Chapter 42 Her Sister’s Threat Although Betty and Emily were half-sisters, they had grown up in different environments and rarely saw each other, so they were estranged from each other.

“That’s why I was worried about Gianna once I heard that her medical bills had increased. I wondered how I could help you.”

Betty sneered. “So how?”

“I happen to know a girl who owns a magazine. And her company lacks the staff, and the pay is very good.” Emily finally said what she came for.” You are so talented. If you work there, you’ll get better pay than you do now.”

Emily wanted me to resign from Filson Magazine to avoid getting back together with Jeffrey.

After figuring out Emily’s motive, Betty sneered. “Emily, are you so worried that Jeffrey and I will get back together?”

Emily’s face turned pale when she heard Betty say such frank words.

She bit her red lips and said, “Betty, what are you talking about? How could I possibly worry about a married woman like you who sleeps around for money?”

Betty’s face stiffened for a moment.

It was predictable that Emily would say the cruelest and meanest words in such a sweet tone.

Betty said in an icy tone, “Emily, whatever your motive is for introducing me to this job, I won’t accept it.”

She knew Emily too well. And she didn’t believe she would be treated any better if she worked at that new magazine. Besides, she was afraid that Emily would control and bully her.

After being rejected by Betty, Emily looked furious and said in an angry tone, “Betty, how dare you!”

“Oops, you’re pissed off so soon!” Betty sneered. “Don’t worry. I’m not interested in Jeffrev at all.
