Armani jolted up in her bed at 3 A.M from yet another nightmare from the day with the police. She had left her grandmother's place 2 days after the incident after she convinced her grandma she was fine— her grandma didn't really believe her but she let her go do her own thing and hopefully feel better soon enough.

Armani sat up on the bed breathing hard thinking about who to call— Monty wasn't an option with his hoe ass, Akeem was probably with Azari, and Azari was probably getting her back blowned by Akeem— running out of options, she sighs and clicks on Nasir.

The phone rang and the more it did the more nervous she had gotten. He finally answers on the 5th ring which shocked Armani.

"Hey...sorry for waking you, I just ain had nobody to talk to, or at least anybody that'd understand." Armani spoke softly.

"Nah you good, wassup? What happened?" Asked Nasir in his sleep filled voice.

"Its gonna sound dumb now if I say it out loud." She mumbled.

"Huh? Speak up ma." He said.

"Its gon sound dumb."

"You ain' neva gotta worry bout me callin you dumb unless you actually is dumb." He said. "Tell me what happened tho, you straight? Hadda bad dream? Can't sleep?"

Armani sighed as she told him everything that was on her mind from her mothers death to the police brutality that went down days ago to how she felt she didn't do enough. He listened, he never interrupted, he just let her get all her emotion out which is all she needed.

"Ma I can relate, in all honesty when I say I can relate I mean it. I lost my brother when I was 13 to police brutality, folks wouldn't leave him alone talm bout he stole from the sto', my bruva ain't neva had to steal shit so that was mad wild. I rememba' it was a white lady that did the shit too, she the one that called the cops and gave a description that sounded like him. The cops came to tha house after finding him claiming that he "matched the description"and dragged him out beating him on the streets. They shot my dad fa tryna defend him but my pops survived and come to find out, they sent my bruva to Rikers— the police aint never find shit on him and the judge knew that but his white ass sentenced him anyways. They kept him in solitary fo no reason, gave him little to nun to eat, and when they let him outta solitary... he ended up dying from getting beat to death for refusing to join a gang.Errytime we wanted to come see him they gave us some bullshit ass excuse and come to find out he was dead for months and ain't nobody tell us—that shit was probably the most foul, hurtful, and eye opening thing I ever went through and that fucked my head up but that really showed me, the police is not here to protect and serve. If you not white, it ain't right and if you not white then you not free. Ma the system isn't built to protect us, its just there for us to fight and somehow survive."

"The world is just a fucked up ass place." Said Armani sniffling a lil bit. "I'm sorry for your lost, thats soooo fucked up."

"I know ma, no need to cry though, I learned to live with it and it wasn't nobody fault but the fucked up ass system." He said sounding like he was gon cry himself. "I know I was suppose to make you feel better but ian wanna fill your head with lies like "shit gon change" when I know shit ain't gon change for a long while."

"Yeah I know and I appreciate you for that." She said shocked to see that it was almost 6 A.M.

"So you good?"

Armani smiled big, something he always managed to make her do. "Yeah I'm good."

"Good, now that I'm up whatchu got planned fa today?" He asked.

Armani bit her lip in contemplation looking around her room as she sat up on her king sized bed. "I don't even know to be honest with you, I might just paint to be honest."

"Mind if I slide thru? Its okay if you say no cause I know you enjoy your peace."

Armani once again smiled big as she contemplated between saying yes or no.

"Yeah you can slide thru, let me know when you get here." She said.

"Aight ma, let me hop in the shower and i see you in bout 30 mins to a hr."

"Mkay, byee." She said.

"Bye lil momma." She hung up.

Armani got up from bed not even feeling as tired as she once did. She went to her bathroom, brushed her teeth, and hopped in the shower since she slept naked. She lathered up with her cocoa butter shower gel and washed up for about 20-30 minutes before getting out. She dried her body off, put lotion on, and walked to her closet looking for something to wear— she thought about it then realized that she was in the house so fuck was she getting dressy for— she picked out a black cropped tank top not giving a fuck that her nipples were poking visibly, she slipped on a pink lace thong, and then lastly some grey tights she had got from Victoria secret that made her ass sit right.

After that she wasn't feeling real hungry so she just ate some cereal. She then lit up her blunt that she always put beside her canvas and held it between her lips. She commanded Alexa to play some music and soon It was a good day by Ice cube filled her speakers.  She opened her windows to her patio and faced her canvas in the direction of the natural light— she picked up her paintbrush thinking about what to draw before eventually she started stroking along her canvas. About 10 minutes into her painting, her phone rang and it was Nasir— she buzzed him in, put out her blunt, and then she went downstairs to bring him upstairs.

"Wassup?" He said holding a Chick-fil-A bag as she approached him.

"Awwe you bought me food, you so sweet." She half joked.

"Nah this mine, you trippin." He said making her face fall into a pout.

"I'm jokin ma, of course I did." He said.

"You the best." She cheesed.

"I try I try." He smiled at her, something about Armani smile just made him smile even when he didn't feel like it.

The two embraced each other and like usual, he wrapped his arms around the small of her back right above her ass which he noticed sat right in her tights.

"You smell mad good ma," he complimented making her smile.

One thing she loved, was being complimented on the way she smelled.

"Thank you." She said. "Lets go." She grabbed his hand and led him to the elevators up to her room.

"Whatchu was doin before I got here?" He asked as the two sat down and ate while watching Everybody Hates Chris.

"Just painting," she shrugged. "Nothing really."

"Talented ass, one of these days imma get you to paint for my tattoo place." He said.

She shrugged shyly. "Thats cool."

"What was you painting?" He asked.

"I don't even know, I just draw whatever comes to mind," she shrugged.

"Let me watch you do your thang then miss lady." He said making her look at him.

"The process is mad long, i dont wanna bore you when theres more entertaining shit you could be doin." She spoke softly.

"I told you ma, there ain't shit you can do that will bore me, even when the shit is mad boring, when you around you just keep me calm and I need calm." He said making her blush. "Do your thang ma."

She looked at him, sighed, and walked up to her canvas slowly because if she didn't, she'd definitely trip over her own two feet.

She relit her blunt and called to Alexa and soon Candy Rain by Soul for Real filled the speakers while she painted.

"This my shit," he said. "Myy love, do you...ever dream of candy coated raindrops? You're the same, my candy rain."

She smiled as she painted and listened to him sing every song that played for the couple of hours it took for her to paint her canvas. The two had an undeniable vibe that grew stronger with connection each and every time they were together. It was getting more and more obvious that they were feenin' for each other, and couldn't nobody change that.
