Chapter 7

Professor Harris

Allura was adjusting in her seat as they pulled up to her house. The day between her and Kamala had went smoothly, besides the run in with Stanley. The connection between was them growing day by day and their love was beginning to grow. When Kamala was around, Allura never felt the need to get on her phone. Kamala always had her full attention no matter what was going on. Kamala was in the driver seat humming along to whatever was playing on the radio, but she would look over at Allura with an admiration.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Allura asked, but her voice held amusement.

Kamala continued humming while a smile started to form on her face. "I just like to admire your features. Is that a crime?"

"Oh trust me, I do it five days out of the week- oh, excuse me- seven now."

Kamala let out a laugh as they pulled into the driveway of Allura's house. The air was warm and the sun was shining upon them, reflecting their love for each other. As they both stepped out, Kamala came around to the passenger side door grabbing Allura's hand. They walked hand in hand to the front door, and as Allura stepped inside, she could feel Kamala still standing outside.

Allura turned around, seeing Kamala standing at the door. "You're not coming inside?"

"No, baby, we've both got school tomorrow and I can't show up with you." Her tone soft and calm.

There was a small frown on Allura's face and she felt a hint of sadness. She loved being around Kamala and how safe she felt with her. There was no doubt they'd see each other at school but they simply couldn't be seen.

"Ugh, I forgot about that. I wish you could stay the night because I won't be able to see you until next weekend."

Kamala raised and eyebrow as the realization set in. "Who says we have to wait until next weekend?"

Allura paused, trying to think about what Kamala was saying. "What do you mean?"

They clasped hands as Kamala stood on the outside while Allura stood on the inside. Allura's mouth slightly opened as they both started to squeal in sync, jumping up and down like two in love teenagers.

"AFTER CLASS!"

"Oh shit! I didn't even think about after class. Thank god I don't have to wait another week." Allura said, her smile ever so present.

"See, you were about to get all worked up for nothing." Kamala checked her watch as she sighed. "I have to get going, baby. I gotta start on grading these papers, but I'm gonna call you once I get home so you better answer."

"Okay, Mrs. Bossy. I will."

It was such a turn on when she was bossy. It's like she grew a few inches taller when she was like this.

She reached for my jaw, pulling me into a kiss as her other hand rested firmly on my waist. Moments like these felt so surreal to me and I know Kamala felt the same. She pulled back slightly, taking in the sight of my eyes. We both stood like that for a moment too long before Kamala began taking a few steps back.

"I'll see you soon, baby girl."

She drove off and I stood at the door watching her go, immediately feeling her presence go with her. I went inside and my phone immediately went off. I knew who it was and what was coming.

Riah Γ°ΒŸΒ’Β•: Ykw, I feel like I know what happened but imma just wait until tomorrow so you can tell me the tea in person Γ°ΒŸΒ‘Β€

Gosh I loved Riah. She was so damn nosy all the time but that's my ride or die until the end. I placed my phone on my bed as I went straight for the shower. I've been meaning to wash my hair but I've been so caught up in my school work that it kept slipping my mind. I got inside letting the hot water hit my body as the steam filled the room. I stepped out and did my skincare as I let my curls fall past my shoulder. My phone rang from my bedroom and I realized that I hadn't saved Kamala's number yet. Before I answered, I saved her name without a second thought.

As I answered, she had her phone propped up on her desk with her glasses sitting perfectly on her nose. She was smiling from ear to ear and so was I.

"Look at you, you look so eatable right now."

My breath hitched as I slightly put my head down into my bed. I felt those butterflies forming in my stomach and I bit my lip slightly, trying to hid my smile.

Kamala, clearly amused, shook her head as she bit her own lip.

"God, I just love how I have this effect on you. It works every time. You blush so much when I come around."

"It's your fault, Kamala. You're one hell of a smooth talker. I just know you had all the women in college."

Her hand rested on her chin as she removed her glasses trying to hold in a laugh she'd been holding. "Aww man, my college days were..." her voice trailed off as she looked off to the side. "My college days were something else. I will admit, I had a few women after me but I never really took any of them seriously."

I shot her a knowing look along with a side eye. As fine as she was, I didn't believe that for one second.

"What? It's true, I didn't." She said, coming into full view of the camera.

"Kamala, you're too fine for me to believe that."

As their conversation went on, they both had fallen asleep with Kamala being first. They were both in bed with the faint sound of little snores from both of them.

Monday Morning

The next morning, I awoke to sun beaming through my window. I grabbed my phone and to my surprise, it was dead. I placed it on the charger as I got ready for school. I couldn't wait to see Kamala again. We hadn't even been separated for a full twenty four hours but it felt like days without her around. I threw on something casual for the day. I had about thirty minutes to spare and I needed my phone to charge before I left. I made a small breakfast as I watched tv for a little bit. My phone lit up from the corner of my eye and before I knew it, I was at my bedside. I received a text from Kamala. Her name popping up instantly making my day.

Kamala ҝ€ï¸: Good morning, sweet pea. I can't wait to see you today. I hope you slept well.

She's such a softie. I immediately responded before I headed out, sending her all the love. I grabbed my bag and my keys as I got in my car and made my way to school. Per usual, there were students outside playing loud ass music being obnoxious as always. I went straight for class and I could already see Riah sitting ever so peacefully in her seat. I came up, setting my things down as she stopped everything she was doing to look at me.

"I just know you had a good night." She said, giving me a smirk.

I rolled my eyes playfully as I pulled out my notebook. "Shut up."

As the students began settling in, the bell rang as Kamala walked in with the Gucci belt that I had bought her. She wore a white blazer, black jeans, and a white shirt to match underneath. Her eyes instinctively fell on mines as she walked in. For a moment, I could see the faint smile tug at her lips while trying to keep her professionalism. I bit my lip back trying to hold back any emotion.

Kamala stood front and center and my eyes followed that belt everywhere she went.

"Good morning, everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend and that you're well rested for the work we have ahead."

Her eyes would land on me occasionally but never too long for anyone to notice. Just then, the door opened and in walked Stanley. That annoying ass smile that she wore every single day would piss me off so bad. She walked right over to Kamala, who looked surprised to even see Stanley.

"Professor Harris, Good morning!" Her tone was so full of energy, like nothing could ruin her day.

Kamala placed her textbook back down on her desk, her attention now turning to Stanley. "Good morning, Professor. What can I help you with?"

Kamala kept her tone neutral and professional. Some students took the opportunity to pull out their phones while I kept my attention strictly on this interaction.

"Well, I've went over everything I need to with my students so I told them to take this day to study what we've gone over. Would you mind if I sit in here and watch your lesson?"

I could see the hesitation in Kamala's face and something told me that she really didn't want to say yes, but she was put on the spot so she had no choice. As she picked up her textbook, she gave a nod of approval. Stanley smiled and sat in the corner of the room.

I felt a surge of annoyance once again. It's like Stanley never had shit to do besides bother Kamala. It was really starting to piss me off and I couldn't help but look in her direction. She sat in that seat as if she belonged in this class. Riah, who could sense my annoyance, gave me thigh a gentle pat.

"She's playing in your face right now, but don't let that hoe get under your skin, Lura. You know where Kamala's heart is, and she's just mad that Kamala chose you over her." Her voice just above a whisper.

Riah's words did calm my nerves a bit but knowing that Stanley was in the same room wasn't helping much. As the class came to an end, Kamala gave us her usual farewell. I planned on staying behind but something told me to wait around a bit.

"I will see you all tomorrow. Make smart choices and don't forget to study."

I gathered my things very slowly, and so did Riah. Stanley quickly stood from her seat as she walked over towards Kamala.

"Professor Harris, I'm hosting a get together this weekend at my house and I wanted to see if you would be interested in coming over?"

Riah and I looked at each other as we both we were waiting on Kamala's response. There was a short silence before she spoke, the tension starting to suffocate me.

"Please," she said pouting her lip. "It'll be so much fun."

Kamala let out a breath as a smile started to form "Okay, Okay. I'll be there."

I looked at Riah, whose mouth was slightly open. I simply nodded as we walked down the stairs towards the door. They both looked up not knowing that we were still there. I could see the smile fade on Kamala's face as the realization started settling in that I was in the room. As I passed by, Stanley greeted us but I didn't say shit back and neither did Riah. I moved with quickness towards the door when I felt Kamala try to reach for my arm.

"Hey, Allur-"

Before she could finish, I was already out the door, fuming.
