Chapter 113

one hundred eleven

Against all odds - Minsung [✔]

"Hello, Mr. Youngjae. I'm the journalist sent by Mr. Jinyoung," Jisung explained briefly. His heartbeats were faster than usual, his hands clammy. "Thank you for your invitation."

"You don't need to thank me. Please have a seat," he replied and winked at Jisung. They sat down on the armchairs near the window and started the interview.

Minho's eyes never left Youngjae. He followed his every move. The way this creep stared at Jisung irritated him.

"I'd like to ask what your thoughts were as you came up with your most recent song. The lyrics sound very interesting."

"Oh, thank you," Youngjae smirked. His eyes flashed red, and Jisung sensed his magic engulf him. He struggled to concentrate as to all he could focus on was the incubus.

Everything around him seemed to blur, his mind going hazy. He fought against it, but the magic drowning him was strong.

"Stop that, you bastard," Minho growled. "Don't piss me off. I know what you're trying to do to him."

"I have no idea what you mean," Youngjae smiled innocently. "Jisung, is this rude person your boyfriend? Why don't you break up with him?"

Minho immediately blocked his magic off by using his own to shield Jisung. He glowered at the other demon, not wanting to deal with this crap a second longer.

"Listen here, motherfucker. Don't mess with my husband or else you're going to fucking regret it," he threatened.

His words made Jisung come back to reality. "Wait, what did you say?!" he sputtered, his cheeks flushed. "W-What did you just call me?"

Youngjae's smile slipped. "Alright, alright. Calm down," he sighed. "I was just having some fun. I didn't mean to mess with you guys."

The tables had turned on him now. He'd been driven into a corner, so he decided to just get the interview over with to get rid of the annoying light demon.

Jisung stayed polite throughout the whole interview even though he now had a strong dislike for Youngjae. If this meeting hadn't been connected to his job, he would've already yelled at this incubus.

But he needed to preserve the reputation of his company. After all, getting to interview a famous person was rare. They needed more opportunities like this one.

The thirty minutes that were planned for the interview went by painfully slowly. He constantly sensed Minho's sizzling anger, and he constantly saw Youngjae's scowl.

At the end of the interview, he wasted no time to say goodbye to Youngjae and vowed to himself never to talk to him again.

Minho shot the incubus another threatening glare as they walked outside of his office.

Jisung heaved a sigh of relief after they left the building. Finally, that disastrous interview was over—he would do his best to forget about it.

But there was one thing that lingered in his mind until now though. "Minho, a while ago... did you just... call me your husband?"

"Yeah, why? Isn't that true?" he smirked. "And you know what? Why don't we turn this into a date now. Since we're in the middle of town and it's only three o'clock, there's plenty of time left to do something."

"Sounds good," Jisung nodded. "Where do you want to go?"

"I don't know," Minho shrugged. "How about you decide?"

"Fine, how about the shopping mall over there?" he asked and pointed at a nearby building that was swarmed with humans. It was loud and colorful—everything that Minho hated.

"Jisung," he sighed. "Really? Are you serious right now?"

"Well you told me that I could pick where we should go," he smiled and took Minho's hand, pulling him along excitedly.

"It's going to be fun, I promise! They have many shops and items in there... and I'm sure you'd love the arcade on the top floor."

And indeed, his comment had sparked the demon's attention.

They walked alongside each other when they crossed an intersection, heading straight for the mall.
