🔗Aidans POV🔗

"Aidan, how stupid can you be?" My loving sister Nadia asks beside me.

"Like are you kidding me? You leave your masking spray at the house which is three hours away. Youre lucky I had mine or you would have blown our cover. And why was that depressed mutt staring at you?"

"Okay, what would you like me to reply to first?" I say annoyed as I'm driving.

Nadia scoffs as I pull into our new apartment.

It's not our usual set up, but i really like it, the people who we bought it from decorated it really nicely and it's warm.

I know, I know vampires don't like warm weather, the sun, ahh I'm burning. But none of that crap is fully true.

No, we don't melt from the sun, but it does irritate us and cause headaches. I personally like being out in daylight unlike my siblings who like to be couped up in our dark mansion walking around almost naked in temperatures below 5 degrees.

And no, we do not sparkle.

"You know, if you really like being around humans, why don't you do me and Elias a big favor and just leave. Your always a Debbie downer, you don't like to do anything fun and you don't act like the rest of our kind." Nadia says disgusted.

"I'm sorry that I don't find the fun in killing people, who half the time are innocent. I'm sorry I don't like to torture people." I say slamming the car door.

I walk up the stairs not holding the door for my sister, I hang my book bag on the rack, sliding off my converse and walking to the kitchen.

"How dare you not open the door for me!" My sister screams.

My brother then appears in his pajamas pants and no shirt.

"What is it now?" He mumbles rubbing his eyes.

"He leaves his masking spray here and we had to come all the way back. Just now he doesnt even open the door for me, and overall hes acting like mother, "Lets reason, maybe find another way out. I'm sick and tired of it Elias." My sister screams throwing her stuff in the floor and pushing me out the way to go to the fridge.

She pulls out a blood bag, pouring it into a wine glass and chugs at it.

"Aidan." My brother groans rubbing his face.

"Can we not have this talk Elias? I get it I'm a disgrace. Now go take shower. Got it." I say grabbing a blood bag and a bag of doritos.

And yes, I do like to eat some human foods. They are pretty good.

I walk to my room, which is all black and sit in my bean bag.

I drink the bag, and eat some Doritos.

Elias and Nadia don't get me, like at all. Just like my father didn't understand my mother.

I was always known as a mommas boy when I was younger, and that was fine with me.

Since Elias was the oldest he was learning leader skills with dad, and Nadia was always the daddy's girl.

My mom used to always take me with her on her little trips which consisted on human watching.

Of course we'd always have masking spray on... anyways we'd go to a populated area like London, Tokyo, and my favorite New York City and watch the humans.

My mother always admired the humans, she always said their life was more eventful, which I didn't understand because we always had the same thing as them, but more.

I grew with her admiration. I would too go human watch and when I was old enough I would go alone.

I even socialized with some, even some werewolves. They are not as bad as my father Viktore made them out to be.

When I was 15, my mother was killed by hunters. At the time it looked like i was the only one distraught about it. Sure my dad was sad for a day or two, but he walked around like a weight was lifted of his shoulder. He started throwing parties, sleeping with women and other wild things.

Till this day, I think he was the one who killed my mother, but I'd never know because he died last year.

He was tortured by hunters.

Enough about them, they are distracting me from my Doritos.

(Later that night)

I'm currently sitting in the dark of my room bored out of mind.

Now feels like a good time to go people watching.

I walk out of my room and to the door grabbing my black hoodie and slipping on my converse.

"Where are you going?" Nadia asks appearing in her maroon silk sleep dress making her look even more pale.

"Why do you care?" I say grabbing my hat.

"I really dint, but just curious. And why do you dress like a homeless human?" She asks looking me up and down.

I have on a pair of blue skinny jeans with a black hoodie paired with a white baseball

"Goodbye Nadia." I say walking out.

I walk out of our apartment and into the chilly air of the city.

I've been to almost every place in the city except the pizza shop.

I walk observing the humans, I finally make it to the pizza shop.

I walk in greeted by the workers. There's not many people only nine people.

I walk to the back of the shop and sit in a booth.

In front of me two seats ahead is a couple who are feeding eachother garlic knots.

Gross.

Not the couple. Garlic. It's like wolfsbane but for vampires.

But back to the couple, they look so happy.

My mother loved watching couples.

I once found her diary, and in it she wrote that she loved how humans had the chance to fall in love multiple times until they found the right one. But she didntnlioe the heartbreaking factor.

I guess she wasn't too fond about having arranged marriages. She also wrote how werewolves had their 'mates'.

I'd have to agree with her.

As I'm watching the couple, a dark figure steps in front of my view.

"How about you stop being a creep and staring at the couple and get out of my booth?" The figure asks.

I look up to see a human girl wearing leggings, a hoodie and sunglasses on her face.

"Oh, sorry Miss. Didn't know this was your designated seat." I say sincerly getting up.

"Are you trying to be smart with me?" The girl asks putting her hand in her hip.

"No, no not at all." I say putting my hands up.

The girl tilts her head and looks at me.

" I know you. Youre the kid that ran into me at school." The girl says.

I ran into a werewolf earlier...she must have the masking spray on.

"Oh sorry about that. I'll just go now." I say side stepping trying to get out of this situation.

"Wait, are you one of the twins?" She asks grabbing my arm making feel something in my stomach.

"Uh, yeah." I say looking anywhere but her.

"Aidan, am I right? And that blonde girl Nadia is your sister?" She says dropping my arm.

"Unfortunately. " I say making her laugh. She reveals perfectly white teeth and her laugh is quite adorable.

"She seems" she pauses. "Fun."

"You have no idea." I say and she smiles again.

"Uh, would you like to sit, like together?" She asks looking at me.

"Uh, yeah." I say sitting back down.

"So, where did you move here from?" She asks sitting across from me.

"Uh, New York?" I say which sounds more of a question.

The girl gives me a questionable look then asks.

"do you know a girl named Lucy Crest? She a close friend of mine and just moved her from New York."

"Uh, I don't recall." I say nervously.

The girl nods then a waitress walks over with a large pizza, followed by a guy carrying three baskets of chicken wings.

"One large pepperoni pizza, with three baskets of our famous buffalo wings." The waitress says placing the pizza down.

"Awh, Trish how'd you know?" The girl asks smiling.

"Well, Karlie Ann you have been coming in everyday since forever, I think I know our favorite regulars order." The woman know as Trish says winking.

Karlie Ann. Such a beautiful name.

"Well thank you." Karlie Ann says looking at the food before us with a grin.

Trish lays down a note and walks away.

Dont worry. Everything will turn around. The meals on me. Enjoy.

"First name bases?" I say with a smirk.

"Well, pizza and wings are my comfort foods when im sad. Im here almost everyday." She says.

"Are you sad everyday?" I ask.

She looks at me, then lifts up her glasses to reveal beautiful coffee colored eyes. That are puffed and red.

"Does this answer your question?" She says with a small smile.

I don't say anything, so she takes the chance to dig into the pizza.

I watch as she eats piece after piece. Out of 30 pieces she's already ate 4 slices in 10 minutes.

"Instead of watching me you can help yourself." She says grabbing another piece.

I laugh and shake my head.

"I'm not hungry." I say rolling my sleeves.

"So, you're not hungry but i happen to catch you in a pizza shop? What are you doing watching everyone eat?" She asks with a smile.

"Yeah, something like that." I say and she scoffs.

Thirty minutes laters, pizza and wings eaten, Karlie Ann sits back stretches.

"I can't believe you just ate all that by yourself." I say in awe.

"Well believe it son. I did offer you to to eat, you said no so I couldn't let it go to waste." She says standing up.

I laugh, for a wolf she's actually really cool to be around.

If only she was my kind, I could see myself with her.

"Where you headed?" I ask putting a hundred dollar bill on the table.

"Home." She replies putting her glasses on her head.

"To do what?" I ask as we walk to the door.

"So you are a creep." She says smiling.

"It was just a question." I say putting my hood over my hat.

"Probably to go cry myself to sleep." She says nonchalantly.

I look turn and look at her.

"Just being honest." She says with a shrugg.

" if I'm correct, something that cheers up a girl is some good ice cream. Want to grab some from the place across the street?" I ask hopefully.

"You buying?" She says skeptical.

"Yes." I laugh.

"You got a deal there sunny." She says patting my back.

As we cross the street, Karlie Ann stops and puts her hands on her knees.

"You okay?" I say putting my hand on her back and she shutters.

She then stands back up.

"Yeah, I think the wings are getting to me." She says with a laugh that looks forced.

"We don't have to get ice cream, if you don't feel well." I say.

"Go home and give up free ice cream?" She says making me laugh.

The ice cream place is like a little shack, with five people working it.

We stand in the line, waiting as people at handed their ice cream from the window.

There's two people when I feel Karlie Ann grabs my arms and leans on me.

"I don't feel so well." She says putting her other hand on her forehead.

And at that same time I get sorta dizzy.

"Lets sit." I say.

As were walking I start to see double and I feel like I'm on a boat.

I suddenly fall in my butt, and since I have Karlie Ann holding onto me she falls into my lap.

I prop myself on my elbows and look straight.

Slowly everything goes into focus.

People are circling us, asking if we're okay.

I look at Karlie Ann who's eyes are closed.

I sit up and lift her up, my hand around her neck, and I can feel her pulse.

I close my eyes, feeling like i could lose control at any moment.

What the he'll is happening to me? I feel all weird.

"Karlie wake up. Karlie." I say moving hair out of her face.

"Karlie Ann!" I shout, and a few seconds her eyes flutter open.

She looks around, then looks at me. Our eyes lock and it's like it's just us.

Her eyes go big. And she says something.

"Huh?" I say leaning closer to her.

And she says it again, and I hear it perfectly.

"Mate."

My eyes go big, because i know how this whole mate thing works.

I pull back and look her in her eyes, as she looks scared and surprised at the same time.

"Youre a vampire." She whispers.

"Youre a werewolf." I whisper back.

Her mouth drops and I do something that suprises her.

I lean down and kiss her.

At first she doesn't react but then she recovers.

As we kiss in hear someone say something.

"You could move out of our walk way you know."

I feel Karlie Ann's hand move from my neck and out.

I look to see her middle finger is up at the girl.

I laugh.

Well i wonder how this will turn out.

Should be hell of ride.
