Lock You In My Heart Chapter 598
Lock You In My Heart
Just a few moments after Gabrielle and Westleyâs arrival at the villa, the Campbell Familyâs bodyguards came bearing several well-packed boxes.
âMr. Morris, these are gifts from Victor. They are addressed to Mrs. Morris. Are we going to take them?â The bodyguard had a questioning look on his face as he gazed at the couple sitting on the couch.
It was quite a dumb thing to ask. Gabrielle was sitting right in front of him.
âShould we, Gabrielle?â Westley turned to look at his wife and asked.
His meeting with Victor earlier today was quite intense. Despite that, Westley did not let himself lose his temper in front of Victor.
He just wasnât worth the trouble.
The meeting was already utterly vehement. Victor sending Gabrielle presents was just adding fuel to the fire. It was too much.
âWell... Honey, do you think I should? If youâre not comfortable with me taking it, weâll have someone return it,â Gabrielle replied as she gazed at Westley with a wide grin on her face.
âMrs. Morris, the courier mentioned that Mr. Sanderson had gone back to Ensfield. If you donât want it, just throw it away. Thereâs no need to return it,â the bodyguard replied.
Gabrielle smiled at the sound of his words. She turned to look at Westley.
âHoney, did you hear that? He went back to Ensfield. If we return the gifts, wouldnât it be inconvenient to send everything all the way over there?â She turned to look at her husband with inquiring eyes.
It was, indeed, quite inconvenient. On top of that, Westley would have to pay for the courierâs fee.
âDidnât Victor mention that you could just throw the presents away if you donât want them? Letâs just get rid of everything.
Problem solved,â Westley said with a calm voice.
âHoney, whatâs your final decision? Do we throw everything away?â he asked.
Gabrielle knew exactly what was going on in her husbandâs mind. She smiled. âAlright, then. Letâs just get rid of them. Letâs have these disposed somewhere far. Out of sight, out of mind!â
Their actions werenât unplanned. It was awful of Westley to test her. He intended to see how she would react to his suggestion of throwing the presents away. The truth was, she and Victor had nothing going on. It was totally unnecessary to spite Westley through accepting Victorâs gifts. After all, her husband was evidently the jealous type. He would miraculously materialize from thin air once he had caught ind of a potential threat. Especially more so when a man had attempted to get real close with Gabrielle. Westleyâs cold, intimidating aura would certainly drive anyone away.
âDidnât you hear what my wife said? She wants everything gone. Take these away now!â Westley commanded. His voice as dominating. In hesitation, the bodyguard turned to look at Gabrielle. The gifts were for her, after all. It was her decision to make.
âMrs. Morris, should I take them away?â the bodyguard inquired. âYeah. Get them out of here,â she answered as she made a gesture of tossing things out. âDidnât you hear her? The sight of those things is irritating,â Westley exclaimed coldly. âTake them away before I start regretting it,â Gabrielle said as she closed her eyes. She sounded reluctant. âGabrielle, Iâm not joking. Iâm getting rid of these,â Westley couldnât help but tease her. There was what seemed to be a look of resentment on Gabrielleâs face.
âHoney... Can we open the presents before throwing them away?â Gabrielle pleaded. She held Westleyâs hand in an attempt to please him.
Her deliriously needy voice made it impossible for Westley to refuse her requ est. Besides, there was nothing wrong with taking a peek. âDid you check if the packages are safe?â Westley asked the bodyguard.
Westley was well aware of the fact that the bodyguards had checked everything thoroughly.
âAlright. Put them down. Iâll call you if I need anything.â Finally, Westley agreed to Gabrielleâs request.
Gabrielle was dying of curiosity. She couldnât help but wonder what was inside those packages. She had decided on donating the gifts if they were expensive. That way, nothing would go to waste. Poor children would benefit from the gifts.
âYou want to see whatâs inside, right? You should be the one to open them.â Westleyâs face was adorned with a charming smile as he gazed at his wifeâs beautiful face.
âHoney, I promise, Iâm just going to take a peek. Donât be jealous!â Gabrielle turned to look at her husband.
âOkay. Iâll try not to. Anyway, Iâm sure itâs nothing I couldnât give you. In fact, I know I could do better!â Westley exclaimed.
Gabrielle knew that he was speaking of the truth. He would go above and beyond for the things she longed for. Westley was determined to give her only the best.
âMy love, I know you love me. Everything youâve ever given me was the best. I never doubted you. Not even once. Nobody could possibly compete with you.â Gabrielle leaned over and gave Westley a peck on the cheek.
Westley shook his head, insinuating that the kiss wasnât enough. Seeing his dissatisfaction, Gabrielle immediately kissed him on the lips.
Westley grinned, looking as if his hunger had been satiated. Relief washed over Gabrielle. She was thankful that her husband wasnât too difficult to coax. It was without a doubt that Westleyâs love and affection for her were through the roof. He could never push her away. âWhat are you going to do once youâve taken a peek?â Westley inquired. âI want to see everything first. If itâs worth any money, we could donate them to some charities.â
Gabrielle had decided not to accept the presents. However, she thought that it would be a pity to throw everything away. âYeah, I also think that that is the best we could do.â Westley had always known that Gabrielle was a woman with her own thoughts. She never longed for things that werenât rightfully hers. Neither did she like accepting things from other people. She only took things accordingly. âLetâs take a look at them together. We can donate everything. These are gifts of gratitude after all. What I want to do with his presents is totally up to me.â Gabrielle began to tear the boxes open. There were five packages. Gabrielle opened them one by one. What she saw took her by surprise. Everything was beyond expensive.
There were handbags and jewelry, diamonds and agates. Gabrielle was a novice when it came to jewelry designing. However, she knew how to put a price on things with just one glance. The presents were worth ten million, if not more. The price on these things was utterly terrifying. She wondered if that was how wealthy people gave each other gifts. âWestley, these are so expensive.â Gabrielle looked at her husband with uneasy eyes. These were worth much more than Gabrielle anticipated. How could she possibly accept or donate these things? There was no way in hell she could just let herself throw everything away.
These things werenât something one could just so easily get rid of.
