Her Beautiful Innocence

A/N: First of all, damn idk who he is but he's HOT ^

Secondly, THANK YOU SM FOR THE VOTES. I really appreciate it <3

Sophia's POV

I accidentally threw my alarm clock on the floor next to my bed when I wanted to make the grating sound stop, and it didn't even stop!

I groaned and tumbled out of bed, pressed the stopร‚ย button and tried to untangle myself from the sheets. "Why is everything so hard this morning," I grumbled out loud when I found it impossible to move.

I don't know how I did it, but I kind of just rolled myself into the bathroom, too lazy to try again. In there I managed to take them off of me. I stretched and yawned, then walked into the shower.

I jumped back out when the cold water hit my back. I forgot to wait a few seconds for it to turn warm, seriously? And I thought things couldn't get any worse, I already was in a bad mood. I don't know if it's from yesterday or not, but I'm just going to pretend that none of it happened. Why should I even care?

Today I went for a white shirt with a photo printed on it, it was tucked into my high-waisted black jeans. My hair was in a messy ponytail, and not really caring how it looked in my current mood, I left it at that.

I greeted my parents in the kitchen, as usual, and took off. This morning I ate only a few strawberries I found in the fridge, I wasn't specifically hungry.

When I arrived at the school gates, I entered the building and went to my locker, grabbing the books that I needed for class - Biology. I walked into the classroom and sat down in the same seat I took the previous time. Right next to him.

If I could I would sit anywhere else, but because it wasn'tร‚ย the first day anymore, the seats we sat in last time became permanent. Great.

This was the first time in maybe even months that I've been in a grumpy mood. I don't know why, but I guess that not everything has a reason.

After a while of silently staring at the black board up front, almost every student was present, except one. I bet you can already tell me who. Even the boy that asked me to hang out a few days ago, I think his name is Shawn, was here. Though he didn't even look at me. I wonder why. Maybe he was scared that Grayson would come in-

Just as the thought passed by, the door flew open. Grayson joined and went directly to the back of the class. Before we could make eye contact, I looked down at my desk. Was it going to be awkward between us now?

I felt his glare on me for a second, but then it went away as quick as it came. I don't know if it was his natural expression or if he was angry at someone. What if he's mad at me? But I didn't do anything, did I?

The teacher walked in and I straightened my back. I was already on her bad side for not paying attention in her class, don't want to add 'slouching' to the list.

The class was still talking but quieted down and obliged as the teacher told us to give in the homework we had to do.

Excuse me? I wanted to say. Homework?

I looked around and saw most people take out a page out of their books, it was filled in with answers. I put my curled knuckle against my mouth and bounced my right leg up and down repeatedly. Shoot, shoot, shoot! I didn't even know we had homework!

I felt something light-weighted gently touch my shoulder. I turned around and saw Grayson handing me a loose sheet of paper. I looked at him with furrowed eyebrows, but he remained unyielding.

I took the sheet and looked it over, it was the homework, I think. There were multiple questions standing on there and they were all solved. He gave me his homework. Why is he giving it to me?

I didn't know what to say or do, so I glanced at him and, well yeah, I kind of just stared at him, hoping he'd give me a clue me on what to do with it. "You have to give in the homework." He said it as if it were obvious.

What? My incompetent self still didn't understand. Does he want me to give his homework to the teacher for him? That's a bit lazy of him, but I didn't argue.

I stood up and was about to amble towards Ms. I still don't know her name, but was pulled back steadily by my arm. Grayson blinked at me, not saying anything. I couldn't see if he found this diverting or frustrating.

"Are you not going to write your name on your homework?" he asked me, raising his eyebrowsร‚ย in something that rather looked like enjoyment.ร‚ย Was he laughing at my confused state?

"This isn't my home... I'm sorry, I really don't know what you mean," I stumbled over my own words, my tone soft and pleading.

"I'm giving you my homework, Love," he stated.

When he called me 'Love', I felt a fluttering feeling inside my stomach and blushed. I cleared my throat and only then had everything he said processed through my brain.

"Wait, are you giving me your homework?" I asked him incredulously. He made a small yet evident signal with his head, telling me yes. My lips parted slightly and I swear I saw his gaze flicker to my mouth for a split second before returning to my eyes. "But...what about you?"

He shrugged it off like it was nothing. "She won't get mad at me. Besides, she already despises you," he replied casually.

Did he just... Yup. Arrogant much. But I didn't doubt him, I've never seen a teacher complain about his divided devotion in class.

"Are you sure?" I asked prudently nevertheless. He hummed in response. I nodded and a smile appeared on my face without me noticing. I walked to the front of the class. I gave in myรขย€ย”his homework. I then returned to my seat and faced him, he wasn't looking at me anymore, but out the window. "Thank you...for that," I told him.

"My pleasure," he said, still dreamily looking outside.ร‚ย How on earth could a person be so beautiful? I thought to myself.

"Why did you do it?" I couldn't help but ask, my curiosity was taking over my anxiousness. I just wanted to grasp the fact of why he acted so weirdly yesterday, and today he was unexpectedly caring.

He didn't answer at first, so I thought he was going to ignore me, but then he spoke up. I was shocked by his reply, to say the least. "I didn't want you getting in trouble," he mumbled.

His hair looked so soft. "But...why?" I didn't know how I even dared speaking to him. He always scared the flip out of me.

Again, he didn't reply in a minute of time. He seemed deep in thought, and so I didn't want to bother him again. He already saved my butt today, it's the least I could do.

"I don't know," he finally responded in a delicate voice. For the first time his tone wasn't husky and rough, it was oddly soothing.

This was were our conversation came to an end and the teacher started the lesson. I actually payed attention and took notes of what she explained to us this time, not wanting to fall behind. And possibly also for taking my mind off of a certain person that sat next to me.

-

At lunch, I went toward Natalie's table when her girlfriend motioned for me to come. I sat down in the seat next to her, opposite from Natalie. "Hey, Girl," she greeted.

"Hi," I mumbled, offering a smile. I felt a lot more at home with Natalie than with other people, but I still was shy at times.

"So, yesterday, was everything all good?" she asked me, taking a sip of her soda. Should I tell them?

"Yeah, I sat with Evie and her friends." I came to the decision of not to. It's in the past, and what could they do about it?

"Evie," the girlfriend said. "With the blonde hair?" I simply nodded. She whirred and took a bite of her sandwich. Natalie raised her eyebrows in question.

"We have French class together," she said after a while. "She's pretty nice. Overexcited and hyper at times though." I giggled, silently agreeing with her.

I subconsciously looked over to a certain table, only to find it empty. Hmm, where could they be? Maybe outside at the football bleachers, not that it was any of my concern.

-

I grabbed the necessary stuff out of my locker and turned around. What I didn't expect there to be was a person, so I straight-up bumped into them. I gasped at first.ร‚ย Ow, that hurt! Thenร‚ย I looked up, groaning.

"Logan?" I muttered, rubbing my forehead. He chuckled.

"Well, you seem happy to see me," he said, throwing his arm over my shoulder, like he regularly does when we meet.

"No, I am, but you scared me. What are you doing here?" I asked him. Or was he just casually standing beside my locker?

"Can't I just come and say hello to my favorite mushroom in the world?" he said rhetorically. I grimaced and almost let out a snort.

"Mushroom?ร‚ย Are you calling me a mushroom?" I questioned him. He nudged me jokingly.

"You look like one," came his short reply. How on earth do I look like a mushroom? Does it look like someone collected me out of a forest?

"Are you comparing me to a mushroom, Logan?" I asked disbelievingly.

"Well," he began as soon as he saw my disoriented expression. "For a start, you're tiny."

"Only because you are a literal giant, but you don't see me calling you aร‚ย Coast redwood tree, do you?" I retorted. He looked down at me, his one brow raised and his lips twitching into a lopsided grin. The Coast redwood tree species have the tallest trees on the planet, if you didn't know.

"You should let me finish, Sweetheart. Because secondly, you're just as cute as one," he spoke confidently.

"So...you're calling me the opposite of cute?"

He gasped in fake surprise and put his hand over his heart, mocking the pain. "No, of course not. And how dare you? Mushrooms are adorable!" I rolled my eyes playfully and sighed.

"You sure are one strange boy," I mumbled, looking up at him and sending him a big grin. He wiggled his eyebrows and a smirk rose on his face.

"Don't you mean a man?" I shook my head and laughed, not one hundred percent sure of what he meant, but went with it anyway.

On our way to class, we passed Grayson and Anderson. They were standing at the lockers in the hallway.ร‚ย When did they get here?

We made eye contact for a second and I saw his hands turn into tightly closed fists. What's wrong with him? Now he positively looks mad.ร‚ย Anderson's eyes crossed mine, then went over to look at Grayson. He saw Grayson's stiff posture and a knowing look came onto his face.

Logan didn't even take notice of the two friends by the lockers and nonchalantly continued sauntering forward, while I, on the other hand, kept my gaze on them. Grayson's chest heaved up and down fastly, as if trying to control his breaths.

There wasn't really anything I could do, so I just followed Logan's lead, until I felt his presence get closer to mine. His face was now much nearer to mine then before. He whispered into my ear, "Did you see Grayson?" I guess he did see them.

"Yeah, why?" I asked back. A smile made its way onto his face. I looked up at him skeptically. "What? Tell me," I ordered.

"Wasn't it obvious?" he spoke to me in a tone that told me he found pleasure in this thing that just happened. I shook my head. "He's jealous."

Huh? Did I hear him right?

"Sorry?" I said, hoping he'd further explain.

"He was perfectly fine before, but when he saw you and me together, he flipped," he confirmed his suspicion. I mean, it is true... But it must be the cause of something else.

"He does not like me. At all," I said securely. Everyone could see it, right?

"Whatever you say, Princess."

A/N: I'm still thinking of a name for Natalie's girlfriend. Maybe I should go for Leslie...or idk.
