Mind to Bend: Chapter 26
Mind to Bend (Stolen Obsessions Book 1)
Itâs been two weeks since I brought Seraphina here, and I must admit, I had no idea it would be this blissful. I showed her the video of our session that first morning, and no surprise, my filthy girl loved it. So much so that sheâs thrown herself into it this time with me as best she could.
Her mindless devotion is the most satisfying submission she could offer me, but this is only a vacation. The real Seraphina will come out when sheâs ready. Once I know itâs safe for her.
I take her sweet cunt at least three times a day, but often more. I am so incensed by her smell, taste, and feel I canât think straight. Iâve called in sick for two weeks since the first day I took online appointments. I told them I have mono, and while itâs a blatant lie, Iâd call it the least of my sins. Though, I will have to come up with something else soon.
I covered my crimes, and Tim had a history of alcoholism and spousal abuse, this situation is navigable. I could make our lives work back in that tiny city if she really wanted to, but we would be better off moving on. This peaceful setup wonât work forever. Already, the signs of neglect around the house and grounds are evident; Iâm going to have to bring the staff back soon.
So far, things with Seraphina are amazing, but I can tell weâre not ready for the real world yet. Between the mind-blowing sex, hypnosis sessions, and bonding weâve been doing, sheâs still crying, and, in my professional opinion, she mourns the life sheâs leaving behind.
She doesnât know Tim is dead. I had hoped to have told her the truth about everything by this point, but that hasnât been possible yet. We can stay here as long as we want to, but I relied on us not needing to spend months to get to where she needs to be, and I also didnât want to have to pay the millions it takes to keep the whole staff silent.
I havenât told her everything, and part of the reason is sitting in front of my desk: Pax. He comes to this house far too often for my comfort. Our moms were identical twins, meaning we share a little more in common than your average cousins do. Genetically, weâre half-siblings.
His hair is as black as mine, and heâs artfully gelled it back like heâs going to the fucking prom. His wool suit costs a small fortune, and while I could easily afford the same, Iâve never felt the need to drip wealth.
His grin looks too similar to mine as he looks me up and down. I donât want to know his thoughts, but Pax has never given anyone that luxury.
âYou look delighted, Shane. I canât say Iâve ever seen you in such high spirits.â
âIâm alarmed to admit you look happy too, Cousin.â Iâm not always the most normal guy. I admit that my infatuation with Seraphina isnât typical, but Pax is a little more, letâs call it, eccentric than I am, and that wicked glint in his eyes spells trouble.
âIâve found a pretty little thing to keep my interest, just like my big cousin. A nun. And God, is she sweet.â
Pax and I are both spoiled brats. Weâve been given everything we wanted in life and taken the rest. I donât have a leg to stand on regarding women or moral pursuits, but me being scared for the woman heâs set his sights on is saying something. Pax isnât like me.
âAn actual fucking nun, Pax, or are you speaking metaphorically?â
âWouldnât you like to know, Cousin?â he teases me with an even more wicked smile.
âYouâre not planning on killing her, are you?â I canât deny the genuine concern in my tone. I donât typically give a shit about his antics, but after what I did to Tim, the last thing I need is more heat in our direction. I wouldnât put it past Pax to try and pin it on me if he did kill someone since we look alike enough to confuse a witness. And it wouldnât be the first time he killed someone young and pretty out of jealousy.
âCousin, itâs not very forgiving of you to keep bringing up the one time that I accidentallyââ
âMurdered your nanny?â I finish for him, thinking of the bloody mess heâd made of the nineteen-year-old girl when he was thirteen.
He scoffs at me like Iâm the worldâs biggest idiot. âYou know Matilda had it coming.â He brushes me off like Iâve said nothing of particular importance. But that girl was not his to punish, and he knows it. âAre you planning to kill Seraphina?â
I nearly hit him for the mere suggestion, and he sees the reaction all over my face.
âIâll take that as a no,â he laughs. âDonât say stupid shit, Shane. I could never hurt my Snapdragon.â
I drop my head into my hands, wondering if heâs even spoken to her as well as what this poor woman of God did to garner his attention.
âFucking Christ, Pax. Please donât do anything so extreme you canât dig yourself out.â
âYouâre one to talk. You know Seraphina and her dead husband are all over the news, right? How long do you think it will take for her to notice?â
I give him a stern look before my gaze flicks to the door. Itâs open a crack. I stand and move toward it, shutting it before returning to him.
âI know itâs going to happen sooner or later, but I was hoping for later.â I scratch my jaw in thought. âI underestimated her loyalty to that piece of shit. She wonât forgive me if she finds out too soon.â
âWhat will you do if she doesnât forgive you? Will you let her go?â He gives me a wicked smile like he finds my pain tantalizing.
âNo, Iâll toss your shit in the yard and take this house for us. You know itâs mine anyway, donât you, Pax?â And it is mine. He isnât the next in line to it either. I just donât feel the need to live in a castle.
âOf course I remember, Cousin. No need to be a dick about it. I would never keep you from any of my properties, and some of them may interest you with your newfound proclivities. Donât think I missed the rope.â
âOf course you wouldnât,â I answer dryly.
âWell, I ought to be going.â He slaps his knees and stands like a midwesterner, politely dismissing me.
âYou never even got to the point of this little visit.â Iâm observing him because Iâm confident the slippery fuck is up to something.
âSure I did.â He winks. âUntil next time.â
He walks out of my office whistling, and I take a deep breath, deciding against following him. The sooner heâs out of this house, the better.
I stay at my desk for a few minutes. In the back of my mind, Iâm worrying over Seraphina and hoping Pax doesnât do anything too terrible to this girl whoâs caught his attention. But Iâm not going to stop him either way. We have always agreed to look the other way regarding each otherâs businesses. Neither of us has typical tastes, and the last thing we need is familial judgment on top of the legal implications of our actions.
Matilda, the nanny he killed, is the one exception. She was my girlfriend, and she fucked my thirteen-year-old cousin. According to Pax, she even told him she loved him. So yeah, she had it coming, but thatâs one sore spot Iâll never completely let go.
