Picture of Elektra at the side :)

***************************************

"Run!" She yelled this time as they both made for the run.

A loud growl escaped the Berserker's mouth as its pace quickened, running to capture them. Elektra ran faster in response, fear fastened the beat of her heart. Due to the Berserker's low agility, she knew running would a safe move.

She never had come across the Berserker before and she was afraid. She didn't know what to do and how to stop it. She remembered her father's stories about the Berserker. How only a few Protector ever came across it and only numbers of them were able to defeat it. He also told her how the monster would destroy everything that was in the way of its target. How it would attack viciously with no mercy and how it would not stop until its target is eliminated.

Henry stopped abruptly when he realized Elektra was no longer next to him and had stopped running. Her body was faced to the beast. Her sword was in her hands, gripped tightly as she stood en garde.

"Ela!" He shouted for her to run but she didn't move.

Running back to her, he grabbed her hand and started to pull her out of the danger but only to find her pulling away.

He looked at her with bewilderment. "What are you doing? We have to run!" He desperately spoke, eyeing the monster that was coming in their way.

Elektra shook her head at him. "The Berserker wouldn't stop until its target is eliminated. People will get hurt." She said. Her voice shook as she turned to him. "I am the target. Since it won't stop until it gets me, I have to eliminate it."

"You're mad!" He shouted.

"I'm not. Now, leave! Get out of here!" She yelled back, eyeing the monster that was getting closer to them.

"I'm not going anywhere without you."

"Run, Henry! I'm the target, not you!" She shoved him away but he still stood there next to her.

"I don't give a damn and I won't leave without you." He spoke with seriousness in his tone.

"You idiot! This is not the time-"

"Look out!"

Henry screamed as the Berserker swung its axe down, attempting to chop her. Elektra pushed her feet off the ground as she rolled away from the attack.

The beast ignored Henry who was a few feet away from it and turned as it made its way to Elektra.

She held up her sword above her head as the axe came down to her. She gritted her teeth as she struggled to keep the axe away from her since the Berserker was inhumanly strong. She jumped away, pulling her sword away as well, as the axe hit the ground.

She panted before letting out a cry of war as she ran to the Berserker. She leaped and swung her blade. She felt joy when she managed to leave a long cut on the Berserker's arm. The joy left her when the Berserker's hand hit her like a truck.

"Ela!" She heard Henry yell. She flew and fell to the ground.

Rolling to her sword as she picked it up, she blocked the Berserker's incoming attack. The monster bounded his axe repeatedly and Elektra did her best to block it.

Unfortunately, the beast strength was too much to handle. The Berserker hit her blade again and the sword fell onto the ground. Still in shock, she didn't have time to move away as the Berserker swung its axe.

She yelled out in pain as the blade left a long and deep horizontal cut on her stomach. Clutching the wound, she lifted her head to find a gigantic hand making its way to her face. The punch sent her flying a few feet from the monster.

Her body hit the ground, the friction made her body blistered and her wardrobe ripped. She felt pain on her left cheek and tasted copper in her mouth, telling her that she might have fractured her cheekbone and her mouth was bloodied. Coughing out blood and covering her wound with her hand, she stood up struggling.

She saw Henry trying to hold it back. He threw a few punches and kicks, which led the monster to growl, only before the beast sent him flying a few yards with a punch in the stomach. She screamed his name as his back hit the tree. His head hit the tree trunk harshly before his body slumped to the ground. Elektra called for him and relief filled her when he groaned.

A loud roar returned her attention to the beast. The beast was making its way to her with those angry red eyes and she felt herself panicking. Her sword was far away from her and she had no weapon. Then, she remembered that she had a gun. Taking it from the holster, she pulled the trigger and fired.

The Berserker roared in pain as a bullet hit his arm. Contentment filled her. Fear rose in her again as it growled loudly and marched angrily toward her. In panic, she pulled the trigger and released a shot continuously. She missed quite a few but there were bullets that hit the beast's stomach, its left arm and shoulder.

However, the beast only growled and stopped for a little while before marching towards her again. She pulled the trigger again but no bullets came out and she realized she was out of it.

A cry of pain left her mouth when the beast's axe met her torso, leaving a long bloodied cut before he sent her a few yards away. She dropped to the ground, her eyes blurring with tears due to the pain. She rolled aside as much as she could, far away from the beast before it started attacking her again.

"Ela!" She heard Henry shout.

She lifted her head to find her sword coming towards her. She grabbed it out from the air and used it to help her standing.

She looked back to the monster to find Henry holding back the beast. His arm was around its neck while his other hand was holding its hand with the axe. Worried filled her when she saw that Henry's head was bleeding due to the impact from the throw and she could see him struggling to hold him back.

"No!" She yelled out when the beast's elbow met Henry's stomach, making him release his arm around him. The beast didn't give Henry time as it threw its fist to his jaw. Henry grunted as the punch sent him flying before hitting his back on the tree trunk. Henry groaned as he slumped to the ground.

Elektra gritted her teeth in agony. She tried her hardest not to think about the pain as she walked further away from the beast and nearer to Henry.

Sensing her movement, the Berserker turned towards her and marched to her way. She cursed in despair. Taking in her breath as she closed her eyes, she begged her brain to think, to think of how she could defeat the monster. She remembered her father telling her that the best way to kill a monster was to pierce its heart.

Her eyes grew wide opened as an idea invaded her. She fastened her pace to Henry, who was standing up, and threw her sword at him.

The sword fell onto the ground in front of his face and he lifted his head to look at her.

"Use your telekinesis to sink the sword into his chest!" She yelled. "I'll distract him. I'll tell you when to do it, alright?"

Nodding, Henry gave her a thumb up in return. "Okay."

Turning her attention back to the Berserker who was getting closer to her, she locked her feet onto the ground. The Berserker swung its blade but she managed to avoid it. Bringing her fist in the air, she punched its wounded arm.

The beast howled in pain. She sent her fist flying to its face and it groaned in agony. Feeling a lot better, she punched its wounded stomach which made it growl in anger. She tried to punch it again but this time, the Berserker caught her hand. Terrified, she lifted her head to find the monster glaring at her with those red eyes. Before she could stop it, it swung its axe down, sinking it into her shoulder.

A loud cry of pain escaped her mouth. She sobbed and her knees went weaker. Immediately, she grabbed the axe to hold it back from her shoulder but the Berserker was stronger. The blade managed to go even deeper, making her drop onto her knees before the monster pulled the axe away.

She closed her eyes, accepting the fact that she was dying and prepared herself for the Berserker's attack. However, she felt nothing. Opening her eyes, she was in surprise to find the Berserker thrown back away from her, before hitting the ground.

Lying on the ground with indescribable pain, she managed to scream out to Henry. "Now Henry!"

She turned her head towards the Berserker and saw her sword sunk into its chest before the monster could do anything. A loud roar escaped its mouth, making the forest shook and sending chills down to her bones. The beast whimpered and for a second, she felt pity for the berserker. It only did what it was told to do and the human in it didn't have any control on its body. It was not at fault.

She saw life leaving the berserker's eyes as it dropped onto its knees and fell onto the ground.

It's over.

Her body tensed once more when she felt someone was watching her. Turning her head to the other side, her eyes searched the field and stopped when she saw a figure wearing a black cloak at the end of the field, near the forest. She could not really see what the person looked like since her eyes were getting blurry.

The figure looked at her, her head covered with a hood, before entering the forest. Before she left, the wind picked up its speed and the hood of the person's cloak dropped. All Elektra could see was the long, unique golden hair that belonged to the figure before her vision went black.

**************

Pain.

That was the first thing that popped into her mind when she woke up. Her body ached everywhere. It was like she had been hit by a truck. Well, she fought the Berserker. It was equivalent to the truck anyway.

Slowly opening her eyes, her eyebrows furrowed when the light invaded her sight. She carefully turned her head to find an IV attached to her wrist. She mentally flinched thinking that she must really hurt to need an IV.

Looking down at her body, she saw that she was wearing nothing except a grey sweatpants. Her stomach was wrapped with a bandage and so was her shoulder. Her heartbeat picked up its speed when the scene of the Berserker sinking its axe into her shoulder played in her mind.

She could remember her scream, the pain, and most definitely, her fear. She shivered before she told herself to snap out of it. Fighting the Berserker was one of the most terrifying thing she'd ever go through and how she wished she would never go through it again.

Cursing inwardly and scolding herself to not think about the horrid event, she started to let her eyes scan around the familiar room and realization hit her that she was in the lair.

"Ela." She heard the familiar voice calling her.

She lifted her eyes to find Henry with a relieved face and worry in his eyes. She gave him a weak smile while he sat down on the stool next to her bed with a glass of water in his hand. He helped her up before lifting the glass to her lips. When the glass was empty, Henry put the glass aside while Elektra took in his figure.

His head wasn't bleeding anymore and there were no bandages on him which made glad to know that he wasn't hurt badly.

Henry took one of her hands in his while his arm rested above her head. He gave her a soft smile but Elektra could see how his eyes shone with worry and adoration.

"How are you?" He spoke softly.

"Great. I feel like I can do a bungee jump."

Henry let out a chuckle while his hand above her head started to stroke her hair. "There you go again with the sarcasm."

She smiled weakly at him as they both fell into silence. She glanced at the hand that was holding hers tightly before lifting her eyes to meet his grief stricken blue eyes.

"You have no idea how worried I was when I saw you fight that monster." Henry breathed out. "I never felt so helpless." His jaw tensed and his lips clamped together before he spoke again. "And when I saw you on the ground not moving, badly wounded and covered in blood, I felt like there's a dagger in my chest."

Hearing his shaky voice and those words made her heart sunk. She never wanted him to feel this way. That was why at first she worked alone. She did not want to get attached to anyone because at the end, she will only make them worried and sad. She did not need anyone. She was fine on her own.

However, ever since she saved Henry from the burning house in the forest, he did not leave her side and continued bugging her. Slowly, they became very good friends and she trusted him with her life. They created a bond between them that was very hard to break. She loved him dearly and he loved her too. He had become a brother that she never had.

Lifting her hand, she cupped his cheek and caressed his stubble jaw with her thumb. Henry must have seen the worried and caring look in her eyes, which made his face soften.

He let out a sigh, his eyes wandered to her bandaged wounds before meeting her sunset eyes again. "You know, sometimes I wish you weren't the Protector. You wouldn't be wounded like this." He confessed.

"But then I wouldn't have met you." She smiled.

His lips turned into a soft smile before he placed a kiss on her forehead.

When he pulled back, he smiled again, looking at the wonderful woman in front of him. Even if she was wounded badly, she still looked amazingly beautiful. She tried to sit up by herself but stopped due to the immense pain. Henry noticed and he wrapped his arm around her waist as he helped her up.

"How long was I out?" She asked, breaking the silence.

She saw the reluctant look on his face before he blurted his answer out. "Two days."

Her eyes grew wide and she looked at him stupefied. "What?!" She shouted.

Henry cringed before patting her head gently. "Now, calm down my dear-"

"How am I suppose to calm down?! I've been out for two days!" She stated.

Henry held his hands up in surrender. "I know...but everything's under control."

Her eyebrow cocked in confusion. Henry gave her a nod before explaining to her. "There was a woman, she came to your house and told your stepmom that she was your long lost cousin. She said that she was taking you away for a while to spend some time together. She also told your school as a matter of fact."

Elektra frowned in confusion. Someone was covering for her. Who could it be? "I didn't see her face since I was upstairs playing with Darcy."

Her mind went to panic mode when she remembered her little sister. "Darcy, how is she? Is she fine?" She fired at him.

Henry gave her a small smile before patting her head. "Wait here a sec." He said before disappearing.

"It's not like I can go anywhere." She sighed.

Henry returned seconds later with Darcy at his side. Elektra's eyes grew wide in panic as she looked at Henry.

Sensing her panic, Henry explained to her. "She knows, Ela. I told her." He said with an apologetic smile as they made their way to her. "She was crying when she couldn't find you. She thought you had left her."

Elektra stared at Darcy who was staring at the ground, her hand held in Henrys. She could imagine how Darcy was when she could not find her. She was the only one left for her. She was her family.

Bending down her body despite the pain, she engulfed her little sister in a tight hug. Stroking her honey coloured hair, she kissed the top of her head.

"I can never leave you, Darcy." She whispered.

She felt her little arms tightened around her. Smiling, she rubbed her back comfortably. "I'll always be here." She said before pulling away.

Darcy stared at her before her eyes focused to the bandages on her body. She shyly trailed her fingers on them.

"Does it hurt?" Darcy asked, lifting her eyes at her.

"A lot." Elektra answered with chuckle. "But I'm all better now that you're here."

Darcy smiled before hugging her sister again. "Is it true what Henry told me? That you fight monsters?"

"Pretty much." She answered.

"And Henry is a vampire?"

"Yes, he's a vampire. A good one." She said lifting her head to him and he responded her with a smile.

"Cool! Henry, could you climb trees like Edward in Twilight?" She excitedly asked.

Henry chuckled as he patted her head. "I can...though I do not sparkle."

***************************

"Ela, you're back." Blake exclaimed as he ran to her before sweeping her into a tight hug.

Elektra mentally flinched due to her wounds, which almost healed due to Henry's blood. It was the second hug she received today, though Chelsea's hug was even more painful than his was. However, she soon relaxed in his arms and hugged him back.

"How are you?" He asked as he pulled away, searching her eyes. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. A little tired but fine." She smiled.

After four days of staying at the lair, she finally was able to get up and returned to her normal life. When she returned to the house, let just say that Georgina was super glad that she was back due to the undone chores in the house. She also told her that she could go to the charity ball, which made her frown and asked Georgina again and again if it was really alright and that she wasn't sick.

"Are you sure you're not sick, Georgina?" She asked.

"No, I'm fine."

"I mean really, do you have a fever?"

Georgina finally snapped as she sighed and gave her a stern look. "One more question from you, I'd take back what I said." She told and that finally shut Elektra up.

Leaving her flashback, she looked at the man in front of him, who was looking at her with concern. She could tell he could see that she was tired. She was glad that the hoodie she was wearing covered her wound up because if he saw them, she wouldn't be able to answer them.

"How are you? And what did you do to Georgina to make her say yes on me going to the ball?" She asked.

Placing his arm around her shoulder, they started to walk to their Literature class. "I'm okay. Better now you're here." He said with a seductive smile before his smile dropped as his eyes gazed over scar above her forehead. "What happened? How did you get that?" He asked worriedly, his finger lightly touching it.

Ela chuckled and pinched his cheek. "Such a charmer." She said sarcastically, trying to lighten the mood. "Nothing. I fell. I'm alright, so don't look so worried. Anyway... what did you do? Please don't tell me you did something stupid."

"I didn't. I just gave her a few tickets to my mom's fashion show in New York." He shrugged.

Elektra stopped walking as she reached her table before facing him with a stunned look on her face. "Please tell me you didn't just say that."

"What?" He asked innocently.

"Blake..." She sighed. "You didn't have to go that far for me."

"I wanted to. Besides, it wasn't much of a problem." He smiled. "Now, stop with that guilty-looking and worried face. It was not a problem. I promise." He added, squeezing her shoulder lightly.

"Thank you." She said before hugging him briefly. How she wished she could hug him longer but the bell had rung and class was almost starting.

They both took their seats and Elektra asked him about what had happened these past few days. They stopped talking when they heard the door slammed open and whispers fill the air.

She turned her head and her body tensed as a gasp left her mouth. Walking into the room, was a tall woman wearing a white button-up shirt and a grey pencil skirt covering her great body. Elektra's eyes went up to her heart shaped face and saw the green mossy eyes the woman had. However, what caught Elektra's attention the most was her long, unique golden hair. That same coloured hair that she saw in the forest before she blacked out.

Elektra's eyes met hers once more and she felt her body going tense again, when the woman's lips twitched up into a smirk.

"Hello, class. My name is Angela Colin and I'll be taking over this class from now on."
