Contract Marriage With The Disabled CEO
Chapter 71âAre You Testing My Willpower?
âNo!â
Betty screamed and pushed Kerwin away.
Surprised by her violent resistance, Kerwin stomped several steps back.
He raised his head, only to see a hint of fear on her flushed face and in her limpid eyes.
In no time, his fervency was dampened, and his body cooled down.
Betty realized her rashness, flashed a guilty look, and approached Kerwin in a gingerly way. âIâm sorryâ¦
I had a flashback⦠to two years agoâ¦â
What happened back then was Bettyâs worst nightmare.
Her most precious thing was lost that night, and her reputation was tarnished.
For a long time, she couldnât get close to any man. Even shaking hands would upset her.
She had licked her wounds and thought that she could open her heart to Kerwin.
When it came to the critical moment, however, instinct drove her to resist him!
Her guilt was beyond words as she saw Kerwinâs eyes turning cold again.
Probably, in Kerwinâs mind, she was playing hard-to-get. They were married, and she had agreed. At the last second, however, she shut hirn down.
No man can stand this kind of rejection.
At that, she gritted her teeth and ventured to lean over. She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him, trying to rekindle his passion.
Kerwin scooped her up and put her on the bed.
Thinking that he was going to resume the intimacy, Betty braced herself to get ready. She didnât want to push Kerwin away again.
She waited for a long time, but Kerwin didnât x make further moves. He just picked up the blanket and covered her with it.
Betty asked in shock; âAre you mad?â
Kerwin sat down on the edge of the bed, looked down at Betty with calm eyes, and replied, âNo.â
âThen why wouldnât youâ¦â
âContinue?â Kerwin whispered, brushing Bettyâs cheek with his slender fingers. âBecause I hope youâll enjoy it rather than endure it for the sake of me.â
He had reactions to Bettyâs body. He couldnât deny it. In fact, his reactions were strong.
He didnât continue because he really cared about Betty. After all, it felt awful for a man to retain his lust like that.
He cared about Bettyâs feelings.
He didnât want their first try to become a terrible experience for her.
If he did that, what was the difference between the man from two years ago and him?
Betty hadnât expected such a remark from Kerwin. For a moment, a certain spot of her heart was touched.
Men were different from women. lora woman, she was willing to sacrifice everything for her beloved man. Aman would endure this only when he truly cared about his woman.
Her eyes twinkled as she curled up under the soft blanket. Her taut nerves relaxed. âThank you.â
Kerwin chuckled, stood up, walked to the table, and sat down in the chair. âYouâll sleep on the bed tonight.â
Belly was stunned. âWhat about you? Are you going to stay up?â
âIâm fine. The bed is too small, and there is only one blanket.â
Betty frowned and said, âAlthough the bed is hall, we can squeeze up. Come and sleep with me.â
Kerwin looked at her. The expression in his eyes was inexplicable. âBetty, are you challenging my willpower?â
Betty stiffened at his question.
She had almost forgotten about it. Kerwin was titillated but failed to get to the third base. Probably, he was suffering now, and she invited him to sleep with her.
Sure enough, she was unobservant.
Betty didnât dare to say another word. Instead, she wrapped herself up in the blanket and lay flat.
In the study, Bruce was pacing back and forth.
As soon as Peter returned, he hurried over and asked, âHow is it? Has anything Both of them are in the room, but Iâve no idea of the situation.â Peter was being honest. There was no way he dared to cavesdrop on Kerwin.
Old Bruce nodded and sighed. âI just hope that Iâll soon have a great-grandson. Then I can rest my mind at case.â
âSir, donât worry too much,â Peter said in a prim tone.
âRight.â Old Bruceâs face fell as something crossed his mind. âabout the photos today, have you figured out anything?â
Those indecent photos were displayed on such a grand occasion. Whether the other party aimed to humiliate the Martin family or Betty, it was unbearable.
Peter nodded and replied, âYeah, it was Jeffreyâs fiancée, Emily.â
Not surprised, Old Bruce sneered, âI knew it. That girl is vicious.â
Keeping a poker face, Peter said, âThe cause with trace back to Miss Whiteâs and Jeffreyâs school days.â
Old Bruce nodded and sighed. âThe nephew and uncle fall in love with the same woman. What a disaster!â
âMiss White is now the only woman Kerwin cares for, so youâll support them no matter what.â As Old Bruceâs confidant, Peter knew his thoughts.
âIndeed.â The tired old man rubbed his brows. âTell Jeffrey about what happened.â
âWonât you handle it in person?â
âHumph, a callow girl is not worth my attention.â Old Bruce sneered. âIf Jeffrey canât even keep his woman in check, he is not worthy to be a Martin!â
âGot it.â Peter left the study and went on his mission.
Old Bruce walked to the bed and looked at the moon outside. The smile Kerwin gave when he held.
Betty to dance resurfaced in Bruceâs Wald. His wrinkled face softened.
So many years had passed⦠Since he last saw Kerwin smile like that. 3.
God must pity Kerwin as a woman was sent over to cheer him up.
Old Bruce just hoped that their love would soon bear fruit.
While Bruce was restless with anxiety, the atmosphere in the room upstairs had cooled down.
Kerwin rested his head on his hand and sat there in repose with his eyes closed.
It was late at night, but Betty lost sleep. After a while, she broke the silence. âKerwin, I canât sleep. Talk with me.â
Without opening his eyes, Kerwin asked in a bland tone, âAbout what?â
âWellâ¦â Betty thought for a while and said, âHow does your grandpa know⦠that we havenât consummated our marriage?â
