Chapter 126
Back to the Past: Breaking the Love Spell
Francis turned to head to the driverâs seat.
âMr. Zahn, wait! Iâll call Sunny right now and have him come over to show you the units!â Bill hurried
forward to place a hand on the door. It wasnât like he would come across fools like Carlisle every day.
He
couldnât let him get away!
up
He quickly called Sunnyâs personal number. When the first call went unanswered, he followed with a
second. It still went unanswered.
Finally, someone answered on his seventh try. Sunny sounded cold as he asked, âWhy are you still
calling me, Bill?
Bill could sense Sunnyâs anger even over the phone. He laughed ingratiatingly and said, âI was a fool
earlier, Sunny. Hurry up and come back to work!â
Capable salespeople were gods to a company that required salesmen to stay afloat. As long as Sunny
could close this deal with Carlisle, Bill was willing to get on his knees and beg for forgiveness if
necessary.
After a moment of silence, Sunny asked, âIs Mr. Cig there?â
âYes, yes. He specifically said he would only sign the contract with you!â Bill had deliberately stepped
away from Carlisle and Francis when calling Sunny. He was now about 60 feet from them.
Sunny hesitated, then sighed. âFine. Iâll head over there right now.â
He wasnât heading back there for the job. He just wanted to fulfill Carlisleâs need to purchase property.
Since Carlisle had specifically asked for him to be there, it was apparent he wanted to help. Sunny
didnât
want to let Carlisle down.
âDonât say anything about me firing you, okay?â Bill asked.
âI know what to do.â Sunny hung up and left the house.
Meanwhile, Carlisle leaned against the car door with his arms crossed. Francis approached him after
finishing a cigarette and tried to talk some sense into him again. âBoss, the property here has no room
for appreciation. You really should reconsider this!â
âIâve already th
already thought things through,â Carlisle turned to look at the dated streets as a confident smile
crept over his face.
âWell, youâre the boss. You call the shots!â Francis shrugged. âDonât say I didnât warn you if you ever
regret
this decision.â
Carlisle smiled without saying a word. He checked his watch and saw that half an hour had already
passed. He would probably return to campus late, so he called Susan to let her know. She didnât say
anything much since he didnât have any classes in the afternoon.
Bill bought three cans of Red Bull and handed one each to Carlisle and Francis before opening his
own.
After taking two gulps, he asked with a smile, âWhat sort of business do you do, Mr. Zahn?â
âI run a game studio.â
âOh, you mean an arcade?â Bill was from the older generation and hadnât really played games before.
Hel knew that many people visited arcades in recent years, though. He thought that was what Carlisle
meant.
âYeah.â Carlisle didnât have too good an impression of Bill and couldnât be bothered to explain further.
Bill could tell Carlisle wasnât too fond of him. He smiled awkwardly and glanced at the path Sunny had
to take to get to the company. âItâs been ages. Why isnât he here yet?â
Carlisle said, âThereâs no rush. Iâm free the whole afternoon.â
After about ten minutes, Sunny finally showed up at the end of the street while pushing his bicycle. It
was a bout of bad luckâthe chain had snapped while heâd been on his way.
He locked the bicycle and jogged over to Carlisle. Holding out a hand, he said, âNice to meet you, Mr.
Cig. Iâm Sunny Little!â
Carlisle shook his hand. âCig isnât my surname. Itâs Zahn.â
âGood day, Mr. Zahn!â Sunny smiled.
Carlisle returned the smile.
Sunny
chow me the units.â
nodded and looked at Bill. âLend me your car, Mr. Dawson.â
Bill was about to pull out the keys when Carlisle said, âYou can just take my car.â
Francis had already gotten into the driverâs seat. Sunny hurriedly opened the door for Carlisle. He shut
it once Carlisle was in the car and got in from the other side.
He said politely, âDrive straight ahead for about 500 yards, mister. Then, turn left onto Rhonwen Road.â
