CHAPTER FIFTEEN

DYLAN'S P.O.V

Finding them in that horrible position did get me worried for once cause I do not know what is going on but I intend to find out soon rather than later. Because I am pretty sure that something is definitely wrong with my mate.

" What the hell is going on?" I asked ignoring his question.

Matt doesn't answer cause he is still out of breath.

Trevor looks confused.

" Someone needs to tell me something". I demand this time.

" NOW!" I yell the last part.

Making both Trevor and Matt flinch cause of my loud voice.

" Trevor has been having trouble with his hunter's side", Matt says taking a step closer to his brother.

" Trouble? How so?" I ask not knowing what he meant by that.

" I think his hunter's side is activated when you marked him". Matt replies again.

Not a single word came out of Trevor's mouth or even his eyes meeting mine.

" Trev...." I start.

" I am not okay", He says meeting my eyes for the first time and his eyes are watery. " I don't know what to do and am terrified".

" Hey it's okay", I take a step toward him but he only steps back that made me halt in confusion and hurt.

" No. No, it is not okay", He shouts. " None of this is okay. I don't want to hurt anyone. I don't want to hurt you".

" We will figure this out together", I say taking another step but this time I manage to reach him. I reach for his face as I wipe an escaped tear from his cheek. " I promise".

He lets out a loud sigh," I am so tired. I haven't slept for two days because I am afraid to sleep. I am afraid when I sleep, my hunter's side will wake up and hurt someone and that someone might be you".

I frown as I look directly at his eyes noticing the black circles around his eyes. " Why didn't you say something".

" I don't know", He sniffs. " I didn't want to worry you".

Great now am the horrible mate who doesn't even notice when his mate isn't sleeping.

" Trevor it is my job to worry about you. My job is to know how you feel. My job is to know if your happy or sad. It is my job cause you are my mate. Mine".

He throws his hands around me hugging me so tight as if I will vanish as he breaks down into tears. Looking all vulnerable and hurt, which makes my heart hurt too.

'Did we do this to our mate?' Luke whimpers loudly in my head.

'Maybe'. I sadly respond to him.

'We knew what will happen the moment we mate but we did it anyway'. Luke growls.

'We didn't know it would be like this'. I argued.

Before he could say another word I block him from my mind cause I can't focus on him right now. Its time for me to take care of my mate.

So I decided to take him to his room and convince him to take a sleep even just for a few hours.

" I will be here with you until you fall asleep, am not going anywhere".

Few attempts of trying to get him to sleep he finally did sleep. So I get out of the room as quietly as I could and go downstairs looking for Matt so I could get some explanations on what had happened before.

Reaching the living room I find everyone Damien, Travis, Max, Mark, Matt, Chris, Avery, Nick, Jordan, Alex, and Myron. Sensing my presence they all turn to look at me.

" I called them", Matt says after seeing my confused face.

" Is he okay?" Alex worries.

" He is asleep for now, we might as well keep it down". I say finishing the last step.

" What happened?" Travis asks holding Damien so close to him.

" I intend to find out myself", I say looking at Matt for answers.

Matt clears his throat, " Well when everyone was gone, he told me about him having trouble with sleeping and he thinks that his hunter's side is awakening. So I took some of my books about hunters which I have in the trailer and we started to research in order to know what is happening to him. Everything was fine until-" He trails looking at the ground scratching at the back of his head.

" Until what?" Max asks beating me to it.

" Until when we decided to experiment". He replies looking at everyone.

" Experiment?" Alex asks beating me to it again.

" Yes experiment", He stretches his hands to grab the book that was on the table. " There is a part where it says that his subconscious needs to bond or interact with  his conscious in order for him to be able to control this. Otherwise, he will be like a person who sleepwalks and hunt people".

" And you decided to experiment that on your own?" Mark half shouts.

" Yes, it was more like hypnosis in order to speak to his hunter's side", Matt replies quietly.

" He would have killed you". Mark shouts this time.

" We didn't know if it would have been that bad". Matt tries to reason.

After a moment of silence trying to sink in the information.

" Why is your hunter's side not awakening?" I ask directly to Travis.

" What?" Damien asks as if not expecting my question to be direct to his mate.

" You have marked and mated with him. So why is he okay?" I ask again.

" Yeah, I have been asking myself the same question", Jordan says taking a step towards Travis. " May I". He raises his hand towards Travis's head but asks permission from Damien if he could touch his mate.

Damien just nods his head for approval.

Jordan hands reaches Travis's head and starts to enchant something in different language until his hands starts to glow and fade at the same time. After a minute he removes his hands and steps back looking at Travis.

" Well?" Damien asks.

" He is hunter free or almost". Jordan says.

" Meaning?" Nick asks.

" It means your hunter's side is fading and quickly", He says looking at our confused faces before he continues to explain. " When the witch, Jeff did the spell you were young, so young that the hunter's side was still strong but it has been years and the hunter's side has been dormant for so long that it started to fade on its own. But I can try to resurface it if you want".

" NO!" Both Damien and Travis shout at the same time making everyone to jump on their reaction.

" Okay then, I won't". Jordan says moving away from them taking a seat on the couch next to Alex.

After a few minutes of discussing without a solution, everyone started to engage in different conversations with one another. Not knowing what to do, I walk away from the living room to the kitchen cause I just want to be alone.

" Talk to me", I hear Avery's voice from behind me.

" What?" I ask him as I take a seat on top of the kitchen counter so I could face him.

" Talk to me. I know your hurting so talk to me". He insists again as he also takes a seat on one of the stools at the kitchen island table so we could face each other.

" I have nothing to say", I comb back my hair using my fingers as I try to make a brave face.

He smiles, " Heartbeat bro. Heartbeat"

Not making any movement indicating that I will talk any time soon, he stands up and starts to head for the door but before he reaches he turns to face me once again.

" I know that I am not Alex but still am your brother too, who worries about you and I am a good listener too, so maybe you should try to talk to me too", He says sounding so hurt as he starts to walk again.

" I know", I say getting his attention. " I know that your my brother and am sorry for making you feel like I can't talk to you. But it is just easier with Alex".

" I will go get Alex then".

" Avery", I call for him but he was gone.

The thing is that Alex and I are really close that we were spending a lot of our time together before Trevor had shown up. We considered our self as Duo before Avery and Jordan joined our family. It has always been Alex and me although we started on the wrong foot. So I always thought that Avery and Jordan are also their own duo cause they are always with one another until Matt showed up. Instead, I have been hurting Avery's feelings all along cause I only talk to ALEX and not to all my brothers.

" I hear you are looking for me", Alex says entering the kitchen.

" I messed up".

" With Trevor?"

" No, Avery"

" What happened?"

TREVOR'S P.O.V

I wake up to a dark room, looking around barely seeing anything but I did notice that Dylan is not here with me. So I get out of bed and walk towards the door and open it, that is when being greeted by the sound of people talking downstairs.

I walk to the stairs when I am met with Ty and Maxine running upwards.

" Uncle Trev", Ty rushes towards me as he engulfs me into a hug which Maxine follows and becomes a group hug.

" Hey", I say stumbling backward as I steady myself.

" Are you okay?" Ty asks as we pull apart.

" Yeah, why?"

" Dad said you were not feeling good" Ty says folding his hands across his chest.

" I am okay". I ruffle his hair which he only smiles.

" Okay, we will be in my room if you need anything". For that, they run towards Ty's room.

Reaching at the living room I find everyone in a deep conversation, but suddenly died down when they noticed my presence.

" Hey", Mark and Max greet in unison.

" Hey" I smile. " By your presence, I believe Matt told you guys of what had happened?"

" Yes he did. Which was stupid and dangerous". Travis says annoyingly.

" But still we are looking for a solution", Dylan says as he comes to stand beside me.

" We already did get the solution". I say getting everyone's attention.

When we were looking at the books earlier Matt and I did get a solution but it was the last resort and only if it is the last hope and which by the look of it, it is the only solution a very bad solution.

" What do you mean by that?" Alex asks.

I look at Matt for support which he only nods for me to say it, " As we were researching we stumbled on a location on one of the hunters campsite, so maybe if -"

" Absolutely not!" Dylan growls making me flinch.

But I don't think everyone did catch up on what I was saying so I tried to explain. " It will be only for a few days until I learn the ways of being a hunter".

" Excuse me", Max half yelled.

Looks like everyone is on board now.

" You want to go and stay with them? Are you insane?" Mark yells.

" No am not insane, just listen to me", I try to reason with them.

" No, no...you can't just go and stay with them, they are bad people". Alex protests.

" What if you became one of them?" Chris adds.

" No I won't. I will just be learning on how to control it". I reason again.

" Hey guys maybe you should try to listen to him for-" Matt starts before he was interrupted.

" Don't even try to say anything", Mark growls at Matt which he only backs away.

" Maybe he is right", Travis speaks for the first time since the argument begun.

" What?" I whisper.

" He could go and stay with the hunters and learn few things from them and when he thinks he is ready then he will come back and teach Ty cause I believe he is a hunter too and his powers are not dormant". Travis says looking at everyone but me.

" So you want my brother to go and die?" Max asks very quietly but with a serious tone.

" He is my brother too", Travis frowns.

" I am not going to die and am everyone's brother ", I say.

" Yes Trev, that is what is going to happen when they find out that you are not just a hunter but you are marked to someone that they have been hunting for their entire life".  Mark yells.

" Do you even remember what happened to Alex when he took off by himself?" Dylan asks.

" Yes I do and I am not Alex".

" Exactly, he is a Vampire with healing ability and you....you are just a human". He shouts this time making everyone go quiet.

" I am a HUNTER okay, a hunter", I shout back cause I am tired of them thinking that I am weak.

" I know that. And I promised to help you through that. Why can't you just let me help?" Dylan asks as he takes my hands into his. " Please let me help".

I stare at him not knowing what to say that I won't break his heart more than I already have.

" I am a hunter Dylan and a very lousy one who hunts supernatural beings in their sleep. I can't keep leaving in fear knowing that one day I might pass out and never wake up in time and the moment I came to I already kill each and every one of you. I will not leave like that".

" You are not just a hunter Trev.

You are a human first.

Human Trev.

MY HUMAN".
