Chapter 25

1st official date

Love's unexpected turns

The sun cast a warm golden hue over the royal palace as Win smirked at his reflection in the ornate mirror, satisfied with his genius plan. He had successfully orchestrated the perfect date for Sky and Nani, one that would ensure their budding relationship got the undisturbed quality time it deserved. After all, Win was nothing if not a supportive friend—and a master planner.

He clapped his hands, signaling his personal assistant to finalize arrangements. Sky and Nani would spend the day at the most picturesque spots in Win’s kingdom, with no interruptions. Win’s trusted bodyguards would keep a discreet distance, ensuring their safety without overshadowing their romance.

---

The morning began with a soft knock on Nani’s guest room door. He opened it to find Sky standing there, his nervous smile mirroring Nani’s own. Both were dressed casually but elegantly, perfectly suited for a day of adventure.

“Ready?” Sky asked, his deep voice holding a hint of hesitation.

Nani nodded, feeling his heart race as he replied softly, “Let’s go.”

Their first stop was the kingdom’s pristine beach, a hidden gem with white sands and turquoise waters. A private section had been reserved for them, complete with a shaded canopy, comfortable loungers, and a light breakfast spread.

Sky pulled out a chair for Nani, who blushed at the gesture. “You don’t have to do that, I can do that myself,” Nani said, though his smile betrayed his delight.

“I know you can, but I want to,” Sky replied simply, sitting across from him.

They spent the morning enjoying the gentle sea breeze, dipping their feet into the cool waves, and walking along the shore. Sky couldn’t help but admire the way Nani’s eyes lit up as he pointed out seashells and tiny crabs scuttling across the sand.

“You’re adorable,” Sky murmured at one point, causing Nani to turn crimson.

“I’m not,” Nani mumbled, looking away, but the butterflies in his stomach betrayed him.

---

By midday, their journey took them to the kingdom’s famed river. The crystal-clear waters sparkled under the sunlight, surrounded by lush greenery. A small boat awaited them, piloted by a professional but unobtrusive guide.

As the boat glided down the river, Nani leaned over the edge, trailing his fingers in the water. “This place is beautiful,” he said, his voice filled with wonder.

Sky sat beside him, his gaze fixed not on the scenery but on Nani. “It is,” he agreed, though he wasn’t talking about the river.

Nani glanced at him, catching his intense gaze. “What?”

“Nothing,” Sky replied, a small smile tugging at his lips. “I just like watching you.”

Nani’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly turned back to the water, hoping Sky wouldn’t notice how flustered he was.

They stopped at a secluded spot along the riverbank, where a picnic lunch had been set up under a canopy of trees. The atmosphere was peaceful, with the gentle sound of flowing water and chirping birds as their backdrop.

Sky reached across the table to brush a crumb off Nani’s cheek, his touch lingering for a moment. “You’re messy,” he teased, though his voice was warm.

Nani swatted his hand away, laughing. “You’re annoying.”

But the way his smile lingered said otherwise.

---

As evening approached, their final destination was a rooftop restaurant overlooking the entire kingdom. The setting sun painted the sky in shades of orange and pink, casting a romantic glow over the city below.

The table was adorned with candles and fresh flowers, and a violinist played softly in the background. Sky pulled out Nani’s chair once again, earning an exasperated but affectionate eye roll.

The meal was exquisite, with each course more delicious than the last. They shared bites of dessert, their fingers brushing as they passed the plate back and forth.

“Thank you for today,” Nani said softly, looking up at Sky.

Sky reached across the table to take Nani’s hand in his. “You don’t have to thank me. I’d do anything to make you happy.”

Nani’s eyes shimmered, and for a moment, it felt like the entire world had faded away, leaving only the two of them.

---

When they returned to the palace, the night was quiet, the corridors dimly lit. Sky walked Nani to his guest room, their steps slow and hesitant.

“Well... goodnight,” Nani said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Sky didn’t reply immediately. Instead, he stepped closer, cupping Nani’s cheek gently. “Not yet,” he murmured before leaning down to capture Nani’s lips in a tender kiss.

Nani melted into the kiss, his hands clutching Sky’s shirt for support. It was soft and sweet, yet filled with all the emotions they hadn’t been able to put into words.

When they finally pulled apart, their foreheads rested against each other. Neither wanted to let go, their breaths mingling as they lingered in the moment.

“You should go,” Nani said, though his grip on Sky’s shirt didn’t loosen.

“You first,” Sky countered, his voice low and teasing.

They stayed like that for another minute before reluctantly stepping back. Sky pressed a final kiss to Nani’s forehead. “Goodnight, Nani.”

“Goodnight, Sky,” Nani replied, his cheeks flushed.

---

Once inside his room, Nani collapsed onto the bed, burying his face in a pillow to muffle his giggles. He felt giddy, like a teenager on their first date. He kicked his feet and hugged the pillow tightly, his mind replaying every moment of the day.

“He kissed me,” he whispered to himself, his voice filled with awe. “Sky kissed me.”

He chuckled again, the butterflies in his stomach fluttering wildly. It was a side of himself he hadn’t seen before, and he loved it.

Meanwhile, in his own room, Sky leaned against the door, running a hand through his hair with a grin. He felt like a boy who had just come back from his first date, his heart racing and his mind spinning with thoughts of Nani.

He paced the room, unable to sit still. “I can’t believe I kissed him,” he muttered, though there was no regret in his voice—only amazement.

---

As Sky finally settled into bed, his phone buzzed on the nightstand. He picked it up, his stomach sinking as he read the message from his superior.

"Vacation over. Report to the palace immediately. Your services are required."

Sky’s heart sank. He glanced toward the wall that separated his room from Nani’s, his chest tightening.

What to do now?
