Chapter 15
How to Run Away from Obsessed Men
âSheâs probably furious right now.â
Lilia was likely at the academy in the capital. If she found out that Lindsey had stayed in her room even for a day, she would be very angry.
But she wouldnât show her emotions openly.
Lilia liked people to see her as pure and innocent.
âEverything is a bother. I want to go home.â
Her home. She wanted to return to Korea, to the place where her comrades were.
Knock, knock.
At that moment, Lindsey turned her head at the sound of a knock.
âCome in.â
As soon as Lindsey granted permission, the door opened. A maid, trembling, looked at Lindsey.
âIt seems the rumors have spread.â
She didnât remember all the servantsâ faces. Her time at the Marquis of Kesionâs household was a distant memory.
The servants always ignored her. But the reaction of the maid in front of her was clearly one of fear.
âNone of the servants were on my side anyway. They must be reacting like this because they feel guilty.â
It was harder to find a servant who hadnât harassed Lindsey. Now that they knew she had manifested divine power, they must be afraid of retribution.
âMiss Lindsey. The Marquis has asked you to come to the meeting room when you wake up.â
Up to this point, it was as she had expected.
But Lindseyâs expression turned incredulous at the maidâs next words.
âAnd Kenyan Radian has arrived. He says he will attend the meeting.â
At that moment,
Lindsey, who had been looking out the window, made eye contact with someone.
A man with dazzling blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. As the maid said, it was Kenyan Radian.
There he was.
Kenyanâs gaze was fixed directly on Lindsey. Her face twisted with displeasure as she stood by the window.
It seemed the news of her awakening divine power had spread widely.
Even to the Radian household.
Lindsey sighed and spoke to the maid.
âPlease leave for a moment.â
Her head ached.
âWhy is that guy here?â
As soon as she solved one problem, another one came to bother her.
âNo, no.â
Lindsey decided to think positively.
âItâs still better than seeing Sylvia, right?â
Dealing with Kenyan was better than dealing with Sylvia. At least he didnât go out of his way to harass her. He merely ignored her and hurled insults.
And after all, the annulment of her engagement to Azhet was already planned.
âIt canât be undone nowâ¦â
The annulment papers had already reached the Marquis of Kesion a long time ago.
Now that Klein knew she had awakened divine power, there was no way he would send her to the Radian household.
He also found Sylvia troublesome.
âMaybe Sylvia is up to something.â
She was known for her bizarre antics.
âWhat an unpleasant guy.â
Kenyan continued to stare at Lindsey without looking away. Lindsey, too, glared back at him. For some reason, she didnât want to lose to Kenyan in anything.
âWhatâs with that expression?â
Kenyanâs expression was strange.
He looked angry, yet there was something complex about his face. Lindsey leaned against the window and looked down at him.
When Lindsey Kesion, she always had to look up at those people.
She used to think they were unimaginably high and mighty, but looking down on them now, they seemed like nothing.
It was while she was thinking this, without looking away, that she felt someone push her from behind. Lindsey, who was sitting by the window, lost her balance and began to fall.
ââ â
Kenyan couldnât understand why he was here. What on earth was he planning to do in this place?
Lindsey Kesion.
Why had he come all this way just to see her?
He only thought that he needed to stop his mother from going to the Kesion household to prevent the annulment.
âBecause she wants to break off the engagement with my brother.â
But now, meeting Lindseyâs eyes was entirely unexpected.
Moreover, Lindseyâs gaze was completely different from before. The arrogance in her eyes as she looked down at him was unbearable.
âSheâs not fit for my brother.â
He clenched his teeth.
Dirty blood.
No matter how much divine power Lindsey Kesion had awakened, the fact remained that she had dirty blood.
Moreover, he still couldnât forget the things she had done to his family. Harassing innocent maids and squandering the familyâs money on luxury.
And she had even insulted his mother.
âA ridiculous woman. Acting like she was the victim.â
It was annoying.
Just looking at her got on his nerves.
And ever since her gaze had changed completely, she had been on his mind continuously.
âMake her pay for what she did to our family, as Mother said.â
Then he would have no reason to come here again. As he made this resolution and turned his gaze away from Lindsey, he had a bad feeling.
The senses of a transcendent were unnervingly sharp. His instincts were warning him.
He needed to turn around.
If he didnât look back, he would regret this moment for a long time. But at the same time, he felt he shouldnât turn around.
This choice might change the futureâ¦
Why?
The time to choose was brief.
He turned around.
He saw Lindsey falling.
There was no time to think.
Kenyan leaped.
ââ â
Her body swayed and she fell.
Ah, is this how I die?
Even as she fell, Lindsey felt no particular fear.
Perhaps if she died like this, she might return to Korea.
The thought brought her a strange sense of peace. Lindsey slowly closed her eyes. If someone hadnât caught her, she would have fallen to her death.
âAre you insane? Are you trying to kill yourself?â
Lindsey felt a wave of discomfort. The manâs body holding her was excessively hot, and his breathing was rough.
His heart was pounding like it was about to explode, as if he had seen something shocking.
âLindsey Kesion, were you trying to kill yourself?â
Kenyan shouted angrily at Lindsey.
His strong and sturdy arms were supporting her.
If he hadnât caught her with his superhuman strength, she would have been severely injured.
âI wasnât trying to die.â
âWhat the hell are youâ¦!â
Kenyan couldnât believe Lindseyâs words. When she fell from the window, her face didnât show any sign of surprise.
It was a resigned expression, as if she had accepted everything.
How could a person be like that?
How could someone look so indifferent in a moment that could lead to their deathâ¦
A thought crossed Kenyanâs mind, causing him to frown.
âLindsey Kesion, youâ¦â
ââ¦â¦â
âAre you that sad about breaking off the engagement with my brother Azhet?â
Lindsey slowly turned her head.
Her face contorted with disbelief at Kenyanâs absurd words.
She couldnât understand how he could think that.
Was she trying to die because she was sad about breaking off the engagement with Azhet?
âThis guy is reallyâ¦â
Lindsey shook her head.
âMy head already hurts, donât spout nonsense.â
âSo you made a big fuss about the annulment and then came back because you still liked him?â
ââ¦â¦â
âHa!â
ââ¦â¦â
âThereâs no one in this family who likes you, but if you still liked my brother, why did you come back?â
Lindsey held her head with one hand.
She couldnât stand listening to Kenyanâs nonsense any longer. Even if she denied it, he wouldnât believe her.
Conversations should be held with reasonable people.
âThanks for saving me.â
ââ¦â¦â@@novelbin@@
âBut your nonsense is really unpleasant.â
Lindsey pushed against Kenyanâs body.
The feel of his excessively hot body holding her like a restraint made her skin crawl. His unusual heat made it even more uncomfortable.
But Kenyan didnât budge.
âLet me go!â
Lindsey frowned at him. Nothing good had come from returning to this world.
The worst part was being in Kenyanâs arms and that he had no intention of moving.
âNo, itâs annoying that this guy caught me like this.â
Kenyanâs misunderstanding was even more terrible. Lindsey looked at him, unwilling to let her go, and spoke.
âIs this funny to you? Do you think this is a good show?â
âWhat?â
âYeah, youâre right. No one in this family likes me.â
ââ¦â¦â
âBut⦠was it any different there?â
Kenyanâs face twisted. What a ridiculous woman.
She was angry after being saved?
Kenyanâs eyes turned red with rage.
He couldnât contain his boiling anger. Kenyan moved closer to Lindsey, looking like he was ready to devour her.
âWhy donât you just honestly ask for help?â
âAsk for help?â
âYeah, if you beg for help, maybe who knows.â
ââ¦â¦â
âYou begged my brother, didnât you? Begged him not to break off the engagement. Said you didnât want to go back home.â
ââ¦â¦â
âIf my brother breaks off the engagement with you, I might save you? So why donât you just be honest?â
âYou⦠Are you seriously suggesting that youâd marry me if I break off the engagement with Azhet?â
TL/N: This novel is literally soo frustrating. I donât have words to say.
