Chapter 142
Hitched & Hitched Again: A Comedy of Marital Mayhem ( Elysia and Tarquin)
If the triplets grow up to approach life with the same zest as Blossom, sheâd be over the moon.
Positive, optimistic, living life to the fullest.
âAlmost nap time, you heading over to check on them?â Blossom asked.
Elysia pondered for a moment. âNah, Iâll let them get used to school. No need for me to disturb their routine.â
âAlright then, wait for me. Weâll grab lunch together. Itâs about that time.â
âYou can go out for lunch?â
âSure, today I donât have to sit with the kids during nap time. Weâve got other teachers on duty. I just need to be back by 1:30,â
âOkay.â
They left the kindergarten and didnât have to walk far to find a bustling food street nearby.
Skewers, a mutual favorite.
Chatting and eating, Blossom asked, âDid you leave early today to see that wild man?â
âYeah, and let me tell you, if you saw Elijah, youâd be stunned. Heâs the spitting image of Evan! If I hadnât been away from Jindale City when I gave birth, and that my kids never wouldâve ended up with him, I would think Elijahâs mine. To be honest, I canât stand that wild man, but when I see Elijah, my heart aches, especially when he throws those tantrums and breaks things. Itâs pitiful.â
Blossom suggested, âMaybe itâs âcause he looks like him. You see Elijah and youâre reminded of Evan.â
âYeah, thatâs what I think too.â
âAre you going to be hanging around their place for a while now?â
Elysia shook her head.
âNot sure. We didnât part on great terms today, no telling if heâll want to see me âWhat happened? Did he give you a hard time?â
Elysia thought it over and said, âElijahâs condition is more serious than Corbinâs. I told you last night.
Both of them have bipolar disorder, but the causes are different. Corbin was kidnapped as a child and has psychological trauma, but Elijahâs condition stems from an excessive longing for his mother.
Corbinâs easier to deal with. Every year there are similar cases, and the medical field has a pretty solid treatment plan for these kids. But Elijahâs different. A psychological disorder caused by an obsession with his mother? Thatâs new to me.â
round it. So many kids grow up in a singleâparent Blossom remarked, âWhen you told me last night, I couldnât wrap my head household, some even orphans, and you donât hear about them getting sick from missing someone too much. But âLonging turned to sicknessâ isnât a saying for nothing. There must be similar cases, just not in our radar.â
âYeah, rare, but that doesnât mean they donât exist.â
Blossom asked, âSo the kidâs fixated on his mother. Where is she?â
âNo clue. The wild man said she vanished after giving birth to Elijah and hasnât been seen since.â
âShe took off after having the baby? Why? Donât tell me she was driven away by that wild man.â
âWho knows? But with his icy demeanor, itâs a wonder he can keep anyone around at all. Always looks like someone owes him a fortune. Elijahâs mom mustâve been quite the womanâto date that guy and have his kid. Respect!â
Blossom said, âYou tell me heâs handsome and loaded, so why would a woman run off? Thereâs gotta be something wrong with him!â
âI feel the same way. Itâs just Elijah I feel sorry for. I havenât had the chance to talk to him yet. I donât even know if his illness really comes from being too attached to his mother.â
