Chapter 42
My Weak Wife Is a Real Goddess
âNo.â Zoey cried and shook her head. âBrother Samuel, itâs all my fault. It has nothing to do with Lucille.
Not to mention, the situation got a bit out of hand today. There were even reporters here.â
âIsnât that even better?â Samuel asked.
With hatred in his tone, he continued, âItâs time for more people to know how horrible Lucille really is!
When the reporters release the news, Iâll hire people to add fuel to the fire. Iâll avenge you!â
He successfully comforted Zoey and made her amused. She blinked her innocent eyes and said, âOkay. Youâre the best, Samuel. However, you have to promise me that you canât make any more trouble for Lucille.â
âGot it.â Samuel shook his head and sighed. With a doting look on his face, he said, âYouâre too kind.
Thatâs why you keep getting bullied by her.â
âNo matter what, weâre still sisters in the end. Even though weâre not related by blood, I see Lucille as my younger sister. So, as her elder sister, I have to be more tolerant of her,â Zoey replied.
She lowered her eyes, and her expression was full of innocence.
However, triumph flashed across her face where Samuel couldnât see.
Once the interview video was released, Lucille would definitely get bashed by everyone.
She wanted to see how Lucille would be able to turn things around this time.
Lucille was still in Josephâs car when the reporters, who had received the money, edited the video and came up with a title.
She asked, âDo you have any updates on the search?â
Culver, who was driving in the front row, immediately answered, âWe have already gone through all the people who donât have identification cards in the cities that you listed. We are currently checking them one by one to see if there is a girl named Molly among them. It is estimated that it will take a few days.â
Lucille nodded. âThank you for your hard work.â
Quickly, he said, âYouâre too kind. This is just our responsibility.â
She looked down and didnât say anything else.
Suddenly, she heard Joseph say, âAre you free tomorrow? Grandma wants to see you.â
Grandma? Madam Collins?
Lucille was stunned for a moment. Before she could respond, she saw a faint grin on Josephâs face.
Slowly, he added, âGrandma said that she wanted to ask you what kind of wedding you would like in person.â
However, that wasnât all. Madam Collins was so happy over getting a granddaughter-in-law overnight that she hadnât gotten any sleep. She also gathered the whole family to discuss what name they would choose for their future children.
She was already thinking so far ahead in the future.
Lucille was speechless.
She thought for a moment and responded, âOkay. What time tomorrow?â
âIâll pick you up at ten oâclock in the morning,â he stated.
âNo problem.â
Lucille readily agreed.
Not long after, the car stopped in front of the new villa that she had bought.
The two of them got out of the car one after the other.
Lucille uttered, âThank you for sending me back. Goodbye.â
She did not intend to invite him in. After all, the relationship between her and Joseph was only part of a deal. Putting on an act in front of others was to be expected, but there was no need for them to interfere in each otherâs lives.
Joseph raised his eyebrows. Before he could even complain about how she was drawing such a clear line between them, he saw that the door of the villa was suddenly opened. Madam Dahlia was stunned when she saw him. Then, she offered him a warm invitation.
âMr. Joseph? Oh, youâre here, Mr. Joseph. Please come in. Iâve made some food!â
A smile blossomed on Madam Dahliaâs face like a flower.
Joseph smiled. He walked past Lucille, into the villa. He also politely added, âHow can I decline such a kind offer? In that case, Iâll have to trouble you all.â
Lucille didnât know what to say.
Culver, who was standing behind him, wanted to slap himself, but he quickly followed after them for fear that he would be locked outside the door by Lucille.
Lucille shook her head helplessly and walked into the villa.
