Chapter 57

Nathaniel

The following morning, I woke up before Lucas . Firstly, I wanted to make breakfast for him and secondly I had work to catch up for tomorrow's presentation .

I place a sloppy kiss on his forehead, pushing his hair off his face . A small smile creeps up on my face when I spot the visible angry hickeys all over his body, moreover his neck . There's no hiding those and it makes me feel proud of myself .

I throw on a clean shirt, with some sweats after a quick shower . Jogging downstairs to find Wylder already drinking his coffee while on his cellphone .

" Good morning!" I greet him happily . Flashing him a wide grin when he  throws one deadly stare towards me .

" For you, it is a good morning . " He rumbles. " Some of us didn't sleep a wink , you were at it the whole fucking night . All I could hear were ' Ah! Don't stop Nathan! There... right there!'" He mimics Lucas'voice.

" Were we that loud?" I chuckle at how Wylder just gives the  'are you seriously going to ask me that ' look .

" Tobias must be traumatized ."  He comments when I pour some coffee for myself from the countertop .

" Shit! Oh shit!"

" Yeah, that's what I thought the whole night long." Wylder mutters" But lucky for you, I put on some of the noise cancelling headsets you bought for him ."

" Oh thank God!" I sigh in relief . God knows how I was going to explain all of those noises we made last night to Tobias .

" Let's just hope he didn't take them off" Wylder eyes me with a smirk .

" Seriously? " I roll my eyes at him . Taking small sips of my coffee . He just chortles and goes back to looking down at his cellphone .

We sit like that for a few minutes until I realise the main reason I got up this early . I quickly start taking out ingredients to make a special breakfast for my special person .

" What are you doing?" Wylder peers at me with no interest in helping, as always .

" Making something for Lucas!" I start by cracking some eggs .

" Was the ass that good that you got up this early, on a Sunday morning, just to make Lucas breakfast?" He raises his brows at me like I have gone crazy .

" It's not like I have never done this for Lucas." I point out.

" Yeah?  I live here full time and this is the first time I have ever seen you make breakfast for Lucas ."

" Just shut up!" I give him the middle finger once I'm done with cracking the three eggs . He just shoots me a knowing smile, shaking his head at my determination to make things perfect for Lucas .

After what felt like over an hour, I'm finally done with making breakfast . I place everything on the tray and steadily walk my way upstairs . Wylder cheering me on silently so he wouldn't wake up Tobias.

I walk in the bedroom to find Lucas already awake, sitting up . I place the food on his side of the nightstand then I take a seat by his side .  The covers over the lower part of his body, another round of hickeys covering his chest and a little swollen from all the sucking and biting I did .

" Good morning, breakfast in bed? Feeling it?" I smile brightly at him . Lucas just stares at the breakfast with no hint of emotion .

" What's wrong? Did I mess up something?" I study his face. He just looks down on his lap, and that's when I realise that he has the small paper his mother gave him in his hands .

" I don't know why but today I feel brave enough to finally meet my father and I'm freaking out. " He mutters anxiously.

" Hey, I will go with you if that will help ." I take his hands into mine . " We are in this together. "

His eyes well up with tears . He nods then accept my hug, that results in his sitting on my lap as he place his head on the crook of my neck . The moment itself has me thinking about the future, and how much I can't imagine it without Lucas in it . I think it's time to make Lucas mine.

LUCAS

" Are you okay?" Nathan asks for the hundredth time as we walk towards the front door of my father's house .

I slowly nod. Fidgeting with the hem of my shirt . " What if...what if he rejects me?" I look over Nathan .

" Then that's his loss . " He shrugs. Pulling me into a side tight hug " I'm here with you through every step of the way . Whatever happens . I will be with you ." He takes my hand and leads the way .

Somehow that is enough to keep my nerves from spiralling out . He is the one to knock . I stand there . Breathing in and out, pushing back the negative thoughts that only make me feel more worse about myself .

The door swings open to reveal none other than Axel . I take a step back in shock and mostly in confusion . What is he doing here? . I glance over Nathan for answers. He looks as surprised as I am .

" Umhm hi?" Axel folds his arms . Looking between Nathan and I . " What are you two doing here?" . He sneers .

" We should be asking you the same thing . " Nathan snaps .

" Wait are you..." he intently looks at me.  " Are you the 'Lucas' my uncle was going on and on about?" He questions coldly.

" Yeah?" I furrow my brows . Trying to get my brain to comprehend the fact that my father is related to Axel. Out of so many people, it just had to be him .

" Axel, is that them?" A high pitched voice calls out . My heart skips a beat. Hearing my father's voice for the first time.

" Yeah!" Axel replies him. Stepping aside with a blank face. Nathan and I enter the warm house . Even from the sound of pots in the kitchen and the classical background music, I could tell that this home is made out of love. Filled with it . I just don't get why someone as cold as Axel could be part of this .

" Come in here!" The same chirpy voice calls out through the hallway that leads to a kitchen . Axel just trails behind us . Nathan occasionally squeezes my hand , reminding me that he is here with me . I really appreciate it .

When my eyes land on the man who my mother said he was my father, every part of my body feels frozen. Not only is he excited to see me, he hugs me and tells me all about how thrilled he is to see me. The confusing part is because of the fact that he doesn't seem like how I imagined him. He looks like the exact copy of me, except he has striking blue eyes and freaky auburn hair .

" I have been dying to finally meet you ." He says , pulling away from the hug .

" You knew about me?" I ask . Feeling like the dumb one in the room . I thought he didn't even know that I existed .

" Of course I did! I watched you grow from afar . I tried getting custody of you while you were a few months old but I failed miserably . Let's just say, the court favors mother's more than fathers . " He mumbles .

" Oh" that's all I manage to say . What is there to say anyways? . " This is uh-- my boyfriend ." I say, smiling over Nathan .

" Nice to meet you boyfriend " The man teases . Making Nathan chuckle a little .

" It is Nathan to you Sir. " Nathan jokes . The man raises his brows, simpering when he meets my flushed face .

" I like him ." He winks at me . " And I'm Keith Jarrett, the man I assume you have been looking for high and low?' He motions for us to follow him into the living room .

" Yeah .."

" You must have heard a lot of rumours about me and I bet the top one is , 'i was a rapist?'" He plops down across from us with a huge smile on his face .

I just shrug " At the end, I was told you were dead too . So I could say, I have heard worse ."

" Oh Lucas!" He laughs softly " You have a lot to learn about me . First things first, how's my grandson?" He looks from my shocked face to Nathan's amused face with a grin on his face .

" What do you not know about us? About me?" I ask him the nagging question that pops up in my mind .

" I know everything about you, you are my son . " He shakes his head warily " My only son ." He adds with a sad tone .

Not liking how this moment is turning emotional already, I start telling him all about Tobias . From the first time I held him to his 6th birthday, His mood instantly became cheerful . He listens attentively, asks appropriate questions and Nathan even shows him every picture we ever took together with Tobias . By the time dinner was ready, the mood had been lifted a tad.
