Chapter 484 - 484 TO MEET ARTHUR
Tangled By Fate
484 TO MEET ARTHUR
âShe shouldnât go there alone,â Ironin stated.
Ovior couldnât agree more.
âFine, she can take some companions with her. Ask Sebastian and Catherine to come here. As long as she is under Arthurâs protection, there shouldnât be any problem.â
As Ironin went to find those two, Ovior was alone with Veronica.
âIâm sorry you were poisoned due to our lack of security,â he apologized.
âDonât be. Thanks to this incident, I realized how much I love Arthur.â
âThatâs good to know. And please do something about the Elves. I canât handle them after you leave.â
âOkay.â
Veronica went back to her room and found Urulas and the other two elves with Catherine.
.....
They were packing their stuff and cleaning the mess while Catherine was keeping an eye on them.
âAre you ready to leave?â Veronica asked them.
Urulas replied, âWe have nothing else to do here. Unless you have any command for us, we would like to leave this place.â
He seemed like he would be relieved if he could leave this place. Same for the rest of them.
âI thought this place was comfortable for you,â Veronica said.
Urulas stated, âThis place reeks of the smell of magic. We feel uncomfortable around dark magic.â
He looked around the walls and continued, âThis place has a cruel history. Many died and were betrayed here. The greed of the people here is toxic.â
He glanced at Veronica and said, âThis place isnât good for you. This place weakens your power. Maybe this is why you canât heal quickly.â
âIs that so?â Veronica was surprised. âIâve never thought about that. I can always clear the area with my divinity.â
After that, she raised her arm and then, her hand was illuminated with white light. Instantly, the whole room was purified.
Urulas took a deep breath. âItâs bearable. The air is lighter,â he commented.
âMy power is stronger than before. I can feel it in my fingertips.â Veronica looked at her fingers. âThe Blood of the Dragon, is it?â
âThatâs right. Itâs because of the flower that grew from the mixer of the blessed child and the dragonâs blood.â
âBlessed child?â Veronica was skeptical. âIt canât be me.â
âIt has to be you because the flower is born once in a millennium.â Urulas opened a scroll and showed it to her. âThis is the flower we fed you. I found it in the Rosemary Temple. I thought it belonged to you and so I brought it.â
Looking at the picture for some time, Veronica stated, âI swear I never saw it in the temple in my life. If I had ever seen such an exquisite flower, I would have remembered it.â
âAs for dragon blood, I donât think I have something like this in my body.â
âSo, there are things that go past you. You must have drunk dragon blood when you were in the temple. Thatâs where the mighty dragon took its last breath. Iâve already found the grave.â
âGrave⦠you meanâ¦â
Veronica recalled a small, dark cave where she found a dragon and there was a small-sized gold bowl filled with an odd smell and metallic taste.
She covered her mouth in disbelief. She couldnât believe she drank dragon blood without knowing what it was.
She asked, âIs something supposed to happen to me if I drank the dragonâs blood? Oh wait, it doesnât make any sense. Even if I drink the blood of the dragon, how did the flower come out?â
Urulas commented, âYou must have hurt yourself after drinking the dragonâs blood and bled. The place where the blood fell, the flower grew there.â
Veronica tried to remember but it was a long time ago and she couldnât properly remember if she was injured or not back then.
âBut I bled countless times. Do you think the flower bloomed every time?â
Urulas was skeptical. âI⦠donât know for sure. The times you bled in front of us, we didnât notice anything. It could be a one-time thing.â
âWhat do you mean by you saw her bleeding before?â Catherine interrogated Urulas.
âHe meant the time they helped me train,â Veronica quickly explained.
âThey bled you to death to train you?â Catherine gave Urulas a murderous look.
Urulas: ââ¦â
Catherine was even angrier when Urulas didnât look like he regretted it a bit.
Veronica patted her friendâs back to calm her down.
âCathy, donât exaggerate. I didnât bleed to death.â
âHow could they do that to an innocent girl like you?â Catherine simply couldnât forgive those âinhuman elvesâ.
âOf course they didnât want me to bleed. I wanted to learn how to fight. Thatâs why they taught me. Iâm so powerful now that I can protect you from bad guys now. Isnât this wonderful?â
Catherine wasnât impressed by Veronicaâs words.
She said, âShouldnât you be powerful just because you drank the dragonâs blood like a vampire from the fairy tale? Why do you need to learn how to fight?â
Although her question was reasonable, Veronica didnât know how to answer.
The question also came to her mind.
Why did nothing change after she drank the blood of the dragon?
Urulas was also wondering the same thing.
He probed, âAre you sure nothing changed after you drankâ¦?â
âIâm pretty sure nothing changed. Whether itâs falling in love or becoming more courageous.â
Veronica shrugged.
While the room was in complete silence, someone knocked on the door and then entered the room.
It was Ironin.
âWe need to leave,â he declared.
âAre you going somewhere?â Urulas asked Veronica.
âYes,â Veronica nodded. âI want to meet my husband.â
Urulas slightly frowned. âBe careful on the way.â
âWe will be teleporting. Nothing to worry about.â Veronica looked at her friend. âCathy, do you want to join us?â
Catherine thought about it. âIf Ovior is okay with it, why not? At least I can help the injured wizards.â
Eventually, Ovior didnât have a problem with it.
He created a circle on the floor of his room and drew some symbols inside.
Afterward, he asked Veronica, Ironin, Sebastian and Catherine to enter inside the circle.
As they did, Ovior used his long staff to grow light and murmured something.
The circle brightened and illuminated a strong light.
Veronica and the rest shut their eyes as they couldnât stand the light.
Before they knew it, they appeared in a completely different place.
Veronica opened her eyes and looked around. She gaped.
Catherine spoke first, âArenât we supposed to be in the desert? Where are we now?â
âThis isâ¦â
