I love you, buddy. I still do and always will.

"Ela, are you okay?" Daniel, her co-worker asked with concern etched on his face.
Smiling at him, Ela patted Kate's head before leaving her to play with Ryan and made her way to Daniel.
"I'm fine. A little tired though but I'm okay." She answered him.
It had been a week since the night of the zombies appearing with weapons. Her wounds from the battle were healed but only to be replaced with new ones. They managed to get only one shallow cut on her side this time, which was fortunate for her.
Last night had been another blood bath for her. The zombies were aggressive and armed. There were a few that rose from their graves and a few from the forest behind the graveyard. She fought them, killed them mercilessly.
She was sick and angry at these zombies and who were they working for. However, their numbers were lesser than the first night they had appeared like this. It brought her to wonder curiously about it. It left her awake most nights now, which explains her lack of sleep. She'd been going through her father's notes and files, trying to find anything that could relate to this weird occurrence that has been happening.
She and Henry went to the forest last night after slaying the zombies but they were left disappointed as they didn't find anything in particular.
She also had been searching information about Vlad. She searched for him after killing the zombies, trying to track him and find him. Unfortunately, she didn't find anything. Henry had asked around and he only found out what they had already known and small information about his being and all, which didn't really much with the things going on.
She gritted her teeth and took in a deep breath as she felt the soreness in her muscles. Daniel saw her change, worry appeared in his eyes and she gave him a tight smile in return.
"I'm fine, really." She told.
Daniel gave her a slow nod, not really believing her but dropped the topic.
"So..."Daniel drawled out. Elektra could sense nervousness in his voice and it made her wonder.
Daniel cleared his throat awkwardly before he spoke to her shyly. "So...there's this new restaurant in town..." He nervously rubbed the back of his neck before continuing. "...and I was wandering if you would...you know...go out with me?" He sheepishly grinned.
Nodding, she answered him, "Sure, why not. I'd love to go to the restaurant with you."
Daniel shook his head and let out a nervous breath. "No...I meant would you like to go out with me...as in...a date."
Her eyes grew wide in realization. "Oh." She muttered as she awkwardly adjusted her glasses.
Silence fell between them. She had never expected Daniel to ask her out on a date. She never even thought that he would like her in that kind of way. She saw him no more than as a friend. Shyly looking up, she saw his face etched with pure nervousness.
She didn't really want to reject him because she knew how it would upset him. However, if she went out with him, it wouldn't be fair to him since she was in love with someone else.
Bringing up her courage, she asked him, "Do you...like me?"
"I really like you." He replied with a shy smile.
Thinking about it, she didn't really want to break his heart but it wouldn't be fair for him. She didn't want to lead him on and give him the wrong idea. She cared for him, but not in the way he wanted to.
"Umm...I'm flattered really..." She nervously said. Oh god, how was she going to break it down to him?
She lifted her head when she heard him let out a sigh.
"It's a no huh?" He smiled weakly.
Ela gave him an apologetic smile as she shook her head. "Yeah...but thank you though. It made me happy." She answered.
Daniel chuckled in return. "What? No 'I'm sorry' thing?"
Chuckling, she shook her head. "No, because I'm not really sorry about it." She answered.
Daniel frowned in confusion but stayed silent. She took it as a queue to continue. "You're a great guy, Dan. You're sweet and nice..."
"Don't forget handsome." He chimed in with a smirk on his face.
She rolled her eyes at his comment before continuing. "The point is...that I'm not the one for you." She said with a soft smile. "I don't want to lead you on and give you false hope. That's not fair...and I'm sure she's somewhere out there waiting for you."
Daniel looked at her with a smile on his face, a smile that tells her that he knew what she said was the truth.
"It's Blake for you, isn't it?" He asked.
Elektra's face turned bright red as she shyly laid her eyes on the floor. "Is it that obvious?" She asked.
Daniel chuckled in return. "You're different when you're with him...You're happier." He pointed out with a smile.
Elektra could only smile in response before she went to him and gave him a warm hug.
"We're still friends right?" Daniel asked.
Breaking herself from the hug, she lifted her head and answered him, "Of course."
"Elektra." Someone interrupted. They both turned to find a very unhappy looking Blake standing in front of them.
"Oh, hey." Elektra chimed. He had called her, her full name, which she realized that he only did that when he was unhappy at her.
"You're here to pick Kate up?" She asked.
He gave her a nod in reply. "Yeah...and you too."
Nodding, she replied him, "Okay...I'll just go take my stuff."
She went to her locker with Daniel beside her. Grabbing her bag, she closed the locker door and turned to Daniel.
"Sorry, I have to leave early." She apologized.
Daniel shook his head at her in response. "It's fine. Besides, I don't think you could argue with that." He said, referring to Blake with his pissed off mood.
"Yeah." She gave him an apologetic smile. "I don't know what happened."
"Oh, I do." He replied.
Elektra frowned in confusion. "Hmm?"
"He's a very possessive guy." Daniel stated which got her more confused.
Daniel could only laugh at her cuteness. The girl was clueless. "You'll figure it out." He hinted. "You should go. Don't want to keep him waiting."
Elektra nodded and gave him a hug before she leaves. "Sorry for leaving early again and thanks."
"Don't worry about it. I'll cover for you for those evil crows." He smiled.
He could hear her melodious laughter as she walked out of the daycare.
**********************
"Is this alright?" Blake asked as he handed her his paper.
She read his work and a smile appeared on her face when she was done. "This is great, Blake. It's really good." She said, turning to him.
Blake smiled happily and threw his fists up in the air. "Yes!"
After they left the daycare, Blake took her and his sister to dinner at their favourite pizza's place. Elektra was glad when she noticed that he was in a better mood. They talked like they always do and laughed here and there but she could see the troubled look in his eyes. Something was wrong but he didn't say anything and Elektra did not want to push him.
They went to his house right after dinner. Kate went to her room and Blake took Elektra to his room to complete their history project. They had made great progress and Elektra was happy to say that their work was almost done.
Elektra chuckled at his enthusiasm. "For a student who's horrible in history, this is really good." She added.
Blake frowned at her. "I'm not that horrible at it."
She rolled her eyes at his statement. "Oh, yes you are."
Blake lunged at her and started tickling her. They fell onto to the bed, with Elektra laughing uncontrollably.
"S-Stop!" She laughed.
He continued to tickle her with a smirk on his face. "Say you're sorry."
Elektra shook her head and Blake tickled her more in response.
She yelped and laughed loudly, wrapping her arms around her stomach. His fingers tickling her sensitive spots on her side.
"O-Okay! Okay! I'm sorry." She giggled.
Blake stopped and chuckled at her. Elektra's laughter died down as she stared into those gorgeous brown eyes. Her cheeks flushed when she realized that he was on top of her. His legs were positioned in the middle of her separated legs and each of his arms were pinned beside her head.
Not taking his eyes off her, he slowly took off her glasses and safely placed it on the nightstand. Their eyes glued to each other, not one of them moved or wished to be anywhere else. She couldn't help but to notice the unsettled and troubled look in his eyes and it made her worried.
"What's wrong?" She asked as she brought one of her hand to cup his cheek.
Giving her a weak smile, he leaned forward and kissed her forehead gently.
"Nothing." He replied before resting his forehead on hers.
She frowned in return as she kept on caressing his cheek with her thumb, hoping somehow it could bring him comfort.
"I promised you that you can always talk to me about anything that's bothering you...and that promise hasn't expire or broken." She informed as she stared into his pained eyes.
His hand shot up to held the side of her face and he looked at her affectionately with a soft smile on his face.
"You're wonderful." He commented.
Elektra frowned but her lips twitched up in a smirk. "And you're something else, prince charming."
Blake chuckled before letting out a long sigh. Lifting his forehead from hers, he buried his face in the crook of her neck. His body slumped over hers but he somehow managed not to crush her.
Her fingers started to stroke his raven hair, soothing him and making him close his eyes automatically while he breathed in her calming scent as they both lay in silence.
"You're worrying me, Blake." She whispered.
A gasp left her mouth when she felt his lips on her neck. The sensation of his lips kissing the tender spot made her inside burn. Her heart pounded hard and loud that she was sure he could hear it. It was the first time he did this and she wondered what triggered him to do so but not that she was complaining. It left her strangely wanting for more.
She was about to say something to him but stopped when she heard him sigh in despair.
"I had a fight with my father again." He muttered in her neck while his thumb caressed her side.
Elektra didn't say anything as she continued to stroke his hair. Blake smiled as he received the unspoken message from her.
"I told him that I don't want to continue and follow his footsteps...He got angry. He told me how important this was and how that I was his son and that I should continue and take over." He said solemnly.
"He called me a disappointment." He added after a short pause.
Her heart breaks hearing his words. Which child wanted to hear their parents called them a disappointment? None. Despite Blake's strong dislike to his father, she knew that he loved him and he was still that little child hoping and wishing for his father's love.
Turning her head, she leaned forward and placed a lingering kiss on his forehead as she kept on stroking his dark hair. "You're not a failure. You never were. And if no one has ever told you this, let me be the first to tell you that I'm so darn proud of you. You're sweet, you're kind, and you're amazing. Never a failure...and I love you so much."
She knew she had said three words to him but she knew he would never take it more than a friendly way.
She felt him tense for a second, which she didn't know why before he relaxed again. She could feel him smile against her neck and it brought her to smile too.
"I love you too...and thank you." He said as he rolled to her side and wrapped her arm around her waist, bringing her closer to him.
Elektra was still in shock, her heart pounding in her ears when she heard him say those three words to her but reality checked into her again when she knew he meant it in a friendly way. Nevertheless, it brought her happiness to hear them coming from his sinful lips.
Maybe he might not love her like the way she wanted him to, but loving her just as a friend was enough for now. There was nothing more she could ask for than Blake to be by her side.
**********************
Blake smiled as she snuggled closer into him. He stroked her soft silky hair, tangling them in his fingers.
How surprised he was when she told him she loved him. He froze and he could feel his heart skipped a beat when he heard her say those three words. However, he knew she meant it in a friendly way. He was disappointed but he was fine with it.
He replied her, saying those three words as much as he meant it but he knew she would take it differently. Despite that, he was still happy to have her with him.
He felt his heart warmed at the thought of him kissing her delicate neck. He didn't mean to do it. It was a huge temptation for him when was burying his face in her neck. Her vanilla scent was drugging him, making him involuntarily kiss her neck.
He was glad she didn't say anything about it. He didn't know what to tell her if she asked. He couldn't tell her that he loves her. Not just yet. He admits that he's afraid of rejection and he didn't want her to push him away. He didn't want to ruin their friendship as it was the most important thing to him. Even though, he somehow could see that she loves him as well, he just couldn't tell her yet.
Just not yet.
He looked down and saw her looking up at him with a small smile on her face.
"What are you thinking about?" She asked.
He smiled at her before getting off the bed. She looked at him, confused. Blake took her glasses and placed it on her before grabbing her hand, pulling her off from the bed.
"Come on. There's something I want to show you." He said.
They walked out of his room, down the hallway and came at a stop in front of a room at the end of the corridor.
His heart started to pick up its speed. He had never shown this to anyone and he was finally going to show it to her.
He turned the doorknob and they entered the room. When he switched on the lights, he could hear a gasp escape from her mouth. He turned to her and saw the surprised and awed look on her face.
He smiled when she started to walk to one of his favourite painting that he did that was hung up on the wall. It was a painting of the garden. She gently laid her hand on it and smiled. At that moment, Blake couldn't feel any happier.
"Did you paint this?" She asked, hesitatingly.
Blake raised an eyebrow at her. "No, the ghost haunting this room did." He replied sarcastically.
"Well, the ghost sure has talent." She answered.
Blake rolled his eyes at her and they both chuckled. She turned her head back to the painting, drinking in the details of it.
"This is amazing, Blake." She whispered. "Just wow." She complemented as she turned to him. "You're amazing." She declared.
He didn't expect such a reaction from her. His face went slightly red from the compliment.
"It's not that much." He replied awkwardly.
Elektra smiled at him. "Trust me, this is really amazing. You're freaking talented."
Blake lightly shrugged at her with a bright face and she laughed in return. She started walking around the room, looking at his artwork. Every painting and drawing that she came across, she would look at it in awe as if it was the most amazing thing she had ever seen. She would compliment on him and asked him how he did it and he would blush and tell her about the artwork.
They came to a stop in front of a wooden table. There were pencils and papers scattered over it. On top of the paper, there was a closed black sketchbook.
"Can I look at that?" She asked him pleadingly.
Blake couldn't argue with her adorableness and nodded in reply. "Only till a certain page."
She beamed with happiness as she took the sketchbook in her hands and gently opening it.
While she was flipping through the pages, Blake watched every reaction on her face. She saw amazement, happiness and even pride in her eyes that made his heart swelled in happiness. He knew it was the right thing to do to show her this side of him, his passion other than her.
"Gosh...Blake, this is so amazing..." She said as she turned the pages.
Blake's heart started to pick up its beat as she was going to flip the page that he didn't want her to see. He quickly took the sketchbook from her, which left her mouth opened, as she looked very astounded.
"Blake, let me see that." She ordered.
Blake shook his head, blushing slightly. "Nope...only till a certain page, remember?" He answered as he held the book up in the air so she wouldn't able to take it.
"Come on...what could be so bad that you don't want me to see?" She teased as she tried to grab the book from him.
He was left in shock when she jumped swiftly in the air and managed to snatch the book from him. He looked at her in awe. How could she jump like that? He was more than 180 centimetres while she was 161 centimetres tall. Besides, he held it up above his head. No one at her height could jump like that.
He brought back his attention to her when he heard a gasp escape her mouth and the surprised look on her face.
He knew she saw it.
His drawings of her.
"This is me..." She voiced out as she looked at the drawings in awe and continued turning the page.
There a few pages of drawings of her that he did. Whenever he couldn't sleep or when he thought of her, he would always draw her as it brought him to peace and happiness.
She stopped at the page where he drew her with no glasses, just those sunset eyes staring into space with a soft smile on her face. It was his favourite among the other drawings of hers.
She lifted her face from the sketchbook and looked at him. He could feel himself getting warmer, his heart beating rapidly as his face turned bright red. He nervously looked away, rubbing the back of his neck.
He heard her giggle and before he could turn to her, he felt her arms around his torso as she rested her head on his chest.
"You're too amazing." She said softly.
Blake smiled and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm just your ordinary prince charming." He replied.
****************
Elektra entered her house with a smile on her face. She was happy. So absolutely happy and it was all because of Blake.
She was happy and glad that he had showed her his artwork. It meant that he really trusted her since he never shown it to anyone. She was delighted to know the other side of him. It made her feel closer to her.
As she entered the kitchen, her smile dropped when she saw piles of dirty dishes on the counter and the sink. She groaned and her shoulders slumped. Leave it to those evil rats to leave the dirty dishes to her.
She rolled up her sleeves and went to the sink as she started washing them. She turned stiff when she felt a presence behind her.
"Well, look what we have here. The maid's back." She heard Reina snarled.
Elektra held back a groan as she rolled her eyes. Great, now she had to deal with drama queen.
"What do you want, Reina?" She asked tiredly.
Reina hummed as she entered the kitchen, lazily resting her hands on the chair. "I remember myself telling a certain someone that Blake's mine...and yet, she still didn't get the message to leave him alone."
Elektra gritted her teeth in anger. "Ever heard of not everyone could fall for your so called slutty charms?"
Reina's eyes grew wide in anger. How dare she say that to her? "Listen here, slut. You know he's never going to like such a simple girl like you. Once he has you, he'll leave you like a cheap used bitch. I suggest you get that in your head."
"Oh really? I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me." She faked shock with sarcasm thick in her tone. "Well, at least he wants me rather than you and that's a huge achievement." She smirked.
Reina fumed with fury. "You bitch. You're a fucking whore! Just like your mother! No wonder-"
Reina felt her heart stopped and her legs went weak as she just recalled what had happened. A knife flew pass her, so close to her cheek and almost able to cut a few strands of her hair as it was pinned to the wall.
Reina swallowed the lump in her throat and sucked in a breath as she forgotten to breathe. She gasped in horror when she saw the woman fuming with anger in front of her. Her mind registered one word at her as she looked at her.
Dangerous.
Elektra looked deadly dangerous.
Her heart pounded faster in fear when Elektra made her way to her. Reina wanted to run but she couldn't. She was frozen with fear when she looked at those deadly eyes. If she was reading it right, Elektra's eyes showed her that she was about to kill someone.
She closed her eyes as Elektra's hand flew towards her. Shock registered in her when she didn't feel anything. She opened her eyes to see the knife pinned to the wall in her hands. Her cold emotionless eyes on her, making her shiver in fear. A slow deadly smirk appeared on her face, killing her soul slowly. Reina could feel her heart pounding in her ears and fear stuck in her throat.
"You can call me names, you can torture me and treat me as a maid..." She flicked the knife in her hand with her eyes still on hers. "But you can never insult my mother. Do you understand?" She coldly stated.
"Do you understand?" She repeated. Her voice slightly rose menacingly at her when she didn't answer.
Reina's voice was stuck in her throat. So, she could only nod in response.
"Good." Elektra sneered. "Now, I suggest we kept this our secret...Or I promise you..." She said as an evil smirk appeared on her face. "It won't be pretty."
Reina swallowed the lump in her throat, her knees almost giving out at the deadly look on Elektra's face as she hastily nodded.
"Go." She clipped and Reina scrambled on her feet, leaving the kitchen in haste.
Elektra still stood there, her body shaking slightly, her hand gripping the grip of the knife tightly. Her dark brown hair curtained her face and short breaths escaped her mouth. She felt someone's presence in the room but she still stood there frozen and emotionless.
"Ela..." Hearing Henry's voice made her finally break down into tears.
She felt Henry took out the knife from her hand and put it away before wrapping his arms around her. His cold hand guided her head to rest on her chest as angry tears stream down her face.
Henry's heart broke for the little girl in his arms. God knows how much she loved and still loves her mother. She would go great lengths for her.
He placed a gentle kiss on top of her head and rubbed her back, comforting the little girl who misses her mother dearly. "I'm here for you, little one."
