Chapter 87
I’ll Be The Warrior’s Mother
The instant the merchantâs legs weakened and sank onto the floor, he saw Kaywhin aim the sword towards the lion.
Knowing that it was a fake sword, the merchant contemplated and then opened his mouth.
At that moment, a scream popped out.
âNâ¦!â
Kaywhin, who jumped lightly from his spot, deeply inserted the sword into the forehead of the angry lion.
The two syllables of ânoâ could not come out of the merchantâs mouth and disappeared halfway.
The sword pierced through the lower jaw of the black lion and was deeply embedded in the forehead, leaving only the handle.
The staggering lion collapsed and slumped as if dying.
As soon as Kaywhin landed on the floor, he asked Yelena.
âAre you all right?â
ââ¦Iâm okay.â
After answering vaguely, Yelena glanced at the merchant.
She was honestly fine. She was surprised, but that was all.
In fact, the one who didnât look the best here was the merchant.
The middle of the merchantâs trousers was damp.
ââ¦â
Yelena looked away.
Staring at it for too long would be bad for both of them.
The beast that abruptly hit the festival street was a lion who escaped from the circus.
Dozens of people belatedly rushed out to capture the lion, but the situation was already over.
It was unclear who reported it, but the territoryâs police department also flocked around.
The circus troupe would not be able to avoid punishment for this incident.
Fortunately, there were no casualties, but it was only thanks to Kaywhin. If it wasnât for him, at least three or four would have died and got injured.
âUndoubtedly, the merchant would have died.â
He seemed to have given up on conducting further business today.
âThe lion is bigger than I thought.â
After the situation was all over, Yelena moved from her spot and stated.
Yelena had a new experience today.
She had never attended a circus. So this was her first time seeing a real lion.
The real lion was much larger than what she vaguely imagined.
It seemed that if it opened its mouth to the fullest, it could devour at least one person alive.
This was why people claimed that wild beasts were as large as houses.
Again, Yelena learned a new thing.
Instead of agreeing or responding to Yelenaâs words, Kaywhin only stared at her quietly.
Yelena, who read the concern from observing his gaze, stopped walking and spoke.
âKaywhin, I told you a while ago, Iâm fine.â
ââ¦â
âYou donât seem to believe me. Do you think Iâm lying?â
âItâs nothing like thatâ¦â
âI know. It was a difficult situation to be in.â
Yelena was aware of that.
If she were a weak person, she might have fainted on the spot a while ago.
It was such a dangerous and terrifying situation.
Yelena understood that with her mind, but she was definitely all right. To the point where she wondered why she was even feeling fine.
âBut Iâm not forcibly pretending to be okay. Iâm really okay. Honestly, Iâm truly fine.â
ââ¦â
âIâve been thinking about it, and I think itâs because of you.â
ââ¦You mean me?â
âYes. I had faith that you would do something.â
Yelena looked back on the situation from a moment ago.
She was surprised by the sudden situation, but she was not scared or anxious.
It was because Kaywhin was there.
That was probably why.
âI suppose that belief was bigger and deeper than I thought. Especially if you consider how safe I feel.â
ââ¦â
âSo donât worry. Rather, what I care about right now isâ¦â
Yelena came to her senses late and shut her mouth.
Kaywhin was currently not wearing an outer garment.
The lionâs blood splattered onto it, so he had taken it off the spot and thrown it away.
In other words, he was only wearing one perfectly fitted shirt.
Thanks to this, Yelenaâs gaze seemed to have found a place to get lost in, and her gaze would periodically linger on Kaywhinâs chest and then randomly at the air.
âI canât even say that your chest muscles are all I care about right now.â
She almost became too honest. It was dangerous.
Yelena fumbled, inwardly attempting to calm her heart.
âAhem! Well, anyways. The bottom line is that Iâm really fine. Itâs true, so believe me. Okay?â
ââ¦All right.â
In response to Kaywhinâs response, Yelena smiled brightly.
She automatically tried to hold Kaywhinâs hand but noticed that both her hands were holding food.
âOh right. To hold hands, I have to pass one back to my husband.â
Yelena was about to give the fruit skewer back to Kaywhin butâ¦
âAre you ignoring me right now?ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
A shrill voice intervened between the two.
