike or they'll be curious and will take it away from her. She needed the motorbike for the night and she made sure that the bike was hidden safely.

As she got onto her bicycle with Darcy wrapping her arms around her waist, the twins appeared next to them on the road with their flashy car. They used dad's money to buy that car, the supposed to be her school money and the money for her and Darcy to buy it. Ela gritted her teeth in annoyance. Really? Could they not leave her alone?

"Hurry up, Ela or you're going to be late." Reina spoke before driving off laughing.

Her grip on the bicycle's handles tightened and her whole body went tense. If she could only stab them with Excalibur.

"Ely?"

Elektra turned her face to find her sister looking at her worriedly. Ela's body relaxed and her face softened as she gave Darcy as small smile. How she wished she could give Darcy happiness. She didn't care if she was unhappy and she was tortured. She wanted Darcy to be happy.

"Let's go, kiddo." She spoke as she pushed her bike and started cycling to school.

******************

She was late. It was the first day and she was already late. Just great.

She was running down the hallway with a schedule in her hand, making her way to her first class. She hoped that the teacher wouldn't be too mad at her. She already had so much to do and detention wasn't an option.

She opened the class door and wasn't surprised to find the teacher already in the classroom.

"Ms. Potter, you're late." Mrs. Langdon commented, staring at her with a stern look on her face. Mrs. Langdon was a nice forty-year-old woman. She's a good teacher, easy to understand and had a good sense of humour. Students loved her and Ela was glad she was her class teacher for this semester.

"Sorry." Ela muttered as she hung her head down.

Mrs. Langdon shook her head and let out a small sigh. The girl in front of her was as shy as mimosa pudica. She barely talked to anyone except a few people but she was a great kid.

"It's okay, Ela. Go ahead and take a seat." Mrs. Langdon said.

Ela sighed out of relief and gave Mrs. Langdon a nod, thanking her as she took an empty seat at the back, next to the window. She tied up her hair and adjusted her glasses as she stared in front, waiting for Mrs. Langdon to start her class.

The class' door opened, interrupting Mrs. Langdon just when she was about to start the class. The principal came into the classroom with someone unfamiliar next to him. Ela's breath hitched and her heart skipped when he saw the handsome man next to the principal.

He was handsome, truly handsome. He was a tall man with a gorgeous muscular body but not overly build, just perfect. His eyes were haunting. They were brown and they reminded her of autumn leaves. He had one of his eyebrow pierced, which just gave him the bad boy look, and his sinful lips were so tempting. A furious blush crept up Ela's face as she finally snapped and quickly looked down at her table.

Good god, the man was incredibly handsome but Ela knew better. With that face and that body, he was definitely a player but then again, she might be wrong. It was not in her nature to judge other people and she was sure not going to judge this gorgeous man in front of her. Although, one thing for sure was that she was never going to be near him.

The principal exchanged a few words with Mrs. Langdon before he finally left the room, leaving every students staring at the new kid. Ela could hear girls sighing dreamily and whispering. Ela didn't have to look to know one of those girl were her stepsisters. They were too darn obvious. She had to roll her eyes at their behaviour. Well, she can't blame them. The man was gorgeous.

"Okay class...I'm not going to make him introduce himself because I know how uncomfortable that is for him...so Blake, go ahead and take an empty seat so that I can start my lesson for today." Mrs. Langdon said.

There was an empty seat next to Ela and her heart hammered when he sat down on that seat. Ela made sure not to look at him. She was embarrassed enough to be staring at the handsome man. She didn't need him to find out about it and she certainly didn't need him in her life. Removing her focus off him, she adjusted her glasses as she looked in front and listened to Mrs. Langdon's lecture.

********************

Blake let out a grunt as he walked to his first class. He hated this. He didn't want to go to school nor transfer to a new one but no. His dad had to transfer because of business and he had to follow. His dad even dared to say that this was the best for him since he caused so much trouble in his past schools. Oh please, that man was rarely home and he said that he knew what best for him. Screw it.

The class' door opened and Blake entered the classroom. With a bored face, Blake turned to look at the students. He heard people whispering, mostly girls and he internally rolled his eyes. Not here too. He had enough of attention from girls especially. He just wanted to be alone.

His eyes saw some girls who were giving him flirty smiles and some guys who was just looking bored as he is but there was one person that caught his eyes. There was a girl sitting at the back, next to the window, looking down at her table with her face flushed. Was she blushing? He thought with a smirk on his face. Although, one thing came into his mind when he stared at her.

Beautiful.

She was incredibly beautiful.

Her long dark brown hair that looked so soft and it shone from the light of the sun. Her creamy cheeks lightly flushed, her jaw defined. She was wearing a worn out checkered button up t-shirt with a white inner shirt inside and it fit her perfectly. She has a long straight nose and lips the colour of roses. He couldn't see her eyes though as she was looking down. He badly wished he could see them. He needed to.

Oh no. Blake internally shook his head as he snapped out of his heated gaze at her. He didn't want to get involved here with anyone. He just wanted to be alone. He didn't want people to be friends with him just because they knew who he was. He hated it.

He heard the teacher asked him to take a seat and he was glad that she didn't ask him to introduce himself. That would be awful. There were only two empty seats. One next to a jock who was drooling in his sleep and the other one was next to the gorgeous girl.

Gorgeous girl it is, he thought as he made his way to his seat. He sat down and glanced at her. The girl still didn't lift her head to look at him. He thought whether she was being shy or she just didn't care. Blake secretly smiled at that. She was the first person here that didn't give him much attention and he was glad. However, he wished for her to look at him so he could see her eyes. The teacher started talking and he reluctantly moved his gaze to the teacher as she started her lesson.

Blake decided he wouldn't get involved with her. Well, not too much anyway, he thought with a small smile on his face.
