Chapter 3

My Heartless Alpha

Sorry it's taken me a while to upload! I've been busy with school and since I have my exams in like 5 months (*mentally shitting myself*) I was thinking of writing chapters at a time and then releasing them like every 3/4 days. -if that makes sense.

Tell me what u guys think about the book so far ! I would love to read your opinions ❤️

Anyway...... enjoy!:)

My first two classes flew by, most likely since they were my favourite subjects, history and English. My mind briefly forgot about the events of the morning as I was too enthralled in the wonderful world of literature.

I was now sat in maths, watching patiently as people filed into the room, ignoring all the stares I received. Absentmindedly, I took a seat right at the back next to the window, too caught up in the view of the mountains to hear that someone was talking to me.

Turning around I was met with unfamiliar brown eyes that radiated warmth.

"Hi, I'm Jackson!" He spoke enthusiastically with a bright smile on his adorable baby face.

"Hey" I replied smiling back, already liking him for his infectiously positive mood.

"Is it ok if I sit next to you?"

I briefly looked around the rest of the classroom noticing numerous empty desks, but I didn't mind him sitting next to me.

"Seats taken" I heard a familiar voice filled with anger pour from behind Jackson.

As Jackson slowly turned around I saw Mr Nameless; anger swirling in his grey orbs like a destructive tempest.

"Won't happen again Alp-"

"Get out of my sight" Mr Nameless growled, not bothering to hear Jackson out who was now quickly moving to the other side of the classroom.

"That was unnecessary" I said flatly as he slumped into the seat, making himself comfortable like he owned the place.

All he did was smirk in reply, acting like he had all the power in the world. His face was devoid of any emotion, his beautiful features hard and radiating authority.

The teacher took that moment to make an entrance. She was an old, spindly woman with an austere countenance and conserved appearance. I immediately disliked her.

"Asher, reception called for you there's an emergency"

Mr Nameless immediately stood and wordlessly hurried out of the class, not sparing a glance in my direction. I supposed I couldn't really call him Mr Nameless anymore.

Asher I thought before the teacher began the lesson and pulled me into the horrific, mundane world of mathematics.

~~~~~~~~
It had been 2 days since I'd seen Asher. It didn't especially bother me, I just felt slightly uneasy. I had no idea what was going on and I always liked to be one step ahead of others so Ashers abrupt exit and lack of attendance made me feel nervous,  the kind of unshakeable, insatiable anxiousness.
Yesterday I had my first Chemistry class and I was partnered with a girl named Lola . She's quickly becoming one of my close friends and I already love her bubbly, optimistic nature.
Friends weren't a priority for me, they never have been. I've always been so focused on my school work and grades so I can get a good career when I'm older and it was making me grouchy and moody; I needed a change. Me and Lola just clicked straight away. Weirdly, she reminded me of Asher. Both of them with grey eyes and black hair.
Are they siblings or something?
But on the third day, Lola didn't show either and I was beginning to get worried, especially since we were texting each other all the time.
I walked through the cafeteria doors leading to an outdoor picnic area and sat onto one of the many benches cemented to the ground, crossing my legs and getting comfortable after being sat on scratchy, cheap seats in the Library for 2 hours.
"Hey" she answered, sadness etched in her voice.
"What's up, why weren't u in today?" I conveyed my genuine worry.
"There some people from my ur ....family.. they are sick so I'm helping look after them"
" I hope they get better" I said sincerely.
Suddenly I heard squabbling on the other line. I could only just make out some words and I was pretty sure who initiated the heated conversation. She has a right to know Asher! It's time to tell her for goodness sake, I'm calling her round. I waited, the hairs on my arms standing up, NO!
You don't fucking scare me Asher, I'm your sister. You may be my leader but that doesn't mean you are doing the right thing and I'll sit back idly without voicing my opinions! I'm calling her over, this has to end. It's hurting you being apart, as much as I can see you try to hide it. Mates need to be together otherwise bad things happen. You know this. She spoke the last part calmly, emotion dripping off her words.
Silence enveloped me as we all turned quiet. What's happening? I thought, confusion swirling around me. My heart was beating erratically as goosebumps blossomed on my arms.
"Lola?" I spoke after an unquantifiable amount of time, my voice breaking from confusion and anxiousness.
"Stay where you are , Asher will pick you up in 5 minutes"
"No! For goodness sake talk to me Lola! I have a right to know what's going on!"
That was so out of the blue and unquestionable! What the fuck was going on? Why should I get in a car with him ? These questions multiplied the anger, confusion and aggravation raging inside of me.
Silence enveloped us once more as tension hung dreary and heavy in the air, the only sounds I could decipher  being my ragged and heavy breathing as well as the stirring of mahogany leaves at the bases of trees creating a shallow crackle.
"I can't okay ?, and you'll know soon enough that's why Ashers getting you. You must have questions about what's going on like why do I feel sparks when he touches me? And why does it feel... right with him?"
She began after a while, emotion dripping from her voice "They will be answered. So don't be scared ok, and please don't run off, just hear us- hear him out" she hung up on me just as a sleek black sports car pulled up metres away from me and the tinted windows rolled down as I met those sparkling grey orbs I was all too familiar with.
